Chapter 14: Mr. Delegate
That very morning of their second day of stay in country S, Belle received a call from the reception area that someone from the palace was looking for her.
She could not believe how fast the palace were as she rushed out from their room and received the man whom sent by the palace as a delegate.
When she arrived at the hotel's lobby, she looked around to see if the man was just around the corner. She did not know that the very man she wanted to meet disguised himself as an employee of the palace.
"Miss Yang?" the man called her out. She turned around as the voice came from her behind.
"Yes, that's me and you are?" Belle could not help but be in awe after seeing the man in front of her. He had that jet black hair and a golden eyes. He had a handsome face in other words but there's something about him that she could not discern. He had that mysterious aura around him and he doesn't seem like a regular employee from the palace.
Seeing her in the broad daylight gives him time to register her into his mind. He could feel that his inner beast wanted to pin her down but it's too early and the woman doesn't seemed to be a typical one. He wanted to know her more. A faint smile hanged on his lips before he walked towards Belle.
There's a long silence between them as their eyes do the talking but neither of their thoughts coincided with each other.
After a long while, the man recovered from his daze. He offered his hand and introduced himself to Belle.
"I'm Mikhāʼīl. Just call me Michael. It's my English name. It's easy to remember too." he sounded so amicable so far from the man he was last night.
"I'm Belle Yang." she introduced herself shortly and with her business smile.
"Shall we?" Mikhāʼīl motioned her to sit on the sofa. She just nodded and followed the man on the sofa. Mikhāʼīl had a laptop with him and the USB that she left last night.
Seeing that he's reviewing her proposal, she felt that she's one step closer to her goal. The man carefully studied her proposal and found it satisfying at the end. From time to time, he would raise a question over some things and Belle on the other hand answered them satisfactorily.
Belle could not be more happier as moments passed by. She clearly saw that the man was quite delighted by her proposal and considering to partner with them.
"I see nothing wrong with it and it seemed favorable on both parties as well, so I don't think there's nothing wrong with a partnership with the Yang Empire." Mikhāʼīl said.
She made the proposal of course she knew what are the contents. She knew that anyone will see that proposal would want to partner with the Yang Empire.
"So, I guess it's a done deal Michael?" she asked with a face plastered with a business smile.
"Yup. So, when will we sign the contract?" he asked. He really liked the proposal and by thinking about it, it had endless possibilities that could alleviate their current status on the world market.
Despite of being rich in gold and oil, the country did not have that of good standing in the world market given that the stock prices in the country was not stable. And by partnering by the Yang Empire, he could see that it would benefit them a lot.
"If you're okay with it, we can sign it now. I'll have my assistant bring it over." she said while fishing out her phone from her purse.
"Sure. Just take your time. I have something to do, I'll be back." said Mikhāʼīl and hastily left the lounge. Belle did not bother as to why was the man was in hurry as long as they can seal the deal now. She will not go back home empty handed and let the company to fall into the gutter.
Her great grandfather poured out his soul during the time he lead the company and she could not let it gone to waste.
Soon after Mikhāʼīl left, Ren Tao appeared at the lounge along with the contract Belle asked him to bring.
"Thanks Ren." she said while sipping her juice. Ren rolled his eyes before he left out of annoyance. He was watching his favorite show when the demoness called her for such trivial matter but still, he didn't say anything. He could roll his eyes because the demoness can't see it. If she can, she will surely flare up.
Ren walked back to the hallway of the hotel when he noticed a man that was clad with an all white suite and the most distinguished part on his face was his golden irises. He was like an eagle scouting for a prey to hunt.
He could not believe that he would see the legendary figure of the Underworld, Mikhāʼīl Khaled.
He was one of the three kings of the underworld. Why would he appear in this country? He was thinking about it and the news he gathered from the time he was nowhere to be found and that's the time also that this small country gained it's freedom from the terrorists and bandits.
To put things together, is he the leader of this small country?
Lost in his thoughts, he was staring at the man enough for him to take notice of his presence. Mikhāʼīl looked at Ren Tao with a bone chilling stare. It was a very different aura he gave when he was with Belle earlier. It had a bloodlust and an urge to kill him in that instance.
Ren retracted his gaze off from him and slightly bowed to the king he met. Mikhāʼīl could not be more bothered than he is. He went back to the area where he and Belle was talking about business matters.
Ren had a gape on his mouth after he saw that Mikhāʼīl went to where he came from. It also proved that the man Belle was meeting was indeed the man who reigns the underworld.
