Chapter 3: Influence
It's been just two months since Harry and Jess relationship started,but Jess has been influenced all round by Harry,he made her think differently,she even started exploring life she never imagined she would explore. Well, as for the renting of apartment offer,Jess declined it,she thought it would be nice to have her uncle control her to some extent so that she won't go astray,you know avoiding unwanted pregnancy or coming home anytime she want, Jess is 20,she can actually control all these but, she felt there is a really good need to have a guardian in her life, no matter how difficult her "uncle "might be,he will always be her "uncle",the only one that had her back when the whole world turned from her those days .
So Harry told Jess he doesn't want to sleep with her yet because he might lose interest in her if they start having sex, Jess was so scared of losing him, but she had so many doubts, does she really want to give her virginity to him, "he kinda deserve it", "I mean he has done so much for me, he taught me everything I need to know about sexual relationship " Jess said to her closest friend Anita who was also Harry's best friend.
Anita tried to convince Jess to have sex with Harry,she made her see reasons why she should entrust even her whole life in Harry's hands.
But that doubt in Jess's mind is still there, "what if he finds someone else?, what if he changes his mind about me? "
"But you have to take a chance girl "Anita said to her
"I know but anytime I try to take a chance with Harry, I always end up paying the price in one negative way or the other"
This isn't a lie, Harry has so much influence in her life that she now disobeys her "uncle ",her uncle had threatened to send her back to her mother more than four times. This is exactly what Harry wanted,a situation whereby she would be thrown out by her" uncle "and she will start living with him or better still have her own apartment. Jess didn't want this,it made Harry so mad, he always ask her why she won't take a chance for them, this is a chance for them to enjoy their relationship freely without her "uncle" meddling .
"Seriously Jessica, after everything I've done for you,you still won't take a chance for me"Harry complained one night when they were out late and Jess was so eager to get home before her "uncle "skin her alive.
"It's not like that Harry, I really wish things were different "she said with so much sadness in her tone
"We can make things differently","come on, let's elope together,lets go a place far away from this place "
Jess saw so much romance and sweetness in what he said, but that one part of her sees regret, fear, unwanted pregnancy and worse dropping out of school. She couldn't risk ruining her future for him. What will she gain?, a few months of freedom,pleasure and what else??.
No Jess, you can't do that, the voice in her head spoke loudly that Harry could see her saying "No" to his request .
"Oh I get, your "uncle will get mad","it's okay we can always have time for ourselves when you get into school "Harry said reassuring himself that there is still hope for them.
They continued their relationship anyways,Jess is just 5 months away from entering college, at least there is still hope for them. Although she fears that their relationship won't last longer than she thinks.
