Chapter 6: First Love
There is a saying, you can forget about your ex or lover in a second, but you can't ever forget about your first love. This is exactly what she felt right now, looking at the face that doesn't change much despite the time, the voice that got deeper and hearing her own heartbeat in her chest. She knows, it's him.
He seems to realize that she wasn't paying attention, "Miss Adeline, are you alright?". With that, she snapped back from her thought. "Greeting, President Jun. I'm sorry i wasn't paying attention." , she said apologetically.
"Let me introduce myself, my name is Adeline, and yes i'm the writer of the story that you have chosen some days ago." , she said politely.
After she said that, Jun smiled and gestured her to sit. After that, he sat on the opposite side. Not long after, a woman entered the room and put a stack of paper in front of her.
"Here is the contract for our cooperation, you can take a look at it and see if there is anything that you want to change" , Jun said.
She picked up the contract in front of her and read it carefully. Honestly, the contract is really favorable for her. As an amateur writer, getting your story accepted by such a big company is already a favorable event, but who knows that he really put a lot of effort for the story.
As the contract written, she only need to come over to work and rewrite the story then revise it. More importantly, other than the copyright revenue for the story, she also will got salary every week for 2 weeks
It tooks her 5 minutes to finish reading the contract, she doesn't have any complain for it and immediately signed her name on it.
"The contract is alright, i agree to it. But i have one question, is it okay if i ask you about it sir?" , Adeline said.
Still with the same smile on his face, he answered "Sure, you can ask anything. I will do my best to answer it"
"This... Where is my office?" , she saw it earlier in the contract, she will got an office for herself, since she agreed to work here in the future, she planned to decorate it as soon as posibble.
Because Adeline didn't dare to look at him, she can only hear him chuckling. She raised her head and her eyes met his. She startled and unknowingly bowed her head again, she can hear her heart thumping wildly.
"Miss Adeline, if i somehow make you uncomfortable, you can say it and i will let my assistant handle it in my stead." , Jun sighed.
This is the first time he felt distressed about handling something. Actually, he doesn't need to take care about this job personally, but because he personally chose this story, he has to handle it himself.
When Adeline heard it, she froze for a second. The warmth that she felt a second ago suddenly disappeared, she laughed at herself. 'Adel, what are you doing? You have changed, so does him. You should stop thinking about him'
After she said that in her heart, she calmed herself and raised her head. Now it's different, she doesn't panic anymore when facing that face, there is only a little smile on her face.
"I'm sorry once again President, you reminded me of someone that i knew, so i was just a little uncomfortable. But, it's alright now, i'm sorry for the misunderstanding." , she apologized again.
"Someone you know?" , Jun mumbled slightly. He looked at the face in front of him, he can feels that she was very familiar. But he can't remember where did he see this face. He has been praised for having a very good memories, but for the first time ever, he forgotten something. It seems like he forgot something really important.
"President doesn't have to think too much about it, you just look like him. There is no way i would know someone as awesome as president right?" , Adeline said jokingly.
She wanted to lighten the mood, also she want to avoid this topic as much as posibble.
She thought that it was over but then she heard him talked, "But why do i feel like that you looks so familiar to me?"
Adeline looked at him and widened her eyes after hearing that. She wished that she could act normally at that time.
But alas, first love run so deep.
