Chapter 2: MY ARRIVAL
The day was getting cooler and calmer, the sharp sound of a woman crying ....well more like yelling and pleading, filled the air.
"please don't, please." The queen pleaded looking up to her maid beside her.
"My apologies your Highness but we can't do what u ask of us." A voice replied from behind, it was the doctor.
"The King's orders are absolute."
"Bu-" The healing mage present had slightly blew on her face realising a green powdery substance that seemed to be something of an earth elemental magic, causing her to lose consciousness.
"Shall we begin?" She asked as she looked around checking to see they had all they needed for the operation.
At the arrival of the child, there was a sound of a huge thunder that shook the ground and it was said that "smoke without fire" was an ill omen, and a thunder like that without rain was not far off.
"Maybe she was right to not want this child. Do you think we would regret our actions In the near future?" The mage beside the doctor said almost mumbling.
"The King's decisions are wise, his orders absolute." The doctor replied while making his way to the door.
"Sire." He said taking a bow "The queen and
her child are safe."
The king looked at him and nodded,just as he was about to leave he stopped and looked at the doctor.
"I want to know the reason for the early delivery."
"It is more likely that she took something she shouldn't have."
On hearing that the king clenched his fist and turn to look at the head maid that was behind the doctor.
"How did that happen? you were all to watch the queen to make sure something like this never happens." The king said looking more fierce than she was ever prepared to see him.
The maid grovelled pushing her head hard on the ground as if trying to rip it open.
"Forgive me your Majesty."
"what did she take?"
"....."
"what did she take?" The king was looking even fierce and irritated. At this moment everyone knew it best not to interfere.
"w..wi.. willow eye." The maid stammered as she was trembling on the ground.
"wait.. what?" The doctor said raising his voice
a bit, he looked more worried than surprised.
"what is it?" The king inquired of the doctor, but doctor just went back inside the queen's court where both mother and child layed, with quick steps moved to where the child was layed to rest in a cocoon like space with earth and light magic surrounding it and did a quick check up on him before letting out a sigh of relief.
"Please forgive my impudent behavior your
Eminence." He turned look at the king before taking a bow.
"What is a 'willow eye'? "
"It is a bud that is found at the top of a really ancient willow hence earning it's name 'willow eye', it is said to carry all the elemental energy of the willow of its ancient years."
"So what does it do? " The king inquired now looking even more curious.
"well depending on what its used for and who takes it, it is mostly found in the north and used there by military forces to enhance their skills for battle and is said to be an enchanted bud with one of the highest healing ability, but can also be dangerous as it multiplies their skills incredibly and If not prepared properly can end up exceeding their body limit and cause a painful death turning them into live energy"
He went further explaining.
"But if taken by a pregnant woman, it does nothing to the mother but kills the baby from the bones to the heart to a point where there will be no sign of there ever being a fetus."
On hearing that the king clenched his fist and looked at the child that was laying peacefully.
"How is he?"
"well he's alive, that's good news,but I doubt anyone would sell a fake to the queen considering how much they would tag the plant because of its rarity and what it does."
"what is the bad news?" The king inquired as he braced himself for the impact of the words he was about to hear.
"His heart is weak." The doctor replied as he looked down to the ground avoiding the King's gaze, the king just clenched his teeth tightly without saying anything, the doctor then lift up his head to continue.
"well considering the Fact that other babies would have died if they were faced with same, it must be because of 'that', well that doesn't mean we can rest easy cause with the fact he was born prematurely he also have a weak heart."
"of course, I trust that you double your efforts to ensure his recovery and safety."
"But of course Sire, it shall be both a pleasure
and honour." He then took a bow.
"How rare is this 'willow eye'?"
"personally I haven't seen any fact stating how rare, but I can tell you that it truly is rare, some say it's a 'one in a hundred years' and even so to find the willow tree itself is a task on it's own, most people say it's not worth it and to just improve your skills yourself. "
"hmm" The king looked as is if to be in deep
thoughts before replying.
"Can the plant cure his heart"
The doctor looking shocked at first but later
looked to also be in deep thoughts.
"Well the fact that it caused the ailment, am not sure but if it's healing abilities is as evolved as they say it won't be bad to try
.....but even if we wanted to, where could we get one?"
The king just nodded on hearing the first part he turned to see his guard that was with him.
"Go tell my generals that I call for them and should report to my office."
"yes sir." The guard then gave a salute before going his way to deliver the message.
The king then turned to the maid that has been standing quietly all this time.
"You are relived of ur duties leave this castle immediately."
The maid didn't even bother pleading, because she knew at this point it would be useless and if she angered the king more than she had already done, she could meet a fate worse than the one she see before her, so she just bowed and left.
