Chapter 9: Who wants your kids?
Aurielle arrived at the school fifteen minutes before the lessons started, she made her way to her classroom located at the west wing of the school.
The school consisted of 3 humongous buildings which were separated from each other by the statue of a phoenix whose wings were soaring into the sky. A student once said, he saw the phoenix stare down at him and became the joke of the day.
Allegedly, the school was built by an old monk who believed in the divine power of the phoenix. He claimed that the foundation of the school radiated good luck and prosperity because it had been previously inhabited by a phoenix. Since he was known as a benevolent person, he established the school to offer young people a chance of sharing and profiting from the fortune. It is said that his family members had taken over the rulership of the school; however, no one had ever seen someone from the monk's family appear on the school grounds.
The school buildings were made of bright red bricks matching the color of the phoenix statue. The shade of the color deepend from building to building, the kindergarten and nursery building located on the east wing was built in the color dark red, the building for the primary and secondary classes on the north wing were in a lighter tone, while the pre-college building outshined everything else in a stark bright red tone. According to the founder of the school, this symbolized the closeness to reaching the nirvana flames and being born into a phoenix.
The hallway and passage were designed in gold like similar color reflecting the golden eyes of a phoenix, while each classroom had a phoenix emblem on their door.
Aurielle reached the passage leading to her classroom and decided to wait on Latisha since the latter informed her of arriving soon. She took her phone and searched for the latest stock market news. Her grandmother had informed her, that their company's worth had been increasing and they had potential opponents who were interested in their collapse. Immersing herself in her phone, she fails to recognize the footsteps coming towards her. Suddenly she feels something wet on her cheeks and looks up to find Lucien's gray eyes staring immensely at her face as if they were diamonds planted on it. Too stunned to speak about his unexpected act of kissing her cheek, she gets up in a flash to distance herself from him.
"Good morning Rielle, how are you doing today?" he asked her, grabbing her arms and pulling her back to him.
"Let go of me Lucien, do you alway have to act like a ruffian, what don't you understand when I tell you not to touch me?" she asks him, raising her fist in the direction of his face. Before her punch could land on his face, he held her fist and brought them toward his mouth, easing the tension on her fingers, he kissed them and kept eye contact with her, watching her face light up with amusement.
"Rielle, I have seen you fight, I know your tricks, no need to try them on me. You haven't answered my question yet, answer me and I'll let you go."
"I am doing great thanks for asking, now let me go", she hurriedly replied, pulling her fingers out of his large hands yet he didn't let go. "Lucien let go of me this instant, the others will arrive soon"
"And so what? Is it gonna change anything if they arrive? I will hold you where and when I like, so don't be scared, look at how you are grabbing my hand and you claim I am the one holding you."
"I am not your property for you to hold where and when you like, this wasn't what we agreed on, you said, you would let go of me if I answered your question. I did that, so get your freaking hands off me, she said, gritting her teeth and glaring at him."
"Call me Cien and I promise to let you go", he answered her with a soft smile on his face.
"Dream on, I don't buy your lousy ass tricks anymore, your shamelessness can't be bought at the market, it is only found on the streets. LET GO OF ME, she roared at him.
"Pffttt", they both heard a laughter, seeing Lucien turned towards the origin of it, Aurielle uses this opportunity to pull her hands out of Lucien's hands but loses her balance and threatens to fall to the ground towards Lucien. He falls down on his back and tries his best to protect her from hitting her face on the floor, however they both end up in quite a steamy position as Aurielle was sitting on him and their faces were inches apart from each other as if they had just shared a kiss. Moreover she was touching something that kept getting harder every second.
"Rielle, are you torturing me on purpose or why are you seducing me? It's very hard for me to hold myself back", he looked at her with hungry eyes, mirroring the desire he felt for her. "Get up baby or the others might really see us in this position, Latisha is here, she was the one looking at us earlier. And also let go of my little brother, you are really squeezing him, I can show him to you later if you like but don't kill our kids."
"Who wants to have kids with you?" she screamed in embarrassment getting up from him. "Stay away from me", she yelled at him one last time, heading in Latisha's direction.
"Ughhhhhhhh, she groaned in agony,"why can't anything go straight today? First I had to face that devil at home, now I have to face this son of Jezebel in school. Have I offended my ancestors?"
"Buahahahhahaha"; Latisha burst out laughing at the sight of her friend who seemed to be always left speechless on every encounter she had with Lucien. "You have truly found your match Aurielle, you two would make a wonderful couple" she said, not minding the daggers Aurielle was throwing at her through her eyes.
