Chapter 2: The class prefect
Waiting till when everyone settled down, Mr Martin starts marking the registry calling each student "Michael"... "Velvet"..... "Luna".... "Stanley".... "Latisha".... "Aurielle...."
"Rielle"....Lucien murmured, as he stared at Aurielle.
The whole class stares at Lucien wondering why he was conducting self conversations.
Lorena, noticing the weirdness her brother is transmitting, raises her hand up to ask the teacher a question diverting the attention from him.
"Yes Lorena, what question do you have", Mr Martin asked her?
"I would like to know who the class prefect is, in case my brother and I have questions concerning the school lessons or the afternoon activities."
" Oh my dear, my forgetful self, the class prefect for the year hasn't been decided yet", Mr Martin suddenly remembered. Who would like to be our prefect for this year? We all know that our goddess did a wonderful job last year in representing this class. I would like to have two people who are responsible enough to take over this job."
"I am in support of it if Aurielle and Daniel are our class prefect for this year again," says Alice. Me too Mia, her seat partner agreed", convinced by the suggestion which was made, a variety of the students were in support of her retaking the role again.
"Alright everyone, let's ask Aurielle if she is willing to be the class prefect again."
"Well I don´t mind taking on the role again as long as the vice isn´t Daniel, he barely comes to school and makes me do everything myself. I mean I don´t mind beating him up again if he tries to tell me moonlight stories."
"Well well Aurielle this isn't how a goddess acts, I told you I had jobs to take care of, which is why I couldn't help you but I promise to be a good knight in shining armor to my goddess this time" Daniel said, trying to defend himself.
"Knight in shining armor my ass" came from the fourth row, "I would like to be the vice prefect", Lucien says looking at Aurielle´s ruby red eyes.
"Oh Oh Oh look what we have here, a new comer is trying to steal our class goddess from me?"
"I can't steal what was never yours Daniel."
"Alright kids, we would have a vote on who will be the vice prefect, I would like the both of you to hold a short presentation on why you would like to be the vice prefect."
"May I start first?
"Yes, go ahead, Daniel," Mr. Martin said as he took his seat.
"Hi everyone, I would like to be the vice prefect this year because I think this role fits perfectly for me; I am smart, tall, play basketball wonderfully, and fit our goddess the most," he said while glaring at Lucien.
"I wonder if this is a pairing contest or a vice prefect contest, murmured Lorena to herself," not surprised by her comment, Michael, sitting beside her, says that "everyone is fascinated by Aurielle because she is the smartest girl in the whole grade, looks pretty, has a fascinating body shape, and has the prettiest eyes in the school." "Moreover, the school won the singing and dancing contest due to her contributions." "Therefore, she was named the goddess of Phoenix High."
"I see....." Lorena looked up at her brother as it was his turn to speak. "I would like to be the vice prefect because I will take my role seriously and support Aurielle in all ways, not leaving her to be stranded or alone," he said while grinning at Aurielle.
"Anyone who has problems with any subject can come to me for help, and since today is the first school day, I will sponsor a crushed shake for everyone in the class."
Hearing this, the whole class cheers him up and starts writing down their choices.
"It seems like the new guy is smitten by you, Aurielle, Latisha tells her best friend," amused by his dedication to being the vice.
"He is just another weirdo like Daniel," she answered, "they all seem to promise but can't fulfil their promises when the time is right", seemingly not intrigued by what either one of the guys said. Not wanting to work with Daniel once more, she forced herself to vote for Lucien, hoping he was the better choice. Everyone picked their choice and dropped their votes, waiting for the results as Mr. Martin counted out the names.
Reaching the last vote, he asks Lucien to the front and congratulates him on being the new vice prefect, Completely surprised by the outcome, Daniel asks for a revote and is ignored by the class because everyone is cheering for the new vice prefect.
Lucien makes his way back to his seat, stops in front of Aurielle and says, "I look forward to working with you, my goddess," with a gleeful expression on his face.
What a weirdo.... Aurielle thinks to herself and sighs again.
"Fair enough, since the class prefect and her vice have been decided on, we have less to take care of. Aurielle please take your time in showing and explaining the rules and regulations to Lucien since he is still new." "Also, Lorena, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask Aurielle."
"Class is dismissed....."
