Chapter 6: The Demon King V.S. The Mage (Part 2)
Dai couldn't believe his shock that the Mage had Yu in his arms. When the man started laughing, that was when his fury broke free of its' container. Dai roared a demonic roar. As he roared, his eyes turned all the way green. His primal instinct as a demon, survival and protecting what's his. This was Dai's Primal Instinct, a beast that cannot be controlled by Dai himself. Dai roared again, frightening Yu a little as she noticed the change of Dai. He's more demonic now. She thought, but she knew that she couldn't blame him. She was a hostage of the Mage that held her in his arms. "Let go of me!" Yu whimpered.
Her whimper made Dai growled. Despite losing control, Dai could still recognize the woman he enjoyed being around. "Release her." Even his voice sounded demonic. The Mage smirked and he hugged Yu tighter to him and she squealed for Dai to rescue her. Dai was willing to honor her pleads and he rushed forward, catching Yu with his arm. But, there was something different. Despite him being ferocious at the moment, he was gentle with her. Yu noticed that Dai wasn't squeezing the life out of her arm and she smiled up at him. The demon calmed down at her smiling and his appearance changed back to his regular one.
His eyes caught Yu's attention and she saw the guilt in his eyes. Dai pulled the woman into his hold and he growled into the Mage's fearful face after encountering the demonic side of Dai, the Demon King. "I am the Demon King and this is my wife. You should be glad that I don't want to slaughter you for touching my wife." Dai growled at the man, who fell back onto the ground. Dai gave the man a disapproving stare.
"You fiend! I will kill you and claim your army!" The Mage angrily shouted at Dai's retreating back. Dai stopped walking and he lifted Yu into his arms.
"Are you waging war on me?" He asked with seriousness in his voice.
"Damn right! You've disrespected me, so now, we will fight with our armies to the death!" The Mage shouted at Dai, who glared at the man.
"I accept your proposal. I shall give you one week to prepare." Dai walked off with Yu in his arms. She felt small in his arms and Dai calmed himself so he could talk to his wife. "I'm sorry about that." He was sincere and she knew that he was apologizing for the demonic side appearing and the war proposal.
"It's fine. I will stay in the safety of any guard you choose to watch me." Yu says, understandingly.
"I would want Eli to watch you, but he's my most trusted man. The army will be furiously protective of their queen." Dai warns Yu.
"They're already used to me?" She was shocked at this. Dai was shocked at her words.
"Yes, they are. They love the innocence you shine brightly of." Dai tells Yu, who smiled at him. He's so charming. Yu thought, smiling at Dai.
