Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Family
It's been five long years of training and character building, and everyone has changed a lot. Let's start with Leon, he stands 6'6 feet tall, short black hair, brown eyes. He has two big diagonal scars on his back, one big diagonal one across his chest, and a scar on the back of his left leg. The three big scars he got in the battle with Dracos, the one on his leg he got earlier on in his life. Leon doesn't wear the traditional garments of a king, he doesn't even wear his crown. He is more comfortable in armor leggings. His preferred attire is armor leggings with a chain mail shirt, that covers his torso and arms. On other days he just goes shirtless. Leon is a nice guy and easy to get along with, he cares about the needs of his people more than himself and will do whatever it takes to keep his people safe. He's nice unless you piss him off, if you do don't bother begging for mercy, because you will receive none.
Up next Lilynette, she stands 6'6 feet tall as well, her hair is a mix of light brown and blonde, it also stretches down her back, and her eyes are a mix of blue and green. Lilynette is a calm, sweet person who cares about her people, or at least she tries to. Not that she hates the people or anything like that, she's just not the best at social interaction. Even though there are dress makers in the kingdom who are more than willing to make her any dress, she refuses to accept them. She feels uncomfortable in a dress, so she wears every day attire that everyone else wears. Some people say that even though she dresses like a commoner, her beauty still shines through. But say one wrong word and you better have your grave dug and will wrote. She has a fierce temper, and is easy to make made, this is where Milena and Valinteena get their temper from. When she's mad the only person, who can calm her down is Leon.
Moving on, now we take a look at their children, the princes and princesses of the kingdom. First up is Maclin. He stands a solid 6 feet tall, has brown eyes, his hair is black like his fathers and keeps his hair in a buzz cut style. Maclin can be a bit arrogant, especially in battle. He often boasts that he is the strongest amongst his brothers and sisters, even though he has never once beaten Lazariss. Maclin spends most of his day training or looking for a good fight to improve his style. He can usually be found in the training yard, court yard, or in his room. Maclin's attire is simple everyday shoes, and pants. He wears a special sleeveless shirt.
Lancelot is 5'10 feet tall, his hair is black and reaches his shoulders, his eyes are light brown and light green, and is a bit skinnier than his brothers. He wears common black pants, and shirts. He wears a cloak that is black on the outside, and crimson on the inside. He wears it because it's comfortable and keeps him cool in the heat. His final piece of clothing is his straw hat. It has a single red ring around it, and the ends of the hat are a little worn down. He spends most of his days reading books and looking for another good book to read. And he spends the rest of his time seducing women. No, I did not stutter. Lancelot is a lady killer, metaphorically speaking of course. Yes, he's a book worm and a lady's man, a very rare combo.
He's very good at hiding it though, the only person to find out at first was his younger brother Lazariss, but he could care less about what his older brothers do in their spare time. Now from what I just told you it may seem like Lancelot is a deceiver of sorts, that's not it at all. In fact, he is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet.
Now we move on to the daughters, the twins. First up is Milena. She's a solid six feet tall, has green eyes, long black hair that reaches all the way down her back, and a bit of a temper. Her attire is to some comfortable, and others too revealing. The color of most of her clothes is black, or dark blue. She also has her clothes custom made and has them made to be easy to move around in. Her dress exposes almost all of her legs and cleavage, her cup size is D so not a lot left to the imagination basically. Milena spends almost all of her time…drinking. She's what you would call a hardcore drinker. She drinks whatever kind of rum, beer, or any kind of alcohol she can get her hands on, whenever she wants. And she doesn't care what it is as long as it can get her drunk and has a flavor. She does have a bit of a problem when she drinks, although she would argue it's only a problem when she runs out.
Milena is an emotional drunk, but on a new level. All it takes is one word to put her into a state of extreme depression, sadness, anger, or happiness. And unlike most drunks, you can't sober her up by say throwing her into a small lake, knocking her out, or talking to her. The only way she gets sober is to simply wait for the liquor to wear off. It's always a terrifying wait.
Now to tell you about Valinteena. She is 5'8 feet tall, has blond hair that just goes past her neck in the back, her eyes are a light green that shines in the light, and much like her mother and sister has a temper, but she doesn't show it as much. She mainly wears basic dresses, not to frilly and not to revealing like Milena's, but is easy to move in. her dress colors are coal black with a light shade of ruby. Valinteena is a huge animal lover, she's probably the biggest one the world will ever know.
She spends most of her time in the stables with all the horses, cows, goats, and chickens. Valinteena is one of those people that think animals are above humanity, and she despises humans. With the exceptions of her family. Allow me to explain her reasons for hating humanity.
On her first mission with her family, they were sent to a nearby kingdom to dispatch a small group of a couple hundred marauders who were planning to kill mostly everyone in the kingdom. This would also be her first taste of real combat, and violence. The kingdom was in the far east, the name of this kingdom is Sil'nyy.
When they first arrived at Sil'nyy, the first thing they saw was the commoner districts just outside the kingdom where the poor and sick were forced to stay had been decimated. The marauders had slaughtered the innocent people who resided there. No one was spared, not even the children. Along with Valinteena was her father Leon, and her brothers Maclin, and Lazariss. They were quick to attack, while Valinteena was hesitant. All she saw was mindless bloodshed, violence, and horror.
Upon seeing this Valinteena learned that all humans are cruel by nature, even her own family; who was merciless in dispatching the marauders. She quickly learned that humans are not just cruel, but also greedy, selfish, and don't care about life and how precious it is. After the battle was over, and her family came out victorious, Valinteena left them momentarily to go cry under a tree. Not long after, a couple animals came to her side and comforted her. In that moment she felt a strange love coming from the animals, she also felt a fondness for them, that fondness soon turned into her love for animals.
Now I would be lying if I said none of her family tried to talk to her, and cheer her up, but she tuned them out most of the time. Her father Leon came to her side when she first went to cry under the tree. Leon is the only person Valinteena opened up to or talked kindly to for quite some time. She sometimes talks to her brothers and sisters. She asked Leon; "Why, why are humans capable of such cruelty?"
These were his words to her:
"To be honest, I don't know. I know not how long this world has existed, the gods will tell no one. When man was first born, there was no darkness in its heart, just love. But light cannot exist without darkness, love gave birth to hate. Some humans are born with darkness in their hearts and can never find forgiveness in anything or anyone. So they find joy in hurting others. But there are those who even though they live in a cruel world they find love in their hearts, and joy in helping others."
Valinteena "which is it for you father? Do you love or hate?
"For me its both. I won't lie to you; my life has been rough and miserable since the day I was born. My life went from rough to good when I met your mother, and then we had sons and daughters to love, train, and care for. This world is not kind, that is clear, but not all humans are the same and I'm not telling you to forgive everyone's actions, not even mine. I felt anger towards those men for what they did and killed them without mercy. If you learn anything from me learn this; sometimes in order to protect what you love you must be willing to take a life."
Valinteena spent the rest of that day comforted by her father, and a couple of animals. After that she would go to Leon for just about anything, ranging from advice to simple comfort. To put it simply she became a daddy's girl. The thought of Valinteena leaving everyone to spend the rest of her life with animals or raising an army of animals to kill humanity has come across everyone's minds. But of course, they quickly realized how ridicules that would be.
Now for the youngest amongst the family Lazariss. He is 6 feet tall, has short black hair that naturally spikes up in the front, blue eyes, and is very lazy. He spends most of his days sleeping. But surprisingly he doesn't spend all of his time sleeping. He spends the rest of his time in the smaller parts of the kingdom doing small favors, and tasks. Like delivering food or making a crying child smile. You know, helping out the little guy in a sense. The only people outside of the ones he helps who knows what he does is his brothers. The rest of them just assume he's sleeping. There is another trait Lazariss has that very few know about, he is skilled with a silver tongue. He has a way with words much like his father, he just doesn't have a lot of opportunities to demonstrate or use it.
So now that you know about the family, lets move on to the five kingdoms that govern most of the land. I say most because there are places where the authority of a kingdom does not reach. There are five kingdoms, one to the far North, the far South, the far East, the far West, and the one centered in the middle of the four. The kingdom in the middle is called Baile, it means home. The kingdom was renamed by Leon when he was made king. The kingdom to the North is called Kholodno, it means cold. It is names that because the kingdom is covered in snow most of the year, as it in in a much colder location compared to the others. The kingdom to the East is called Sil'nyy as I mentioned earlier, it means strong. It is named that because it has the largest army of all the kingdoms and they tend to boast of their strength.
The kingdom to the south is called Croga, it means brave. It is named that because the king of Croga is willing to fight alongside his soldiers. And finally, the kingdom to the West is called Cath Reidh, it means battle ready. It is named this because the King, Queen, and soldiers of this kingdom have either started fights that lead to a war or have been ready for them for three hundred years.
