Chapter 78: Tell me. Are you with Char?
The next day was another normal day, Liam and Charlotte left and now, Christopher and Kaylee were left alone in the house.
Christopher was sitting beside Kaylee while looking at her as she was busy reading a book in her hand. "Aren't you going to give me your time?"
Kaylee put the book down on a table, kissed Christopher, grabbed her book, and started to read again.
Christopher chuckled. "You can't be disturbed."
Kaylee smiled. "Later okay?" She said without looking at him.
Christopher stood up and walked away. After a minute, he returned with wine in his right hand and two glasses on his left.
He sat down, placed the glasses on the table, opened the bottle, and poured wine into the glasses. "Have some drinks while you are reading," he said.
Kaylee nodded as she continued reading.
Christopher smiled and drank some wine. "By the way, I got a call from Liam a while ago, he said your grandma still needs to undergo some tests and treatments before we can take her home. But we have their permission to take her outside for a day. Let's take her somewhere."
Hearing that, Kaylee closed the book in her hand, looked up at Christopher, and moved closer to him. She smiled and said. "Really? Thank you so much. I know you're under pressure because of me." She pouted. "I mean because your father doesn't like me."
Christopher hugged her and kissed her lips. "He will like you, trust me." Kaylee smiled. "I trust you."
Christopher pulled away a little when his phone rang. He took his phone from his pocket and checked who was calling. It was an unknown number. He looked at Kaylee and smiled. "I need to take this." She nodded as she looked at Christopher's back.
"Hello?" It takes seconds before someone from the other line responds. "President Jarvis?"
"Who's this?"
"It's me, Noelle Vermillion. I need to talk to you regarding your proposal. The Chairman agreed to it, but we have conditions. Let's talk about it personally since it's kind of important. I'll let my assistant schedule the meeting. Is that okay?"
"Alright, then I'll see you at the meeting." When the call ended, he dialed Liam's number and answered it after the third ring.
"Help me look up some information related to Kaylee's parents."
Liam signed on the other line, "You're doing it again. Why don't you just ask Kaylee about that? She might get mad at you if you keep doing this."
"Tell me. Are you with Char?" Christopher asked. Liam was silent for a moment then chuckled. "How did you know?"
"Because it seems like you don't want to do your work."
Liam was speechless. "It's about the Vermillions. I want you to find out if they were related to Vermillion. I have a feeling that it's her mother. " Christopher continued.
"Oh, Alright. I'll look into them."
After the phone calls, Christopher returned to Kaylee but she was not there. He went upstairs and he saw her lying on their bed. She looked at him and smiled. "Who was that?" He walked over to her and then sat down next to her.
"It was Noelle Vermillion, it's about the proposal between Jarvis and Vermillion." He kissed her nose. "Then I asked Liam to look into something."
Kaylee sat up and looked at him. "When can we take grandma out?" Christopher smiled. "I'll ask Liam okay? Let's rest for today since we're going back to work tomorrow."
Kaylee nodded as they lay down on the bed.
