I jumped down from my place if hiding, already in pursuit. Lynn turned a sharp corner, and I dashed after her. The vast crowds made it seem impossible for me to ever catch up. Finally, I made my way into the alley she had turned in.
Lynn was no where to be found. I should have expected this. Of course an ex lieutenant and trained assassin was good at disappearing.
With a frustrated sigh, I began to look for a clue.
As expected, the lieutenant had not left a single hair. I turned to leave the alley, when I had a strange feeling that someone was watching me.
I heard the snap of a twig, but did not react fast enough. Strong arms pulled me from the alley and into a door. Panic rushed through me, and I felt a sharp pressure against my neck.
"Who are you?" said a flat icy voice.
"I could ask the same." I spat out. but it seemed to lose it's ferocity in my time of panic.
"You obviously know that." said the dead voice. It must be Lynn. My hands began to shake, my whole life had been for this moment. and here I was, lost for words.
"Lynn?" I squeaked
"Why did you come here?" She said, voice full of power. Then the memories rushed through, the only thing I know of my mother.
"I was conceived of Liam." I said shakily. but the power rang through it.
