Chapter 13: "Devil-may-care night"
[Abi's POV]
I had a wakeful night due to excitement and worries. Excitement for my very first date and worries about something which is missing in me. Whatever, I have to gather myself and go to college and also to check out the atmosphere of our class. Last night, I forgot to mention, Nate that don't let anybody know about our meeting. Otherwise, I will definitely be an eyesore to each and every girl especially Richa. Now what more worries to me is the dress. What should I wear?
I am thinking to wear something casual, not sophisticated. To avoid many questions of people around and my besties. Here we go. "What should I wear? What should I wear", I kept murmuring while searching for favorable cloth?
"Aha! I got this". I said in a victory.
My beautiful and gorgeous Lola jeans. I love these jeans. It is skinny which helps my legs too well toned. Other than that it has pockets and is distressed. The top will go with this black is a red tie-front crop top with a crew neck and long sleeves. Now, come the shoes. I guess 2 lugs sole platform and lace-up will surely a match. Done.
I hope it will be perfect for a date. Okay, the final check on the mirror. Let's go.
" Hi people", I said in a cheerful voice to all three of them.
"You are looking different today", Blaire looked to me from up and down. "Anything special?"
"Nope, I... nothing just a casual dressing", I said in hurried to avoid any other questions. "Shall leave?"
"Hmmm, " Samantha said.
In college, everything is the same as every day. Only the thing changed is me.
"Abi did Nate spoken to you last night?" Blaire questioned in low voice.
"Yeah", I said.
" What he said?" Gianna asked curiously.
"Why so get curious?" I said. "Haven't you heard the curiosity kills the cat". I told.
" yes, we have heard that. But what Nate said to you. Anything special which is essential for us to know." She asserted.
"He... He told me that... He likes me and asked me out for a date... in the cafe", I said looking down my head.
"That's great. What you said?" Samantha asked.
"I said yes and we are meeting in a cafe near to our college", I said.
" Cafe? Near college? What kind of date it is? I mean the cafe", Blaire emphasis more on the cafe.
"Never expected a guy like Nate will select a cafe for a date," Gianna said in disappointment.
"Never mind it's just a meet up", I said looking ahead to Nate.
He was looking sexy. He was wearing a "blessed" short sleeve tee, crew neckline with screen print on it was hugging his body perfectly. I love those Judd slim tamper jeans which got good a lot with those white sneakers.
He was coming towards us and sat next to me.
"Hi, Abi. You are looking gorgeous", he said in a flirtatious manner.
" Thank You for the compliment. Same goes to you as well." I said with a small smile.
"After college, I will pick you up. But there is a slight change in the plan", He said. "I will be taking you somewhere else", He said in smile.
" What?Where? you asked me for a cafe, not for a mysterious place", I said in a panic.
" Don't worry. There is no need to panic. I will not go to murder you. Trust me you will go to love that place", He said in assurance.
"Okay. But pick me from near that cafe. I don't want anyone to recognize me especially with you." I requested him.
"Okay, sure babe. See you after college", He said and went back to Tyler.
Tyler looked at me with a smile and I gave a small smile to him. This guy always has a different ambiance in his surroundings. People try to get attention from him.
" Abi",
"Ha... yeah Blaire you were saying something", I asked.
" What you were imagining at looking, Nate." She said.
"Nothing. I hope not to get disappointed if I don't like the place where Nate will take me", I said and covered my thought about Tyler.
" Don't worry. He will take you to a nice place. Thank goodness changed the cafe idea because that's not a cup of tea to Nate", Gianna said in a laugh.
The time went smoothly without being annoyed and troubles. I packed up and said my friend's bye and left for the cafe.
I saw Nate's car, white BMW. He got from his car and greeted me with a hug. He asked me, "Can I blindfold you? So my surprise will not get ruin".
I nodded my head. He came near to me and was blindfolding me. My heart was pounding. It's the first time I felt like he will hear the sound of my heart. He slowly helped me to get in the car and he drove at high speed.
After an hour or later, we reached a location unknown to me. He got me out of the car and unfolded the satin cloth from my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes and the place was beautiful. It was a roller skating parlor.
"I don't know how to do skating?" I said to him in worried.
I have a fear of getting fall. So I never made an effort to learn.
"No worries I will teach you", He said calmly. " Let's go inside", he motioned to the door.
It is a very huge place and a high amount of people coming and playing skating on the beats of the music. It has beautiful color lights that occur on people who were skating on the smooth surface. Nate went to get the skate for both of us.
"Here take it and wear it carefully", He said to me handing those pairs of skates.
I wore it and we were ready to hit the ground.
" Woah, I will fall down. Please don't let go of me", I said to him in fear.
"I will not let you go. I will hold your hand and will not allow falling to any circumstance", He said in concern.
I just looked in his eyes with full of care and protection.
Later, we had ice cream but I did not share with Nate.
"Abi, do you know sharing is caring", He told me.
"Yes, I know. But I don't like to share my ice cream and chocolate bars", I explained to him my views.
He laughed at me. I enjoyed today's date. The warm presence of Nate. He managed the day and organized it well. It made me smile and made the heart filled with happiness. The day got passed and the evening spread its darkness filled with shining stars and half-moon on the cloud.
"Nate we should leave now", I told him.
" Let's have dinner, the surprise is still left for you to see", He said.
"Okay, I am starving", I said putting my hand on my stomach.
We reached a great high standards restaurant which has a rating of five stars. The atmosphere was pleasant.
"I booked the table for two of us. Did you like it?" He asked me pulling the chair like a gentleman for me to sit.
"Yesss. It's lovely", I said in surprise and sat.
The table was decorated with red roses and its fragrance can help you forget your stress. The food menu was already kept on our table. Nate holds it and asked me to order.
" You order whatever you like I am not a picky person", I said to him.
"Okay, I will do that. Waiter", He called. " Beef steaks smashed potatoes with sauteed asparagus and baby carrots, caesar salad, garlic cheese bread, brown chicken teriyaki rice bowl, Kochi prawns and two glass of red vines. In deserted get chocolate mousse cake after dinner", He said in closing the food menu and whispered something in the ear of the waiter.
Which made me suspicious about him.
"So Abi, till the foods arrive we can have a talk about you, your family, etc", He asked me while getting the glass filled with water.
"I have my mom, dad no other siblings. I love to read novels romantic, charming, ... ", I said. We continued our talks until the food arrived.
The food tasted good and the aroma of beef steak filled my heart with joyous. We were eating and were talking simultaneously. We finished our food with the tossed of glasses filled red vines. The waiter arrived on time and placed a dessert and I was shocked to read what was written on the white plate.
" Nate, Is it a prank?" I questioned him raising my head up with an awful smile in expectation of his answer.
"No", He said in rough." Abi, I love you", He said in confidence in his voice.
My eyes were wide and stunned to hear those words from him.
