Taehyung's willpower betrayed him as sobs wracked his body. He was completely alone, but he deserved to be.
He could have stopped Jimin. He could have gotten Jimin help. Why had he hung up? It was all his fault. Jungkook was right; Taehyung was the worst friend ever.
Jimin had always been there for Taehyung, always helped to the best of his ability. They were best friends; how could Taehyung not have known that Jimin felt so bad about himself that he would attempt take his own life? He wanted to be mad at Jimin, wanted to hate him for what he did, but how could he when he himself had a hand in Jimin's decision?
Taehyung's body shook as he let out another choked sob. He felt like he couldn't breathe, his body was shaking uncontrollably, and tears pooled on the floor below him. He wanted to be mad at Jimin, wanted to hate him for what he did, but how could he? How could he hate his best friend, his brother, the person he wanted to grow old with, joke around with when they needed walkers?
Taehyung almost didn't notice the restroom door open. He startled as a hand gripped his shoulder, and he looked up to meet Jin's worried eyes. He opened his arms up to the younger, almost getting knocked over when Taehyung wrapped his long arms around him.
"Shh, I got you, Tae. I've got you." Taehyung just let it out, unsure of how long he spent in his hyungs arms before finally pulling away.
"I'm here, Taehyung. You can talk to me, or any of us, you don't need to push us away. We're here for you." A small fire of anger lit in Taehyung when those words reached his ears.
He pushed Jin away and bolted from the restroom. He paid no attention to Jin even as he followed him, calling his name. Once again, Taehyung found himself making his way to the entrance of the hospital.
"Stop! Taehyung, you can't go out there. Someone might see you and call the press-"
"Are you fucking kidding me?! Jimin could be dying right now, and all you care about is the press?" Taehyung was seething now, unable to stop the hurtful words from leaving his mouth as his anger reached a boiling point.
Jin's handsome face contorted; first into hurt, then into something akin to anger.
"Don't think for one moment that I care more about the press than Jimin! I love Park Jimin, and I'm fucking terrified. He could be dead right now, for all I know. He could die tomorrow during surgery. But you know what? I'm trying to be strong for you! For all of you! I'm trying to be strong so-" his voice cracked. "So you don't have to."
"I want to be mad at him," Jin continued when Taehyung said nothing. "I want to hate him, but how can I?" Tears rolled down the elset hyungs face now.
Taehyung slung himself into Jin's arms at top speed. That's all it took for the younger's tears to start again.
"It's my fault. I could have stopped him Jin. It's all my fault." Taehyung continued repeating himself into his Hyungs chest.
Jin kept his arms wrapped around the younger holding him speaking soft but stern don't you dare ever say that. What Jimin did is no more your fault than it is mine, or Jungkook's or even army's. What Jimin did is what he did, we can't change that."
He shook his head "No, no you don't understand! He called me. He called me and I blew him off. I blew him off and it's my fault I could have stopped him. I could have." Taehyung sniffled "He called me thirty minutes before Namjoon got his call Jin. I should have been there for him."
