Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Kidnap?
Elis woke up in the middle of the knight. She felt thirsty so she went to the kitchen to drink some water. While drinking, she noticed the knife on the table. She picked it up and stared at it for a few minutes. She raised her hand and was about to thrust the knife through her chest when all of a sudden a man in a black suit appeared in front of her. The man was standing on the dining table.
His eyes traveled down to her hand and saw the knife that she was holding. "That knife is dull. It won't kill you" he said and walked down the table. He looked around as if analyzing his surroundings and then looked at Elis again.
"Oh. I see. So I still can't die huh" Elis sadly looked at her feet but eventually gazed at the handsome man that appeared in front of her. He had long straight black hair that flows unto his waist which was tied in a low ponytail, his matured features that looked like a model's. Elis' eyes traveled to the topaz blue eyes of the man that shimmered on the darkness of the kitchen. It was as if his eyes were glowing. "Who are you, mister?" Elis asked, surprised by the imposing aura of the man in front of her.
"Me? I'm a demon" upon hearing the word, Elis' eyes lit up and she admiringly looked at the man who is claiming to be a 'Demon'.
"A demon? Have you come to take me?" Elis said. The man was surprised by hearing Elis' question.
"What? Why would I take you?" the man asked.
"Then, are you going to kill me? Torture me? Feel free to do so" Elis widened her arms as if telling him to take her. The man suspected if something is wrong with her head.
"Is your head alright, kid?" he asked her. Elis suddenly lost her enthusiasm. She put down her arms and looked at him before answering his question.
"I've been told that I'm depressed. Does that count as all right?" she honestly answered.
"No" he bluntly answered.
"Oh," she mouthed and acted as if she just realized it.
"Can you kidnap me?" Elis asked him. The man looked at Elis and realized that there was really something wrong with her head.
"What would I gain from kidnapping you?" he asked and stared at her with a grimace.
Not knowing what to answer him, she silently looked at her feet, feeling helpless. She doesn't know what to do anymore.
"There's nothing right?" the man said and smirked at her, making her feel more helpless.
"Well, can you at least take me to hell?" she asked him.
"I've been banished. Can't go there anymore" the man looked regretful as he said those words. He looked like he doesn't want to be reminded by it.
"Oh I see," the girl said and sighed before continuing, "so you're just a useless demon," she said.
"Hey don't call me useless" the man got hurt by Elis' words but he tried to hide it. He put his hands in his chest and the other hand on his forehead and acted like he was in pain and crying.
"Then unusable" Elis replied with a straight face.
"That's just the same as useless!" the man shouted. He can't believe that a human called him useless, and a girl on top of that.
Elis didn't say anything and just stared at the man with an expressionless face. A few minutes passed and Elis didn't look away. She stared at him, not saying anything but the demon knew exactly what she was doing, she's giving him the silent treatment.
The man sighed before answering, "fine! I'll kidnap you" he said. He gave up on their staring competition. He has nothing to do anyway so he'll play with the girl for a while until she becomes bored.
"Really? You really mean it?" her eyes were full of enthusiasm and she looked like she wanted to jump from excitement.
"Get ready, kid," the man said.
"Wait. Let me write a letter to my mom" the girl said.
"Are you serious?" the man gazed at the girl with an absurd expression.
"I have to," Elis said with a serious expression on her face.
The man sighs, "ok then"
After writing a letter, Elis places the paper on top of the dining table.
"Yes. Let me pack my bag first" she said and ran towards her bedroom to prepare.
"Why the fuck do you need a bag? Do you think this is a trip?" the man cursed and Elis gazed at him sharply.
"Please don't cuss," Elis said, smiling but her aura was dark. The man sighed at Elis, he's going to have a hard time restraining himself from cussing. She packed a small bag. Inside are clothes, water, snacks to eat if she gets hungry, first aid, a flashlight, and batteries. While she's packing her bag, the man secretly peaks at the letter that Elis wrote. He was surprised at what the letter says. He looked away immediately, feeling guilty that he peeked at the letter.
"I can't believe I'm doing this" the man sighs for the third time. He knows how infuriated the higher-ups will be if they hear that he's on a trip with a human. Well, he's been banished, he knows that even if they get angry at him they wouldn't do anything. After she packs her bag she went outside her house and the demon wrapped his hands around her waist.
"Isn't this a little inappropriate?" the girls asks the moment he wrapped his hands on her waist.
"If I did a piggyback, I won't be able to fly" he answered as he released his raven-black wings. 'He really is a devil' Elis thought.
"What did you think I was?" he asked after hearing her thoughts.
"You can read my mind?" she said surprised at what she just realized.
"Of course. I'm a demon after all" he said and gazed at her smugly.
