"Ah, she's so cold. What happened to her over the years?", Sun thought.
When he was a kid, he wasn't happy about moving to Esperia despite the enticing magic and cultivation chances.
He wanted to live a normal life before but they weren't that rich. His mother took the chance and they moved to Esperia, knowing nothing of this world.
He was not very welcome in his school since he didn't know how to cultivate properly.
Crying over his misfortune, he turned on the television and saw a blonde girl around his age talking to the reporter.
"I want to help the people in need. I don't care if they're human or Esper. We are all of the same kind - a living being.", she said to the reporter.
She said that not long after Sun and other humans moved to here. It caused a national uproar at first. Many did not want to accept humans into their society and Sun had to endure these times.
But her words and her smile saved him of his misery. He was able to see light again.
Since then he watched everything about her that was broadcasted and to some degree, he fell in love with her.
But after two years, the family couldn't pay the TV bills and they had to live without TV.
Since then, he occasionally saw her on newspapers but didn't really look her up.
"She was a very lively and cute girl - now look at her...", Sun found it the current 'Charlotte' very disappointing.
"Ah, I don't really want to take her orders."
"You.", Charlotte's voice was sharp.
Sun looked around and realized that she meant him.
"Me?", Sun pointed at himself.
"You are only a Beginner 3, so you will be in the scouting team.", she said and pointed to the direction of a small group of guys.
"Ah. Whatever." Sun said.
"You! I'm giving you this position so that you won't drop out so quickly. If you lose a fight or rendered unconscious, you will lose and won't be able to take part in the third event.", Charlotte said. She was annoyed by Sun's attitude.
"You're only a Beginner 3! Come on. Don't bother with him, Miss.", some Advanced Rank guy came to her and led her to the base.
"Watch your mouth in the future! I don't know which family you come from, but better don't offend us.", he glanced at Sun for a second before following Charlotte to the base.
"Huh? What did I do to them? Unreasonable!", Sun thought.
Sun walked to his scouting team since he didn't want to stir up some trouble.
The objective now is to win, if he doesn't advance here, he won't be able to get to the first place to get the beast soul.
"Brat. Don't hold us back.", a cheeky Intermediate Rank guy of the scouting team said.
"Ah whatever, don't bother with me. Just do your job.", Sun said back.
He wanted to avoid unnecessary conversations.
...
Under some bushes, Sun's scouting team.
"Is this the place?", a scouting team member asked.
"Yes, do you see it from here?", the guy next to him asked.
"Wait. I'll use magic. Cover my aura."
"Yes! It's there, protected by 20 Intermediate Ranks and five Advanced Ranks.
"We need to report to Miss."
As the blue team found the enemy flag, the red team did as well.
"We someone to stay here. The others go back and report it."
"Sun, you stay here.", the same Intermediate guy from before said.
Sun agreed, he knew that he was just used by them since his rank is 'low'.
After that, the rest of the group left very quickly.
"Now I'm alone, huh?", Sun thought.
"Those guys, I could handle them very quickly with Phase out and Lucifer."
...
"Phase out. Soul Origin: activate."
The black mist appeared once again. Engulfing Sun's body.
After the transformation, Sun used phase-out to hide underground.
He moved in and closed the distance between them.
He figured that he can't take all of the head-ons, so he needed stealth and eliminate them one-by-one.
*Peng*
Sun shot out a blast of pure condensed magic compressed to the size of a bullet.
He wanted to take out the five Advanced Ranks before taking the flag.
He knows that the Intermediate Ranks won't be able to catch up to him with his speed.
The only dangerous ones are the Advanced Ranks.
"One down.", Sun thought.
The bullet exploded on impact, rendering everyone under Master Rank unconscious.
He experimented before with pure magic and got this skill as a result.
"Reading books in the library isn't bad for you!", Sun thought and praised his skill.
"Who's there! Show yourself!", after seeing an Advanced taken down in one shot, the other 24 guards summoned their Soul Origins.
"Tsk. It won't help you to defend against pure magic!", Sun said.
*Peng*
*Peng*
.
.
.
"How?! Is that a Master Rank?", someone shouted.
In a blink of an eye, five Advanced were taken down by some unknown force.
"Haha. Noobs." Sun thought.
*Swoosh*
He got out of the underground and took the flag.
"Hey! He's there! **** our flag!"
the Intermediate Ranks tried to catch up to Sun, but he was simply too fast.
The Soul Power of Lucifer is simply overwhelming.
Sun flew in the air and speed up.
"HOLD ON! I won't let you pass!", behind Sun was Zahl Howson. He was also flying using his Soul Origin.
"Annoying Guy.", Sun thought.
"I don't know who you are, but taking our flag... quite skilled. But your luck ends here, my friend.", Zahl said.
"Who's your friend!?", Sun mocked Zahl in his mind.
"You think I would hand over the flag? Then you must catch me first."
"Fairy Wind Boots"
The air around Sun gathered around his feet in the shape of boots.
"See ya!", Sun said shamelessly and flew off.
"Not so fast."
"What?", Sun was surprised to see Zahl in front of him so suddenly.
"What did he use? Teleportation?- No, he would need timing and preparation."
"Surprised?", Zahl asked.
"Indeed. You're quite skilled yourself.", Sun said.
"Haha. Then I won't hold back. Here I come!", Zahl said.
"Well. A Howson, not wasting a single word on his opponent - coming straight for his objective.", Sun thought and dodged his first attack.
I took some time off, so no time for updates until now.
There will be one more chapters following for this week.
Have a good day.
