Chapter 38: Cynthia

Daikon exited through the tunnel and saw an employee there waiting for him.

"Mr. Klein, you won your first battle. You will have your second battle tomorrow. Please make the appropriate arrangements." they said, handing him a new pass, replacing his old one.

"Thank you." he said, taking the pass. He then went into the trainers section of the stands and took a seat. He focused on the battle in front of him, trying to prepare himself for his upcoming battles.

"Hey gorgeous."

Daikon looked over and saw last year's 4th place winner, Chelsea Gampe. She was wearing a light blue t shirt and camouflage shorts. Her green hair was pulled up in a messy bun and she wore light makeup, making her look stunning.

"Mrs. Gampe, how are you?"

Hearing this she frowned, giving Daikon a pouting look. "You talking to my mother? I'm Chelsea, bright eyes." she said, throwing him a teasing look.

Daikon ignored it and turned his attention to the battle. Espeon gave Chelsea a side glance before closing her eyes again. Chelsea smiled at Espeon, "Your Espeon is cute and powerful. You did a good job training her."

Daikon smiled and petted her head, "Thank you."

His Pokemon were his pride and joy and when people complimented him he felt like an accomplishment. Seeing his smile, Chelsea was slightly stunned before smiling back.

"You really are dangerous." she said, shaking her head.

Daikon ignored her and watched the battle wrap up with the ref declaring the winner.

'She should be my opponent tomorrow.' Daikon thought, watching the young girl walk off the stage.

Chelsea saw him staring at the girl and starting to pout. "A beautiful girl is sitting next to you but you end up staring at another girl? How cruel." she pouted, crossing her arms.

Daikon gave her an annoyed look, "She is my next opponent. Don't say such stupid things."

His next opponent seemed to use poison type Pokemon as the two Pokémon he saw in today's fight were Seviper and Arbok.

'Espeon should be able to take care of her.'

Daikon looked over and saw that Chelsea was still pouting. Although she looked cute he still ignored her and waited for the next battle. Seeing that Daikon wasn't falling for her charade she quit pouting and looked at him curiously.

"Can I ask you something?" she asked, the playfulness in her voice was gone.

"You just did." Daikon answered, not looking at her.

"Don't be a douche."

Letting out a sigh, he wondered why this woman was so focused on him. He didn't have many interactions with women and his grandfather told him to ignore them until he was older.

"Fine. What do you want to ask me?"

"You are clearly are an aura user but I can't feel any aura coming from you. Even if you mastered concealing your aura I would feel something but from you… I feel a different power. Something raw and powerful, not like aura." she said, speaking her mind.

Daikon shifted his eyes to the girl who he thought just liked to mess around. She was able to tell that he didn't cultivate with aura by looking at him.

'This women is too perceptive.' he thought, becoming more cautious.

"You're right. I don't cultivate aura." Daikon said plainly, not elebortating.

Chelsea waited for him to eleborate but when he didn't she became frustrated.

"Pah! Who cares about you!?" she said frustrated, standing up from her seat and walking away.

A smile appeared on Daikon's face as he watched her walk away. He didn't pretend that she didn't have a nice figure and gave her ass a glance.

He shook his head, trying to clear away those thoughts. 'Grandpa is right, women are dangerous.'

The next battle went on without any excitement and he left the stands to go back to his room. To his surprise, outside his room was Professor Oak and a blonde lady with a small girl beside her.

"Daikon my boy! Good job on the first round." the professor exclaimed, patting Daikon's shoulder.

"Thank you professor."

"Daikon I would like you to meet someone. This is-"

"Cynthia Shirona. Sinnoh Champion. It's an honour to meet you Miss Cynthia." Daikon said politefully, even giving her a small bow.

Cynthia smiled and looked at Professor Oak. "You're right, professor. He is a promising trainer." she said with a smile.

"My eyes are never wrong." Professor Oak said with pride in his voice.

Cynthia turned towards Daikon and said, "I watched your first battle. I am impressed with the way your trained your pokemon and the trust you share."

"Thank you Miss Cynthia." Daikon said, a smiling creeped on his face.

The girl beside Cynthia seemed to start to figgit and looked at daikon then at Cynthia.

"This is my daughter Rose. She is a year younger than you and is also a trainer. Though she doesn't like training that much and often likes to mess around." Cynthia said as she introduced her daughter.

Rose seemed to angry at her mother and gave her a glare before looking at Daikon with a shy expression.

Daikon was mometarily stunned when he heard this. 'Cynthia has a daughter?'

He had watched Cynthia's battles growing up and even heard the profesoor talk about her but he never heard she had a husband or a daughter.

Pulling himself from his thoughts, he looked at Rose and smiled. "Pleasure to meet you Rose, I'm Daikon Klein."

Rose saw his smile and looked down quickly, her face turning slightly pink. "Hello." she muttered to the ground.

Seeing her daughters actions, Cynthia shook her head slightly. Professor Oak chuckled at the sight and silently gave Daikon a thumbs up.

"We just wanted to meet you before your battles tomorrow. Good luck in the tournament. We will be cheering for you." Cynthia said, pulling her shy daughter away.

Daikon watched the Sinnoh Champion leave and let out a breath he had subconsciously be holding. Though she hid it well, he could feel her strength and it frightened him.

"Lots of people wanted to meet you after your battle but I didn't let them. She was the only one that I didn't have the ability to say no to." Professor Oak said.

"It's not a problem. It is an honour to meet the Sinnoh Champion. Though I didn't know she had a daughter."

"Not many people do. The child's father is also unknown."

Daikon nodded his head and talked a little longer with the professor before entering his villa. Laying on his bed he closed his eyes before falling into a dreamless sleep.
