Chapter 53: A Job
"Oh, my, Madam Li and Miss Li, what a nice surprise meeting you here," Emily said walking up to the group of three's table. Emily Xu noticed Fan MeiLi but chose to ignore her and kept her pleasant smile toward the Li woman.
"I'll be it's a surprise. Tell me, Emily, what are you even doing here?" Li Na said smirking at Emily while leaning back in her seat. Madam Li gave her daughter a playful disapproving look while returning her attention back to Emily. Tell me, dear, why are you her?" She asked with a warm smile.
"I had a business lunch that just ended when I happen to see you as I was leaving," Emily said laughing.
Madam Li nodded her head and then looked at Fan MeiLi, "Sorry, dear, let me introduce you. This is..." "Emily Xu, one of Li Wei's friends and business partners. Li Wei introduced us a few months ago." Fan MeiLi said giving Emily a bright smile.
"Yes, I was one of the luckiest few who Li Wei introduced me to, it's very nice to meet you again Miss Fan," Emily said giving a smile that never reached her eyes.
Li Na leaned on her hand, "So tell me, Emily, what do you think of Miss Fan as my brother's girlfriend?" She asked.
"She is a lovely lady who makes Li Wei very happy, so there are no other words that are needed," Emily said through all the will power she could muster. It was hard enough having to watch the guy she loved being with another woman but to compliment her is pure tortured.
Madam Li kept smiling but looking at Fan MeiLi she decided to end this conversation. She didn't want the lady who finally made her son interested in a romantic relationship too uncomfortable. "Well it was very nice meeting you Emily, but I think we'll be leaving soon." She said signaling the wait staff for the bill.
Emily noticed that she was being dismissed but still kept her polite smile plastered on her face. "I see, well I need to be on my way as well. Another meeting and not enough time for rest, as the saying goes." Bowing her head and walking toward the door.
Outside the store, the smile on Emily's face vanished and was replaced by such a scary face that it made some people back away in fear. Getting into her private car, "President Xu, should we head to the company?" The driver asked.
"No, go to 'Sorrow Road.'" She said pulling out her phone and dialing a number.
"Hello?" A deep voice answered on the other side.
"You told me that if I ever needed a favor you'll help me with no questions asked. Is that offer still on the table?" Emily said closing her eyes.
"Of course, my pet. What do you wish to rid from your eyes." The deep voice said in a wicked voice.
"There is someone who has been blackening my view for a while, but I'm still debating on if she should get hurt or disappear. I just wanted to know if you were willing to do anything no matter the risk."
"I told you before, my pet, I'll do whatever you need. All you had to do is say the word." The deep voice said with a wicked laugh at the end of his statement.
Hanging up the phone, Emily had all the information that she needed to know. With an evil smile on her face, 'I'll completely destroy you, Fan. Mei. Li.' Emily thought while letting out a laugh as the car drove here to the dark side of the city.
Back in the restaurant. the trio finished paying for their meals and made their way toward the exit. Standing at the door Fan MeiLi smile, "I had a very nice time, Madam Li and Miss Li." She said.
"Please, don't be so formal with me, we are after all around the same age. Since you are close to my brother then I'll allow you to call me in an informal way." Li Na said.
"Then I'll take you up on your advice and please do the same for myself." Fan MeiLi said. "Miss Fan, I also had a nice time and was glad to know you better. I know you don't have any idea on how this relationship will is going to end up but please take care of my son." Madam Li said with a warm smile.
On the outside, Fan MeiLi smile but she felt bad for lying to such a nice lady. When she was in her car driving home, she had such a sad frown on her face. 'Why, oh Why did my life get so chaotic. If only the world could be more nice and peaceful.' Fan MeiLi thought but soon regretted that thought.
Pulling over, she leaned over and rested her head on the steering wheel because of the burst of pain in her gut. Looking up she tried to see what or who was calling out for her to save, without screaming and alerting those around her. Taking a deep breath she looked around through teary eyes and saw a young lady running from a large group.
Putting her car into drive, she hoped that this weird feeling didn't lead her into more chaotic trouble.
