Chapter 37: The Second to Last
We left Masaki's house after Tobirama began the process because the whole thing was going to take at least six hours and I had much more pressing stuff to do besides watch a Man do an exorcism for a quarter of the day
So we went to search for the location of the Second Mizukage's body
Now, we already knew where it was - The Files and Samehada gave us that information, but they didn't give us any concrete information on what kind of defenses it had
Me and Minato were currently hiding across the way from where the body was supposed to be, and I had already sensed at least 5 Kiri ANBU all around the complex with my Observation Haki
"At least five that we need to take out, try and keep from using lethal force, but do so if you must" I whispered to Minato who nodded and I jumped off towards the nearest ANBU
Conveniently he was the furthest from everyone
I put my hands in a snake seal and a bunch of roots came out of the ground behind the Nin and wrapped him up before he could do anything, before dragging him under the earth
"One Down" I hopped in the direction of the next one, who was in a team with one other ANBU
'A teensy bit harder, eh? So be it' I brought out my Wado and covered it in lightning chakra before I jumped towards the pair, my sword flying to my side - Lightningbolts dancing all around the blade
They barely noticed me coming at them when I smacked them in the neck with the backside of my sword - electrocuting them into unconsciousness
"God, I love Kage Level speed..." I muttered to myself
At that moment I hear a big boom on the other side of the building
"God dammit, what the hell are you doing Minato???" I silently growled, jumping in the direction of the explosion
When I got there I saw Minato with Shibuki in his hands, and a splatter of blood all around him
"What the fuck Minato?? How the hell did you get Shibuki???" I ground out
He just looked at me sheepishly, scratching the back of his head "Ah, Old Man Tobirama gave it to me, said I should take it for protection"
I sighed in irritation "God Damn old men... What the fuck happened here?" I examined the sight around me, there were bits of flesh in some places and I'm pretty sure I could see a broken mask
"Well, uh, the two ANBU you left me with detected me and tried to attack me, and I couldn't think of any non-lethal way to take them out, so I decided well.." He pointed around
"We'll have to work on that, I guess. At least you didn't alert anyone outside of the compound. If you did we'd be swarmed with their entire ANBU forces and the 3rd Mizukage by now" I berated him
Minato sighed in relief and we went inside to where the body was kept
There weren't any ANBU forces inside the burial place, which I guess makes sense - they didn't want to give up a fifth of their total ANBU just to guard a dead body, but it leaves them perfectly vulnerable for an attack like this, and their precious second Mizukage stolen
We got to the place his coffin was held, and it really wasn't much
I guess the people here in the Naruto world are really Modest after death.. Well, at least the Shinobi are, the Civilians are much worse
Gengetsu was resting in a coffin not unlike Tobirama's when we found him - It was a light blue wood, only lightly decorated by a intricate swirl pattern that looked like the waves of the ocean
We leveraged the coffin open, and inside was the perfectly preserved corpse of the second Mizukage, looking just how the anime described him - Wearing the same striped grey high collared kimono, his long blond hair in his signature combed back style matching the triangular goatee on his chin
He was surprisingly tall - almost 190 cm. I really wasn't expecting it to be honest
I closed the coffin and sealed it up in a scroll, putting it in my inventory
"Alright, we need to get out of here fast - I can feel at least 10 more Jonin level chakra signatures heading this way" I told Minato and left out the way we came
We just barely made it out undetected, I could see the backup getting there just as we jumped over the first building. I'm pretty sure I could see the 3rd Mizukage with them, so it was good that we left at that time
It only took a few hours to do that whole operation, so we still had time to wander around before Tobirama was finished
Me and Minato went out and looked at all of the best food places to eat at - The ones that I took from the Hoshigaki's mind
Fish, Dumplings, Ramen... Whatever sounded like a good place to eat we went. I'm quite sure I put on at least 20 pounds, but at least it passed the time
A couple of hours of eating later - we were back at Masaki's house, Tobirama having just finished up
Masaki was breathing pretty weakly. I would probably be doing that as well if I had such a big supplier of Chakra leave my body all of a sudden
"The three tails has been successfully extracted" Tobirama handed me the three eyed Gedo Statue, and sure enough, all three eyes were open - Glowing brightly
"Great, let's head out to the six tails then" They nodded and we were going to leave before-
"Wait!" Masaki stopped us
I looked back and looked at her "Yes? Is there something else we can do for you?" I asked the woman politely
She shook her head "No, you've helped enough. I just want to say thank you..."
I smiled "You are very much welcome Masaki-San" and walked out
If I had looked back I would have seen the tears of joy running down her face
~~~ 1 Hour Later ; Residence of the Six Tails Jinchuriki ~~~
We were currently right outside the residence of the Six Tails Jinchuriki. Saiken was sealed inside of a man named Takei Eijiro - A 21 year old genin of the Kiri shinobi forces.
Eijiro just barely graduated the Academy at the cut off age of 15 - becoming traumatized by the brutal displays of the other graduating genin, he only took D-Rank missions before he retired as a Shinobi for good
It seems Saiken added on to that stress - when he turned 17, the third Mizukage told him of his responsibility, and he completely freaked the fuck out, going four tailed and almost breaking out of the village. I'm pretty sure the only thing that stopped this guy was Samehada, devouring up all of the demonic chakra
"Eijiro-San? Are you in there?" I shouted, knocking on the door
There was no answer
I knocked again "We might have a solution to your 'resident' problem!"
Still no answer
I turned to Tobirama and he nodded, so I formed a Rasengan, slammed it into the door, and watched it fly off the hinges and slam into the wall
"Eijiro?!" I yelled out
The apartment Eijiro was living in was quite the same as Masaki's - No sources of light anywhere, dishes and trash piled up everywhere, stains littering the floor along with a gross stench
Eijiro still didn't answer
I looked to Tobirama and Minato again "Look around, search for him. He may be unconscious or in Hiding" I told them, and they both headed off their own ways into the dingy apartment
I went back outside the apartment to keep guard
"*Clap clap*" I suddenly heard from above me. I looked up and saw the figure of the third Mizukage squatting down over the roof of the building
"You have been a pain in my ass for too long boy" he said to me blandly "You are going to have to die" the man said and disappeared from my sight
I jumped off the railing of the second floor, just as a giant water dragon swept my previous location, power blasting the paint off the walls
'Shit!' I shouted in my head 'I figured he'd find me, but I didn't think he'd attack until we were leaving!'
I shot through a group of hand seals, a forest forming around me at an alarming pace
"The wood release?" The third questioned "Interesting"
The trees shot up to full growth within seconds, at about 25 feet
I hopped up to a nearby tree and squatted down, focusing on sensing where the Kage was hidden at
'Damn, this guy is good...' I thought frustrated
I could barely sense him coming for me, his chakra suppression was that good
I hopped down from the tree - a staff hitting my earlier position
Another set of handseals and I had the Kage trapped in a binding of wood
"Well then..." he began only for me to thrust a kunai into him, his figure turning to water
I looked around again, my rinnegan eyes working furiously to find his spot
He almost hit me again with a water dragon, only to get blasted back with a full powered almighty push, and pulled back again with an almighty pull
I unsealed Shibuki "Thank you for giving me this minato..." I muttered
I swung and his figure was literally blasted back by the exploding sword
He hit the ground with a large thud - a dust cloud forming around him
I walked up to his body
Both of his arms were obviously broken from blocking the blasting sword, along with his legs. Blood was running from his mouth and his eyes were dull
"I guess I underestimated you" the mangled man said weakly
I just looked down upon him
"Kill me if you aren't going to speak..."
I gave a large sigh and pulled out a kunai - ending the raven haired mans life
Tobirama suddenly landed behind me, his eyes settling upon the dead body in front of me
"He finally decided to attack..."
I nodded and he just rubbed his eyes
"Well need to hurry then, I found Eijiro and we convinced him to get move the Six Tails from him, I need the statue"
I sighed again, taking the six eyed Gedo Statue from my inventory and handing it to him
He nodded in thanks "I'll have the Tailed Beasts moved as soon as possible"
I just stood there while Tobirama jumped off
'You could have stayed alive if you just left us alone...' I mused before pulling out a scroll - sealing the thirds body away
I looked towards the apartment "I guess I can go and help him..."
