Chapter 2: Not Interested

"Well, I won't hold my breath waiting because I know that will never happen. I already learned my lesson the hard way. I won't get fooled the third time." She retorted as she closed her laptop lid firmly. Sheena just shook her head while chuckling.

"What?" Maine asked with raised eyebrows.

"I swear, girl. You should stop this "I'm-now-a-man-hater-and-I-don't-care-about-love-anymore" drama because it doesn't suit you." Sheena guffawed which made Maine throw her so called best friend dagger looks.

"And I swear, Sheena I will disown you as my best friend if you don't stop pestering me about my non-existent "love life"...and what do you mean it doesn't suit me?" She questioned with a perplexed stare, her voice rising a bit. Sheena moved closer to her and side hugged her affectionately.

"Girl, you are a full-pledged romantic. Even your pseudonym says as much...Ms. Romantic Bella. You love deeply, giving your best in your relationships. You are one of the most caring, sweet and dedicated woman I have ever met. You deserve to be loved wholly and be happily in love. Your only flaw though is that you may have had such bad taste in men or that you are too trusting that's why a-holes take advantage of you. But I believe there is still hope for you to improve on that area so don't give up yet!" Sheena explained earnestly. Maine shoved her friend playfully upon hearing those words.

"Well, I was almost about to swoon over with your initial praises then you followed it up with an insult. Thanks a lot, beshy!" She muttered. Sheena just laughed out loud.

"Oh, don't be such a baby! I'm just being straightforward with you. And all I'm saying is that you just have to wait for the perfect man for you. Don't give up so easily. The right one will come in God's perfect time. Have faith." Her friend lectured.

"Sorry but I'm done with that love thing. The perfect boyfriend just exist in novels. Real talk. A lot of people read my stories because they don't experience that in real life. You want me to wait for Mr. Perfect Boyfriend? Well, I'm not interested anymore. Thank you very much!" She retorted. Sheena just snorted.

"Then you should change your pseudonym to Ms. Pessimistic Bella. That would be more suited for you." Sheena deadpanned.

"Whatever, beshy. My break is up. I better go back to the kitchen to prepare for the afternoon grind. Please take charge here out front later, okay?" She asked of her friend as she gathered her things to leave. Sheena just raised her hand with an okay sign as she took out her ringing phone from her bag.

As she turn towards the kitchen, Maine's gaze passed by the lone customer who is hunched on the table, still busy with his phone. She then shrugged.

"Not interested..." She told herself determinedly.
