Xu Si takes the letter and after checking the letter, he opens it to read the contents inside he is soon shocked by what he read, Zhang Miao who sees Xu Si's shocked face takes the letter from his hand and begins to read the content of the letter, he was also shocked after finish reading it with mixed feelings as he didn't expect that he was forgiven for what he did.
Zhang Miao put the letter down on the table where it was seen that the letter was from Cao Cao, just like Lie Fan who had the Oriole Cao Cao have his own set of spies inside of Lu Bu's army.
He was informed of the conflict between Zhang Miao and Xu Si with Lu Bu, Cao Cao felt that this was a chance that they could exploit, and after asking Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai they also thought the same as Cao Cao.
So Cao Cao, Guo Jia, and Xi Zhicai together came up with a letter filled with touching words to persuade Zhang Miao and Xu Si to betray Lu Bu, in turn, they could go back to serve Cao Cao.
Their Plan of course bore fruition, Zhang Miao and Xi Si were truly touched by Cao Cao's kindness to them especially Zhang Miao who now feels guilty as he and Cao Cao were good friends in the past before he decided to betray him.
Zhang Miao and Xu Si look toward each other and after seeing the look of determination pass before each other eyes, they decide to betray Lu Bu after the humiliation Lu Bu has caused to them.
After deciding to serve Cao Cao once again, Zhang Miao and Xu Si take a rest and the next morning they begin to gather people that they could take to their side, for now, they avoid Lu Bu's original retainer that follows him from day one or before them.
The movement of Zhang Miao and Xu Si was unknown to both Lu Bu and Chen Gong who are now focused on defending Beihai from Cao Cao and Liu Bei's army, who begin to attack them today.
The attacks by Cao Cao and Liu Bei were direct and typical frontal siege assaults, without any special strategies or tactics being deployed by either Guo Jia, Xi Zhicai, or Ju Shou which caused Chen Gong to be confused.
Chen Gong fears that there's an unknown surprise or handle that those three men have prepared for him, so he is on alert and keeps focusing on Cao Cao and Liu Bei's army movement.
Unbeknownst to Chen Gong this is deliberately done by Guo Jia, Xi Zhicai, and Ju Shou to cause Chen Gong to keep his focus on them, Ju Shou thought this was to lower Chen Gong's guard before surprising him but only Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai who knows the truth that it is to let Zhang Miao and Xu Si undetected.
As for Lu Bu, he was completely oblivious to the politics that were happening inside his own army, and without Chen Gong's guidance, he could either fasten the downfall of Beihai or his defeat immediately.
Right now under The Three Advisors' guidance, Cao Cao and Liu Bei put their strongest general at the frontline which were Xu Chu and Xiahou Dun from Cao Cao while Guan Yu and Zhang Fei from Liu Bei.
Since it was a direct and frontal siege assault, They felt that it was better to use a General with the highest raw power to cause massive damage and mentally drain Lu Bu's soldiers since except for Lu Bu and Zhang Liao none of their generals could defeat these four men.
Guo Jia: "I'm sure Master Chen Gong right now was on high alert, let him feel that way from several days of battle and I'm sure he will slowly lose his guard, at that time we can strike in surprise."
Xi Zhicai: "That's true, tomorrow we should deploy Generals who are flexible on their feet, since Lord Liu Bei only had General Guan Yu and Zhang Fei right now, I think we send General Guan Yu once again tomorrow alongside General Yue Jin, Li Dian, and Cao Hong."

Xi Zhicai: "Yes we should do it like that, and Master Chen Gong will truly be surprised by the gift we have prepared for him later on Haha!"
Ju Shou: "Gift? What kind of gift is Master Xi Zhicai talking about?"
Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai only smiled at Ju Shou, which Ju Shou felt that their smile had a deeper meaning that told him he needed to find this out before it was too late since even though Liu Bei agreed to be subservient to Cao Cao for some years, he and Liu Bei have planned an immediate rebellion to take over Qing Province form Cao Cao's clutches.
The battle was ongoing for about a month in Beihai, at this time Lu Lingqi's presence on the battlefield began to gain her some reputation alongside her female soldiers who fought at her side.
At first, she and her soldiers were underestimated by Cao Cao's men, and many even hurled insults and obscene words at her, but in return, Lu Lingqi and her units slain them on the spot easily and even pushed back some of Cao Cao and Liu Bei's success in gaining a foothold on top of Beihai walls.
Known for her beauty and fierceness in battle, she gained the nickname 'Rose Thorn' which maximizes her beauty and how deadly she was in battle, Lu Lingqi's presence attracted Cao Cao's attention after she managed to defeat Cao Hong in a duel in which pushes Cao Hong from gaining a foothold.
Cao Cao was captivated by her beauty when he saw her fighting on top of the wall and remembered the rumor that even Dong Zhuo lusted her own adopted granddaughter, he believed the rumor after seeing Lu Lingqi firsthand.
Of course, this enamored look on Cao Cao's face was noticed by Guo Jia and Xi Zhicai. Knowing about Cao Cao's weakness which was beautiful women, both raised their alert in case Cao Cao did something reckless to capture Lu Lingqi which could destroy their plan which was on its conjucture.
They have received word from their spy inside Lu Bu's army that Zhang Miao and Xu Si have amassed almost enough men to help them take down Beihai from Lu Bu's hand.
Unfortunately, they don't manage to rebuild any of Lu Bu's generals which could bolster their chances since they don't dare to do so afraid that their plan will be discovered.
Chen Gong was still completely oblivious and did not lower his guard, seen from the way his formation was built from a truly tight defensive formation into a more loss of formation where his men could take turns defending Beihai's wall.
After today's battle, at night Zhang Miao and Xu Si sent a letter to Cao Cao and his advisors that they were ready to help them overthrow Lu Bu from Beihai, Cao Cai received the letter immediately and a reply by saying that their signal was a very intensified war drum.
Zhang Miao and Xu Si who received Cao Cao's reply informed the men they had managed to gather up of their signal and also distributed numerous pieces of black colored cloth to be tied on their arms.
The next day, when the battle for Biehai once again ensued, Cao Cao and Liu Bei sent all of their armies to attack with Guo Jia, Xi Zichai, and Ju Shou created numerous strategies and tactics for Cao Cao and Liu Bei's general to be deployed.
Chen Gong was caught off guard by the sudden full-scale attack of Cao Cao and Liu Bei's army which was accompanied by multi-layered strategies and tactics, causing him to have all of the able-bodied men Lu Bu to defend Beihai walls.
This caused Beihai's inner defenses to be empty, and Chen Gong noticed this so he assigned Lu Lingqi and her squad to guard the family members of Lu Bu's retainers that were gathered in Beihai's Governor Castle by Chen Gong as a safety measure.
Zhang Miao and Xu Si notice the move made by Chen Gong, knowing that was only Lu Lingqi and her squad were the only ones guarding the family members, they thought it was an easy target of course not that easy considering the kind of prowess Lu Lingqi have.
The two of them waited for their signal while the battle was going on fiercely, some time passed by, and the battle continued to become even more fierce when suddenly from Cao Cao and Liu Bei's side a very intensified war drum sound was sounded.
Lu Bu and Chen Gong who heard the sound thought that it was another one of Cao Cao and Liu Bei's to increase the pressure on their army to attack them even more fiercely, but unbeknownst to them even Liu Bei and his retainers didn't know why Cao Cao's war drum suddenly sounded that fast.
Zhang Miao and Xu Si who heard their signal immediately led some of their men who had worn their black armbands to attack Lu Bu's men from behind, Xu Si led the attack on them while Zhang Miao led half of their men toward Beihai Governor Castle.
Lu Bu and Chen Gong who were focused on the attack in front of them didn't expect the sudden attack from their rear, Chen Gong sent Song Xian and Wei Xu to repel the attack from the rear.
Lu Bu at first wanted to repel the attack from the rear himself, but Chen Gong knew that he and Zhang Liao were important chess pieces in the defense strategy so he held Lu Bu and sent Song Xian alongside Wei Xu.
When Song Xian and Wei Xu brought them to repel the attack on their rear, they didn't expect that the leader was Xu Si who reiterated from the frontline after seeing the two of them, realizing that they were betrayed they left their men to lead an aggressive counterattack.
On the other side, Zhang Miao who had reached Beihai's Governor Castle found that the gate was closed, he shouted for the gate to be opened and said that he was sent by Chen Gong to reinforce them, but Lu Lingqi who came out and stood on top of the wall denied his entry, causing Zhang Miao having to attack since he can't enter without a fight.
