Chapter 13: New Survivor Found
"YAY."
Bethany cheered as she followed Matthew as she asked:
"Where are we going?"
Matthew answered as he walked through the broken door of the staff room:
"We'll be heading toward the dining hall, we will picking up some food and then we'll try to get a bus from the campus and then I plan to travel to Dallas."
Bethany then asked Matthew:
"Dallas? Why would you go to Dallas? It's a journey of 346 miles up there, that would be tiring even before all this happens, now it must be even more tiring and above all dangerous. "
Matthew kept walking until he got out of the dormitory, drew his sword and said:

It was then that Matthew saw a fallen eye on the floor surrounded by guts and anything you could imagine would be in a horror movie, his stomach began to wrap when he saw that scene, it was then that Bethany came out of the dormitory too and looked at the direction Matthew was looking and went pale when she started feeling sick and started vomiting.
Matthew then gave her some time to calm down and told her trying to cheer her up:
"It looks like we're in a horror movie is not it? I'm sure someone must be talking about not going in that direction right now. "
Bethany then tried to smile when Matthew was trying to comfort her, but she knew he had realized that her smile was extremely forced, so Matthew said:
"Come on, the longer we stand here we'll be at risk of hordes of zombies that I will not be able to handle with my current strength."
Bethany then nodded as she quickened her pace and held the back of Matthew's shirt.
Matthew sighed to know that he could try to comfort her better, but it was not the moment and he did not even have to do it, I mean she had joined him, but who knows if she would still follow him in the future.
Matthew then rearranged his posture as he tightened his grip on the sword and walked toward the dining hall while he listened to the surroundings and spoke to Bethany:
"I need you to be strong and help me, I'm watching the surroundings, but I don't have the training or experience to pay attention to every detail, so I need you to be brave and keep an eye on anything that might seem suspicious or strange in our situation, okay? "
Bethany then nodded, though she was very afraid, she knew she needed to be helpful to Matthew somehow or he could leave her alone at any moment or danger.
They kept walking towards the dining hall and for what it seemed was their lucky day, as lucky as possible in this situation, as they only found a few sporadic zombies along the way, around five zombies that gave 50 more exp to Matthew and 6 credits evolutionaries, Matthew had no difficulty in killing any of them, although Bethany became scared every time he saw a new zombie running toward them, gradually she began to get used to it, although she wasn't totally accustomed to it yet, at least she wouldn't tremble afraid to see a zombie running toward them now, she began to have a growing confidence that she made the right decision and that she could survive this ill-fitting joke that the deities threw over her if she continued to follow Matthew, that for the irony of fate, not knowing that Bethany's confidence in him grew more and more, Matthew still wondered if he could survive everything that was happening in this new world.
And then they finally reached the refectory and saw a scene they thought they could only see in movies and series, a group of about eight zombies were running around trying to reach a young man who seemed to be around 17, the group of zombies seemed to being distanced due their speed was less than an ordinary human, but there was a difference between zombies and humans, the zombies didn't tire because they were undead, so it seemed they should be running at a time, since the boy seemed to be tired as he ran with a katana-like sword in his hand, was when the young man swayed and fell to the ground next to Matthew and Bethany, Matthew could see that the young man had a look of desperation on his face while without realizing Matthew and Bethany him turned his face towards the zombies that soon would reach him, Matthew then can observe that the young man was pissing in his pants and frowned while watching this scene, Bethany at the same time began to blush.
The young man still didn't know this, but this was his lucky day, Matthew wouldn't lose free exp and wouldn't let anyone die in front of him if he could save him, of course he could change that conception further, but for now he was still human and wouldn't let that happen.
Matthew then activated [Light Ki] who passed by the young man and killed the eight zombies, the boy still didn't understand what had just happened, since he only saw a beam of light passing through his head extremely fast and in the next second reaching the zombies that was when fallen to the ground while they died, him turned his head and saw a young man who looked 22 years old, with a body that seemed to be constantly trained and had a blond hair short military style and a pair of light blue eyes followed by an extremely beautiful girl, he can't help blushing when he saw her.
Meanwhile, Matthew felt an enormous burden weighing on his body after activating the skill.
