Chapter 2: A New Life
Something bright caught my attention in the darkness, I see light dots dancing around in my field of vision. "I'm dead" this is the first thought came into my mind. My parents should be happy, right?
Wait a minute…
I can feel, something soft under me as if I am in a bed, and I'm breathing too! Didn't I died?!
Feeling more and more confused by every single minute, I move my hand and realised that I'm actually lying on the grass. When I open my eyes I saw the canopy of a forest.
[Where am I?]
I thought out loud.
[Ouch]
It seems I am injury, why though? There were bruise marks all over my body and my nose seems to be broken. It seems as if I've mugged.
[sigh]
Sighing to myself I got to my feet, it is then I realise that I am at least a foot shorter, my limbs are smaller and more fragile than they were before.
Did my body just got shrunk?!?
Thinking something stupid, I start to wander off, suddenly with light headache memories start to flood in.
A boy named Ren who lives in an orphanage nearby and that boy is currently me, but why did that happen? How does it happen? Those questions flood my brain, couple that with my injuries and headache and I nearly fainted.
[Ren]
When I hear a strong male voice, I knew, who he was 'the caretaker'. He was the one responsible for all activities of the orphanage, he was a strict character and never let any mistake by anyone to go under the rug.
[Get your filthy self clean and come to the common room today is adoption day.]
The adoption day is when the orphanage is open to any adult to come and adopt any child they want. The Orphanage doesn't authorise is the person identification which leads to children sometimes adopted by shady personnel and used as a slave or got sold for money.
I followed 'the caretaker' that to the orphanage building, it was an old style mansion with three floors and a backyard.
There are three bathhouses in the building, I went to the one on the ground floor since it was the nearest one but it was locked, maybe someone is already in there, thinking that I started to go toward the set of flights which let to the second floor.

A voice as soft as early morning breeze rang out. Turning back I see a girl about fourteen was standing beside the door.
She has blonde hair in a long braid which reaches to her waist and green eyes which seems to sparkle every now and then. Her name is Sylvia. She came to our orphanage only a month ago. She is a mystery to everybody in the orphanage since she only kept to herself since arriving.
After five minutes I got myself cleaned up and went to the common hall. It is a huge hall with a very high ceiling. Every child from the house is standing in straight queues, I too joined the last one. Every child is in the range of fourteen to sixteen years of age.
About five minutes later, a huge crowd of adults come inside and started to walk toward us, a few went past me but don't show any interest. A woman dressed in all black was talking to Sylvia, who was standing right beside me.
After an hour later about a third of children got adopted while remaining ones have no choice but wait for another month.
Expecting nothing different a went to the dormitory and climb inside my bed, even though it is still noon I feel exhausted and want to sleep.
[Ren get your lazy ass right here. ]
Caretaker's booming voice resounded sending slight tremors in the wall of the building as well as chills through my spine. I hurriedly go to his office and saw him at his table but he wasn't alone, Sylvia and the women in the black dress were also there sitting on the opposite side of his table. She I enter the all of them looked toward me with a different reaction, Sylvia was beaming while the caretaker was a bit bored and woman has a deadpan face, her emotions are unreadable.

The caretaker announced in a serious voice.
