Chapter 1: The Demon King Accepts War

Dai Ling was throwing a mixture of purple and green fire at his enemies. He wanted them deader than dead and he was going to get that. His fiery hands were protecting him from his enemies' attacks. Their attacks wouldn't be fatal to him because he was a demon. His opponents were simple human beings shooting at him with their guns.

As their screams of pain echoed in his ears, he heard his commander speaking to him. "Yes?" He responded.

"My King, the humans are trying to wage war on us." He tells him. Dai stared at the dead bodies that surrounded him and his commander.

"This isn't the war right here?" He asked, not really surprised. Humans love to kill other kinds of people, even their own kind. However, Dai sees this as a waste of time. He would rather just conquer the entire planet, but each continent has an army that will wage war on threats that come to destroy their way of life.

"No sir, but the humans have attacked us, thinking that we were monsters." The commander answered. His large horns were made for impaling his enemies and he was a bull demon. Dai cracked his knuckles.

"Well, they wanted a war, right? Let's give them a war. Men, move out!" He ordered, pushing his army forward. Going back to the Kingdom could put a matter of disgrace on his title as the Demon King and Dai couldn't have that. He didn't want to disappoint the Demon Council that could easily remove him since he isn't really loyalty-born.

The Demon Army moved forward, not encountering any human armies until they reached China. The humans there shot at them immediately as they showed themselves and Dai decided to just let the other demons handle the humans. "Wait!" One of the men had shouted.

"Stand down!" Dai commanded his men. The demons listened to their king and Dai lurched forward in his seat.

"What do you puny humans want?" Dai demanded from the Chinese commander. The man gulped down his obvious fear of the demon.

"A peace wager." The man suggested. Dai was interested in what the man had to say and he leaped from his chair and onto the ground, cracking the ground with just him landing on it

"What kind of peace wager would you and your kind suggest to me?" Dai asks of the commander. The man was sweating bullets, but he swung his arm around a woman that was forced forward.

"I could give you a wife in the form of this woman." He tells Dai. Dai stared at the frightened woman and he suppressed a growl. The woman was afraid, so very marry afraid. She knew that the man wasn't human, but she also knew that the man was a demon. The power that radiated off of the man made her shiver in fear.

She released a small whimper and that made Dai growl in anger. "You would save your own skin by giving me a woman?" He asked, not being able to believe the nerve of the commander.

"We have no need for women. Besides, she's pathetic." This was the wrong thing to say as Dai reached forward and grab the woman away from the cruel man.

"You are despicable." Dai tells the man before him. "But, I will accept your offer. The woman is mine and your safety is guaranteed as long as your army don't follow me." Dai tells the man.

"You and your new wife shall be safe from us." The Chinese commander gave Dai his word. Dai sneered at the man.

"It better stay that way." Dai says, holding the woman closer to him. The woman's scared hazel eyes gazed into his red eyes and the demon couldn't help but to feel something towards the woman. "What's your name, my soon-to-be-wife?" He asked softly.

"Yu Yan." The woman softly answered Dai. Dai smiled, showing his sharp teeth.

"Dai Ling, the Demon King at your service." Dai answered Yu. Yu was shocked at the revelation of the man before her. A king? She was marrying a king?! He had red hair that seems to be explosive and his red eyes showed kindness, but Yu also saw disdain in his eyes. Yu thought that she was plain with her purple eyes and black, silky hair that reached her back. Dai finally let his black and green wings sprout from his back, revealing that he was a demon dragon. Yu's eyes widened in fear and Dai smiled.

"Don't be afraid, my wife. I won't harm you." Dai tells her, flying into the air holding her tightly. Yu felt the air slap her face as her hair flowed in the wind. Yu held onto Dai's red shirt and she leaned her head on his chest and she closed her eyes.
