Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Regina:

I glared at myself in the mirror. My green-hazel eyes were having a taste of redness. I washed my face with cold water and wiped it clean with paper towel. Just as in every public bathroom, I had an insulting glare from the ladies wearing elegant clothes and a pearl necklace around their neck. I even brushed my hair using my left hand, so I could show them my diamond ring even though the prize was rather cheaper than the honeymoon suites of this hotel. One more thing, I had to return the ring as soon as the mission would be over.

In meantime, my phone buzzed with a text message. Already knowing who it might be, I headed outside, unlocking my phone to return the text message.

Scott Mcreu: Gina, we are heading to the club now. I am outside the main hotel entrance. Get here immediately. If God - NO - if the law could forgive me for killing an annoying man, I would have murdered him ages ago. Unfortunately, the law wasn't so gracious. So, I had to have to lot of patience dealing with this man.

Coming. I replied to him.

From the sliding automatic door near in the distance, the wind came rushing like a whistle. I rubbed the goosebumps off my arms. Even though flowers were starting to blossoms, the cold still covered the night sky.

On the way to the main entrance, I accidentally bumped into a man, who was wearing a sunglasses during a nighttime. Oh, come on. I angrily eyed the man, rubbing my shoulder as it was painful to withstand. I had a glimpse of his shoes. I dared not to say, but his shoes were shining. His black pant was definitely a tailored, and his legs were long. He must be six foot tall - no less - no more.

"I am sorry." He apologized. And at that moment, something caught my attention. His accent. It wasn't an American. Apparently, it was the only accent that would blow my mind out. A British accent never failed to amuse me.

I looked up at him - really looked up at his blue eye, gleaming as his sunglasses was out of the picture. He was the creation - NO - he was the creator of the handsomeness. His expression was cold yet it looked remarkably defined. I swallowed the lump in my throat, feeling absolutely naked and ugly in front of this man. It was a torture for mankind to be born this way - to be a picture perfect. He had chiseled cheekbones and the dapper haircut on his brown hair.

"Are you alright?" He asked me. He was looking at me up and down, observing me as well as I was doing same to him. When our gazed fixed on each other, I could have sworn that my anticipation was worse than the pain on my shoulder. For say, it was eager to destroy my world.

Controlling my excitement of encountering a man of beauty, I answered him. "I am fine." Although I had a feeling that my bones were badly injured. Besides his perfect features, he had a muscular body and his hands looked raw as if he had bitten hundreds of men.

"You don't look fine." He argued, giving me hard time to resist my feelings of accepting help from a strange handsome man.

My phone again ding with a text message from Scott. My heartbeat quickened as if I had done something wrong or I was about to have this strange man helped me if Scott hadn't been on the way to ruin everything for me.

Scott Mcreu: I am holding a taxi. Get here now.

Apologizing to a handsome man, I said my goodbyes and headed straight to the main entrance without glancing back at him. I did have a feeling that I made a decision without even thinking of the consequences. A man like him, I knew they weren't a companion for a lifetime. They would come like a wind, it would leave a scar, and they would be gone before you even began to realize that you should have made right decisions.

And I instantly regretted my decision of leaving him without asking his phone number.
