I like smart antagonists. Ones who win sometimes. When it's not a death match, it can create a cool dynamic, sometimes leading toward Foe to Friend situations.
I'm drawing a blank on my favorite antagonists.
Rivals in same field are depicted pretty well in The Greatest Storyteller. They can drink together and still be bitter.
