Chapter 6: The Ball Part 2
Descending the stairs trying my best not to stumble over my gown I found my parents waiting for me at the front door, their faces filled with admiration as they watched me get closer.
"My darling girl. You look absolutely stunning." My father said as he hugged me, squeezing me tightly to his chest. "Thank you, Papa" looking over to my mother I saw her smile, eyes clouding up. "What is the matter, Mama?" , as if being snapped out of a daze she looked at me. "huh, Oh nothing darling. I am just so proud of the beauty you have become. And I am so glad to see you carrying yourself with confidence." I blushed at the compliment, "Thank you, Mama"
My father, slipping into his coat and straightening his tie asked, "Shall we leave then?"
As we entered Mistwood Estate I felt a bit anxious, coming into view of the mansion I held my breath for a moment, amazed by the building in front of me.
There were at least 3 floors, Ivy crawled up the sides of the stone walls and rose bushes and other scented flowers grew around the edges. Intricate stained glass adorned nearly every window.
Stepping out of the carriage I turned to see the view, The mansion overlooked the entire estate, Although it was getting dark now I could still see the faint outlines of hills and the elder trees and another forestry that stretched across the land. It was breathtaking.
