Chapter 1: Thread 1: New Fate

My name is Dasa (pronounced Dah-say) Dark or just "Dark" for short. My nickname comes from combining the first two letters of my first name (Da-) and the last two from my last name (-rk). Yes, I know. It's a stupid nickname. I got it back in grade school and it stuck so bite me.

Anyways, I'm 16 years old. I'm about to start the first day of my first year of high school at Sutakurosu Academy. It's a co-ed boarding school island off the coast of Japan that boasts a 99.36 percent graduation rate with multiple facilities created to suit the needs of any student attending from clothing stores to hardware stores. The island is also has a couple popular tourist spots for with great views of the ocean.

It's a miracle that I was able to pass the entrance exam on my first try. I don't have any outstanding skills in any particular field and not much going for me. But I do kinda stand out a bit because of my height. I'm around 182cm tall, which is a little embarrassing when standing in a crowd.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, I'm an American. My dark skin is also somewhat of a dead giveaway about my nationality (and a stupidly weird connection to my nickname) with silver dreaded hair (hairstyle was mom's idea) and deep ember eyes. My dad is Japanese and works a therapist at a pretty well off clinic. My mom is American and a stay-at-home parent.

I was born in America and moved to Japan when I was about the age to start school. It didn't take long for me and mom to adjust to our new life so we were happy. Growing up, I was interested in girls at a young age. I don't know when I noticed the gender differences but being around girls made me nervous. In turn made it difficult to talk to them. I wasn't that shy of a kid but trying to figure out how to talk to a girl was hard. So I tried to learn how to talk to girls by...looking at manga. And out of the manga I've read, three "personalities" stuck out to me. I called them: The Hero, The Knight, and The Rebel. And I dreamed of one of these "personalities" impressing the girl of my dreams and we live happily ever after.

But not every dream comes true. Some...are viciously shattered. "I wish that I didn't notice things so well". That is the only thing that crossed my mind when I confirmed that I was going to get my heart broken for the first time. And because of that I can open my heart. But that's not important right now. Right now, I need to get to the entrance ceremony. Can't be late on my first day now.

As I continue on my way to school, I had no idea that my life was about to be tied to several others that would change my world.
