Chapter 38: Battle with Fury Zombie (3)

Realizing something went wrong and that Little Black was suffering and could even die, Matthew started screaming desperately through his connection with Little Black.

"LITTLE BLACK, RELEASE IT NOW!"

Fortunately, Little Black listened to Matthew's command and loosened her grip on the fury zombie. But, it didn't end too well for Little Black. As her grip to the zombie loosened, the fury zombe grabbed Little Black and threw her to the ground with its monstrous force. An agonizing howl was heard from Little Black as her body was slammed to the ground.

Matthew felt his heart clench as he saw the scene of Little Black being destroyed. From his connection with Little Black, he could feel her fear clearly. Screaming to the fury zombie, He failed to notice as his tears fell from his eyes. "NO! NO! NOT MY LITTLE BLACK! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!"

He ran frantically toward the fury zombie, seemingly not to care about the screams he heard around him. His only focus was Little Black in the hand of the fury zombie. The tightness in his heart grew suffocating and his anger hit the apex when he saw the fury zombie was beating on his extremely muscular chest, as if he was bragging about killing Little Black.

As Matthew came within the fury zombie's range, it noticed him and threw a punch towards Matthew. With the size of his right arm was a little larger than the size of Matthew's body, if the punch hit him, there was no doubt Matthew would suffer from heavy injury -- if he were not dead yet. But, Matthew jumped onto his thick right arm that hit the ground and started running on the arm of the fury zombie toward its head.

As if feeling bothered by the fly that was climbing up its right arm, it raised its left hand and tried to crush Matthew into flesh paste. Matthew could easily see its intention to crush him, so he rolled back and cut with the sword in the left hand of the fury zombie, leaving only a small white scar.

Then, Matthew kicked the fury zombie's right arm, which seemed to be pinned to the ground, and picked up the momentum as he quickly reached the neck of the fury zombie. There was a look of sadness and anger on his face as he said full of hatred in his heart: "Good-bye, bastard. Not a thousand lives of yours would be enough to pay Little Black's death."

Matthew activated the [LIGHT KI] skill toward the neck of the fury zombie and slammed his foot into the fury zombie's chest, trying to pull away from its body for fear of being struck by the effect of his own ability.

Bethany and the others rushed to the side of Matthew, who had moved away from the fury zombie. Concern laced her voice as she asked him. "Matthew, how are you? What happened to Little Black?"

Matthew shook his head in response as he took time to recover from exhaustion by using [LIGHT KI]. He then pointed to his ear that there were bloodstains and said he could not hear what she said. The worry in her eyes deepened as she used the [MINOR CURE] skill on him. A flash of green light covered Matthew's body and after a few seconds, the light disappeared and an untouched Matthew appeared.

Seeing him safe and unscathed, Bethany repeated the question she had asked Matthew and waited for his answer. Hearing her question, the tightness in his heart returned full force as he began to cry again. Gasping for breath, he took time to catch his breath. Only after he calmed down that he replied. "I'm fine, but that damn ..."

Matthew paused to regain control of his emotions and continued to respond. "But that bastard, he ... he killed Little Black."

Bethany felt a pang o guilt and regret for asking that question and then tried to calm him down. Gently, she stroked Matthew's head. "Don't be like this, Matthew, you don't know if she really died. I mean, she's a system skill, isn't she?" She tried to console him and chose her words carefully.

Realizing that what Bethany said might be true, Matthew nodded as a little hope came into his heart. So, he asked the system. "System, is Little Black dead or is it still alive?"

* Ding *

"Responding to the user, his ability [Invoke Python] has not been erased, so 'Little Black' is still alive."

The response given by the system made him happy, so he tried to summon Little Black again. But, this time Little Black didn't appear. A feeling of sadness started to fill his heart again as he thought that the system had deceived him. Then again, there was no reason for the system to decieve him, so he asked. "System, you said Little Black is not dead, so why can't I summon her?"

* Ding *

"Responding to the user, his python was bruised to death, which caused it to be forcibly collected by me, and I sent it into the space of the monsters. It will take her a week to recover from her injuries and only then can she be called again. "

Nodding his head, he could feel the relief and happiness started to warm his heart as he heard that Little Black had not died . He was about to tell Bethany what the system had said, but he heard an extremely loud roar. As he turned his head towards the source of the roar, he saw the fury zombie was standing up agian, a ghastly huge wound on his chest and neck, but it was still alive.
