Chapter 22: Change of Environment 1
A full 2 weeks had passed since the incident and Seyoo recovered well in her physical appearance. She already woke up on her tenth day in the hospital. It was in the middle of the night and the nurse on duty reported it to Dr. Mihano who rushed to her room to check on her condition. There are still marks and bruises on her body but physically she is doing good. Her body's overall health is regaining its usual vitality before the attack.
Dr. Mihano introduced herself to Seyoo and explained what happened during the time she was unconscious. Dr. Mihano also admitted to her that she knew her from her former school on which Seyoo just nod. A little disappointed that she still doesnt want to use her voice to communicate, she leaves the room after instructing the nurse to check on her every 6 hours.
Chinka ad Fuwei visited her everyday with lots of books and fruits to ease her boredom and to help feed her nutritious food. Chinka with her usual overly dramatic self, cried when she first see Seyoo wide awake. She narrated in details on what happened after her attack and also told her that she already filed for an early semestral break for her. Fuwei on the other hand, kept his silence and just accompanied Chinka because he noticed on the first day of their visit that Seyoo flinched and look away whenever he speaks or talk to her directly. As receptive as he is, he understands that Seyoo is still traumatize and might abhor men in general.
Soon, Everybody notices that Seyoo becomes distant even to Chinka. She didnt communicate at all and just wanted to be left alone. Seyoo just looks onto the wall, absorb on her thoughts. Most of the time, she will wake up in the middle of the night crying and trembling. Whenever Chinka ask her, she will just bow down and shakes her head. Most of the time, she will sit in a fatal position with her head tucked between her knees and rocking herself until she falls asleep.
Seyoo refuse to go out even to eat. She even forego her therapy and just stay in bed most of the time, if not for Chinka's coaxing and pleading she will not even eat or drink.
On the 1 month mark after the incident, Chinka contacted her guardian and reported everything that she notices. She is afraid that Seyoo will end up dying if no intervention will be given to her. Her sleeping habits changes to the worse this past month, her inability to communicate even on a rudimentary level has gone to drain. Even basic self care has been forgotten. Chinka is afraid that she is wasting away.
"Se, please just please talk to me." she pleaded one morning when Seyoo has gone into an almost catatonic state staring in the wall for almost 4 hours. "Se, c'mon, you are better than this. Please. come back to us Se. I promise I will be very good to you. I will not ask for your help in my assignments and projects. Just please be my bestfriend again" She added while crying, her overdramatic side overpower her for a moment. She covers her hand into her eyes before she launched a big bear hug to Seyoo, holding really tight on her soiled clothes and leaning to her sunken collar bone. Chinka cried her eyes out for the next ten minutes, unleashing all the pain she felt for her friend.
While holding on to Seyoo, she was suprised when she felt Seyoo's trembling body followed by a vibration on her throat. Then fat drops of tears started to pour on her fisted hand on Seyoo's clothes. Looking up, she saw Seyoo looking at her with a small bitter sweet smile on her face , her cheeks and chin was wet from her tears.
"Ch- Ch- Chin...k - ka" She said so slowly, words tumbles through her mouth in a slow, difficult and hoarse voice while looking at her in her tear stained face.
