Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Scent of Freedom

The young blonde girl, was now in a room, filled with nothing but darkness. She curled herself in to a ball in the corner of the room. The sound of her helpless whimpers and desperate attempt to scream for help, echoed throughout the room. After a few attempts of screams of desperation the screeching sound of a door filled the room immediately followed by hustled footsteps, coupled with heavy grunting.

"I told you to stay quiet!"

Shouted a voice filled with dread and vile. A ray of light then shone through a small hole in the ceiling of the room, illuminating and revealing portions of the room, alongside the sight of pure terror etched on the pale white face of the teenage girl.

"Alina, you don't want to go back to the garden, do you?"

The large bearded male before Alina said. His tone now, soft and gentle. The grey misty eyes of Alina widened in horror as images flashed before her. Rivers of blood and piles of fingers, toes, ears and nails scattered amongst the various fields of plantation. She lowered her head in submission towards the male.

"No, sir. I am grateful for your kindness to me."

She answered. Her tone robotic as though this line had been said a dozen times.

"Good, that's what I like to hear!"

The violent, aggressor exclaimed. His tone upbeat and joyful, as though what he had done was an act of great goodness. He turned to leave the room, stopping for a short moment to stare back at the subservient face of Alina her head bowed as though the man in front of her was the king of a great empire. He grinned in satisfaction and walked out of the room.

Her hands clenched onto the ragged, brown overalls once again tears began to dampen the dorsal side of her hand. However, her eyes no longer filled with sorrow, a new subtle light beginning to emit from them, her face no longer that of sorrow and regret. A transition in emotion had occurred instantly, as she used the back of her hand to wipe away her tears.

"It's time I stopped feeling sorry for myself."

She whispered to herself, her voice now cold and vicious, her eyes full of drive and determination.

She then stood up and began to walk around the room, her hands carefully sliding against every section of the walls. Her every movement one of utmost caution and thought. After several moments of searching she had found what she was so desperately searching for. Alina's finger entered upon a hole in the wall, she propped her head against the hole observing for the quietest of sound. There it was the faint sound of the swift, winter wind.
