Chapter 10: Internet
"Finally! I have been longing to get some privacy. It has been a whole week since I came to this world but knows so little general knowledge."
Xander was the best example of what we call Nerd.
One thing which Xander loved was Programming and modifying the latest gadgets released on the market. Most commonly used programming languages like C, C++, Java, PHP, Ruby, C#, Python, Shell etc. are already mastered by him. He is a well-known figure in the field of Programming Competitions.
It is common knowledge to the family and friend of Xander in which field, he is going to continue his graduation. In spite of belonging to a business family, his father never rejected or disapproved of his interests.
Peter and Sebastian always wanted to develop in the field of the Software market but having little to no knowledge have stopped their advancements. They have initiated some projects but are unable to hire capable employees to improve the stagnant growth. Having placed their hopes in the new generation and also providing a platform to their children is the best solution they can get. Thanks to that, technical knowledge of Xan has Sky-rocketed to a whole new level, despite being never learned in his past life.
"I can use this knowledge to earn money for the resources I need in the future."
Xan was somewhat stiff in the beginning when he tried to use the laptop, but he has a soul of cultivator as well as memories of Xander. With the combination of both, even a donkey is capable of becoming a professional.
Xan searched for anything and everything he came across on the Internet. From legends to the government, government to peoples, peoples to gods, gods to celebrities, celebrities to the latest trends. He even came across a battle between netizens[1] and a small-time celebrity.
The Internet is initially formed with the idea to connect multiple computers which will help in sharing and accessing of data simple. The Internet began as a U.S. Department of Defense network to link scientists and university professors around the world. And, now it has developed to a giant black hole which will absorb everything given to it. Despite all the information, it still shows sign of development to an unimaginable degree.
Various kinds of information keep on showing on the screen. Tabs after tab were brought up. The speed of his fingers keeps on increasing. If any professional gamer has been present here, he would have kneeled in front of Xan.
Action Per Minute or APM of professional gamers ranges from 300 to 400. APM of Xan, if calculated, has exceeded 600.
By luck or by instinct, Xan found himself in some of the p... *huh* illegal sites. After seeing the contents, some reaction which he never thought would occur occurred.
"Damn! This body is so out of my control."
"I never thought people share their private moments and seeing the number of videos and sites it is not a small number."
"What the f*ck! There are so many companies in s*x business."
"If there has not been a restriction in the lower realms some of the dual cultivators would have loved to join in this business."
After calming his mind, he goes back to surf the net.
Upper realms also have many brothels and beauty houses. But they are not developed like the businesses in modern times.
The upper realm is a dog eats dog world. Death is as common as seeing plants on the roadside. The high-level cultivators focus on their cultivation and developing their family, clan, faction or sect. There are very few cultivators who focus on common populace unlike people in lower realms.
Another factor which is responsible is the facilities and resources provided in technological development were safeguarded by the government. It will be like dream come true in upper realms.
When the first ray of light entered his room. Xan stops all his movement.
"I need to absorb the Yang Qi provided in the morning. It will help in advancing my cultivation."
After a short meditation, Xan walks out of his room and proceded towards the lawn.
All the housekeepers were surprised to see him walking so early in the morning.
"Prepare juice and some fruits for me. Bring it on the lawn after an hour."
Xan instructed one of them while walking.
"Yes."
One of them replied despite feeling surprised.
When he reached the lawn, he found a spot where the Yang Energy is most concentrated and starts meditating.
All of the maidservants were a bit shocked seeing their young master who never took part in physical activity, waking up early and meditating in the middle of the lawn.
An hour of meditation has helped Xan in collecting a small amount of Yang Qi.
Chaos leads to the formation of the Universe. Laws are the elements which maintain the balance of the Universe. Chaos-Destruction, Space-Time, Life-Death, and Yin-Yang are the laws of the higher hierarchy. Elemental laws and Weaponry laws are in the lower hierarchy.
Absorbing Yang Qi helps in the advancement of Yang Law, but it is difficult to break even the first barrier of mastering it. Absorbing this minuscule amount of Yang Qi during foundation building is a common practice in Upper Realms.
Yang Qi helps in the nourishment of bones, nerves, muscles, tendons, organs, and blood for Body Cultivators. The amount produced by the sun is only useful during the Mortal Realms of Body Cultivation. Every cultivator nourishes their body with the help of Laws depending on the path they have chosen.
