Chapter 15: Promise
Liu Ying Yue's office,
Someone knocked on the door,
"Come in," said Liu Ying Yue without caring who was the one that knocks.
The person came in, and it's a man. He wore fully black outfits with a black mask and caps. This man was the one that snapped and recorded the video and he was also the one that spread it.
The man walked straight towards Liu Ying Yue and sit at the seat that was in front of her table. He stayed silent as he looked at the woman in front of him.
Liu Ying Yue too, stayed silent as she could feel the man staring at her as she continued to keep on doing her work.
Suddenly he sighed.
"You should look at my handsome face instead of that boring paper in front of you. I feel offended that you pay attention to a worthless piece of paper than me." said the man as he pouted.
Liu Ying Yue ignored him.
"YingYing!" said the man in a cute voice..,?
Liu Ying Yue cringed a little at the voice that the man just did. This time it's Liu Ying Yue turned to sighed, but she still ignored the man.
"YingYing, are you mad at me?"
No response.
"YingYing!!"
Liu Ying Yue finally stop doing what she's been doing.
"I have every reason to get mad at you," said Liu Ying Yue as she calmly stared at the innocent-looking-man face in front of her.
But the eye corner of Liu Ying Yue twitches as she saw the man made an innocent facial expression.
"What did I do wrong?" said the man innocently.
"You know so well what you did wrong," said Liu Ying Yue, annoyed.
"But you still going to do it later right?" replied the man as he emphases the 'right' word.
"But it's too early! And I never give you an order for that," said Liu Ying Yue, sternly.
The man grinned, "Hey! Look at the bright side! The plan still works!"
Liu Ying Yue could only shake her head, she doesn't know what to do with him anymore, she might appear angry at him, but if you look closely, there was a slight smile on her face. She could never get mad at the man in front of her.
"Julian, don't do it again next time."
Julian finally removed his caps and mask and revealed a stupid grin on his face. In Liu Ying Yue eyes it looks stupid but well, if others were looking at his face.., people might think Liu Ying Yue was blind.
"Promise." said the man.
The mysterious man that was in front of Liu Ying Yue was Julian, Alaric Julian.
He doesn't have any Chinese blood but he was a citizen of China. He was born and raised in China. Alaric Julian was a handsome young man, he was only 23 years old. He had a black short-hair and a pointed nose.
But his eyes, he had a magnificent eye, the color of his eyes was amber.
Everyone would fall deeply in love for him if one stared at his eyes.
Liu Ying Yue sighed and then rolled her eyes, she completely doesn't trust the man's promise, because he would end up doing it again.
"Yeah, right" replied Liu Ying Yue as she continued her work.
It was quiet for a while,
But not so long, the atmosphere suddenly turned serious.
Liu Ying Yue tense up, she knew what he would ask.
"So, what happened for the last few days when your knight shining in armor aren't around to protect you?" said Julian, sternly.
"You knew," replied Liu Ying Yue in a monotone voice.
"Liu Ying Yue."
The man was completely serious.
"Just some trouble, it's in the past now. Drop it."
"You almost died."
"Yeah, I know, but I'm alive now."
"Why didn't you bring any bodyguards with you?"
"I thought the company was safe enough."
"Well, you're an idiot if you think it was safe!"
"Julian, I'm fine now!"
Julian stayed silent for a while, both of stared at each other eyes, stubbornly. But then, Julian looked away before saying,
"Don't do that again, please. I don't want to lose you," said Julian softly.
Liu Ying Yue sighed and suddenly stood up. She walked around the table and stood in front of Julian.
Julian still doesn't look at her.
Liu Ying Yue slightly smlie as she bends down a little to hug Julian.
With her hugging Julian, the atmosphere turned to ease a little.
"I'm sorry. I promise," said Liu Ying Yue softly.
Julian tense body slowly calms down as he hugged her back, tightly.
For Julian, he doesn't care about everyone else. He only cares about this woman. Liu Ying Yue was his savior and his only family, even though he communicated with someone else, he would only think that those people are only a creature that breathing the same air as him and no one important.
Liu Ying Yue was the light that he had wished and granted. He doesn't want to lose her.
While in Liu Ying Yue point of view, Julian was important to her, but not in a-lover-kind-of-way. She simply thought that the man in her embrace was like an elder brother to her.
Even though his past was terrifying and others might not accept him, but Liu Ying Yue accept for who he was and helped him get through it.
Julian broke the hug and said as he looked at the woman in front of him, "Buy me a fried chicken as compensation for breaking my poor heart."
Liu Ying Yue was stunned and then she couldn't help but laugh, only to Julian, she would show this kind of side of her.
"Alright," said Liu Ying Yue as she smiled widely.
If others see the smile on Liu Ying Yue face, they would be frozen to death because the smile was too beautiful.
