Chapter 1: The Beginning
160 years ago in Pearl of the East, while everyone is on feast, drinking and dating women, not far beyond the mountain, there found an open mining were people being forced to work day and night with not enough time to sleep. One of them is Flavio. Lost his childhood at a young age and started smithing at the age of 13. Later that year, Government took him from his parents and forced to work for building cities.
Back to the present, Flavio is working with his fellow men at an open mining owned by government. The boss of the mining operation is Don Zardo, a ruthless and merciless tyrant.
10 years ago at this open mining site, there once a meteorite fell to the ground, but when soldiers came to investigate, they found nothing but a deep hole field with shiny crystals. From then forward, the place became the base of mining operation.
Every day that Flavio lives, he felt miserable upon seeing his brothers suffering, tortured to live day and night. One night at the same day, he doesn't stop digging till he incidentally hit a hard object that made his digging tool to be thrown. When he look at it, he found a purple rock. Suddenly, all of the crystals in the mine and taken from it sparkles. Don Zardo, at his house startled when a piece from his hands suddenly sparks. All people nearby towns and villages shook from what they have seen.
On the next day, Government ordered to evaluate the mine to find out what is the cause of the sparkling of crystals from the mine. Don Zardo calls all the miners and interrogate them about the event happened on the mine, but neither of them know what happened. Flavio who is the only one took overtime work was asked by Don Zardo. But Flavio lied about what he did last night. He said that he was there but also shocked when he saw the crystals sparks when he is about to sleep. Because no one confessed, Zardo wondered why the crystals sparked. Still frightened, Zardo went to the Saloon to relax. The Saloon is the home of drunkards that finds pleasure to relax. All of the costumers are Nobles and Government Officials. The place is filled with courtesans. Every men has a courtesan to serve them drinks and pleasure. Don Zardo approached 1 of the costumers and greet him. The customer also greet back Don Zardo. The customer is Don Zardo's friend, a general.
"Good to see you, Heneral Legario", said Don Zardo.
"You too, Don Zardo.", he responded
"What's the news about your mine?"
General Legario: There's still no news about the sudden sparkling of all the Gems we brought from the mine. Did your workers know nothing about that?
Don Zardo walks slowly towards the sofa while grabbing a wine from the table and pour it into a cup before he sat down.
Don Zardo: None of them know how it happened. We pushed them to work day and night to acquire all this gems. The stone that came from a Meteorite. I sense something that is hidden at that place. Just continue collecting the shards. Until we gather all of them.
Meanwhile, at the mine...
Chief laborers are beating mine workers everytime they stop digging. There's also boys at a young age forced to work at the mine.
While seeing all the happenings, Flavio was getting furious. However, knowing how powerless he is, cannot even fight.
At the middle of the night, while everyone is asleep, Flavio took his dagger from where it is hidden. He swings the dagger quickly. Merely amazed, the dagger became Sword.
Not showing any reaction for what he seen, it seems like Flavio knew that it has power.
He went out the forgery and attack chief laborers on their sleep. He wakes all the miners and took all the miners and slaves with him.
As they gone out, they saw soldiers approaching towards the mine. Quickly, they run towards the bush.
Miner: Flavio, how did we go out? Why there are no guards?"
Flavio: I killed them.
Suddenly the sound of alarm rang inside the mine.
Flavio: We must go now.
Flavio and the miners make their way through the mountains. On their way, they encounter an Ermitanyo stumble across them.
Ermitanyo: Stop there!! Young Man. This path won't lead you out this forest. You should follow me.
The Old man stopped Flavio and told him to follow him.
While they continue walking, they haven't noticed, that there really has no forest here. The mountain is bald because of the mining operation. But they have found themselves at the middle of the forest and met an old hermit there.
On their way following the old man, they found a small hut.
Ermitanyo: We arrived at last. So, there is my house. You all should rest a bit. I know you're all tired walking. I also prepared some foods, I bet you're all hungry.
Flavio speaks to Ermitanyo for a moment.
Flavio: Apo, We're all are being hunted by soldiers. If we don't hurry, they will keep up on us.
The old man calm Flavio a bit telling him not to worry.
Ermitanyo: They will be safe here, my hut is difficult to find. You're brothers need some rest. I assure you, everything is safe.
All of them entered the house, and there's really a plenty of foods. Miners and Slaves suited theirselves and eat what they want.
After eating, all of them fell asleep, except Flavio that guards them.
Few hours later, The Ermitanyo approaches Flavio and tell him to sleep, however, Flavio doesn't want to. The Old man then leaves, a while later, Flavio cannot force to open his eyes and fell asleep afterwards.
Several hours later, Flavio wakes up and found themselves lying at the mountain creek beside the seashore. Everything on the surroundings also changed. The house where they were also vanished.
Meanwhile... At the mountain.
Soldier: We still haven't found them, Don Zardo.
Inside the big Mansion, Don Zardo heard the unfortunate news from the soldiers.
Don Zardo: Argh!! Punyeta! Don't let them access to any ships. I'm sure they gonna make their way there to escape.
Near at the coast, Flavio and others hide beneath the trees to find away to sneak in.
Soldier : Buddy, can you guard here for a minute, I have to pee.
One of the soldiers, left to pee. While other soldier left alone was attacked on his back leaving him unconscious. While other peeing soldier are heading towards the location of Flavio.
Flavio climbs at the tree and took his dagger out. He jumped down the tree and stabbed the soldier at the back.
On the other side, where company of Flavio is, the little boy cried. Soldiers heard the cry of the kid and went there and about to shoot.
Flavio rushes to the place and turn his sword into a big Shield. The bullets from the gun were caught by the shield and return it to the soldiers.
"Wow!" The child was amazed for what they have seen, as well as Flavio.
Flavio: What else could you show me?!
Getting amazed what he saw himself.
One of the miners rushed towards Flavio and asked about the sword.
Miner: Is that your dagger? How come it became Shield that took down the soldiers?
Flavio: We should go, I will tell you later.
Flavio and company went on the huge ship and sail it.
Meanwhile, at the Command Headquarters of Gobernador-Heneral...
Gobernador-Heneral: What did you say?! The soldiers dispatched on the coast were wiped out? All of them are miners, took down soldiers with guns?
At the coast...
Soldier: I saw one of them wields a magical sword that transforms into some kind of weapon. We have no match for him.
On the Headquarters...
Gobernador-Heneral: The Meteorite, he possessed it. So it's true, the sudden sparkling of the Gem.
The Gobernador-Heneral sat on his chair while wondering.
