Chapter 42: Chapter 42 – A package
"Quick! Open it up!" Elaine's voice was filled with anticipation.
"Ooh. I wonder what big sis has sent us." Luna didn't seem to be any different.
"Alright. Alright. Give me a second." In front of Adam lay a cloth sack. This was the biggest package Fen or anyone had ever sent him. The excitement of opening presents assaulted his senses.
He opened up the sack and pulled out its contents one by one.
There were 4 different silk wrapped packages that were pulled out.
Each one had a card attached to the package with a string with the recipient's names etched onto it.
Fen had addressed one package each for Adam, Elaine, Luna and Yuki.
Putting aside Yuki's package, the three began unpacking their respective packages without a word.
Elaine went all out and was tugging and pulling on the silk wrapping haphazardly. Hoping to get to the insides as fast as possible.
"It's soft and isn't making any sounds. I wonder what it is." Luna, on the other hand, was making guesses as to what was inside while slowly undoing the wrapping. She was doing her best to keep the wrapping in pristine condition.
"It is big sis Fen, so it should be new clothes." Adam made his guess.
Elaine with her wild unwrapping skill was the first to open up her package and put an end to the guessing.
"Oh! It really is new clothes. So soft. So pretty. Ah! Its actually training gear?" A note had fallen out along with the clothes. Fens smooth handwriting explained the present.
'To, little sister Elaine.
This is a new type of armour that I have been working on.
Try it out.
Make sure to treasure it, unlike the wrapping that I am sure you must have torn up.'
Elaine read it aloud for the other two and when she reached the end her cheeks blushed red. Fen had guessed accurately the fate of the poor wrapping.
By now the other two had also already completely unwrapped their packages.
Similar notes describing the gear were in each of their packages as well.
The two girls new gear were modelled to resemble their previous training gear. Elaine's was a black coloured short-sleeved shirt with short shorts while Luna's was a similarly black coloured short sleeved shirt with a short frilly skirt.
The only difference from their old gear was that the girls now had white highlights on the collars, hems of their shirt and shorts/skirt. The shorts had a white belt to go along with it while the skirt had white Lace layered into the frills of the skirt.
Contrary to the minimal changes to the girl's attire, Adam's newly arrived gear consisted of three pieces.
The first piece was a plain black t-shirt. The second piece was a pine green lightweight hoodie and finally a pair of light grey joggers.
'Holy s**t! Fen is a genius!' Adam had never even thought of incorporating these casual clothes into armour. 'What kind of evil genius is this big sis of mine? This is crazy awesome.'
Adam was blinded by the concept of his previous world that comfort wear could never be good for defence. This world was one of magic, Fen's present engraved this into his mind. What was possible and what was not were completely up for debate.

It was like a chain had been severed in his mind and an idea that he would have never been able to think of before crossed his mind.
"I've figured it out! It seems we will have to gamble a bit. Why must we go out to find a suitable training ground? Let's bring the training ground to us." He started mumbling to himself.
"Huh? What are you talking about? Have you finally gone crazy?" Elaine asked.
"No. I mean, I have an idea on how we can continue levelling up. Hey! What do you mean by 'finally gone crazy'? Adam replied.
The girl stuck out her tongue and then hid behind Luna.
"It means what it means. Got a problem?" She said from her safe zone.
"You really don't sound convincing when you are hiding behind someone. Are all tanks like you? Hiding behind the mage." Adam waved his hand and said in a disinterested tone.
"Blegh. We aren't in the dungeon anymore! No fair." She made faces at him from behind Luna.
"Sister…" Luna could only put her face in her palm and shake it. "Young maser what plan have you come up with?"
"Ugh. I don't have time to waste on kids. Let's go, Luna. We should try out the new gear first. It will be better if I explained the plan in the dungeon. We will make another trip there tomorrow." Adam said. He picked up the last and biggest package that was addressed to his mother and turned around.
Walking toward his room. Unbeknownst to him, his fingers and palm that were in contact with the package were transmitting a black smog like a flame.
It looked like whatever was in the package was attracting this flame from his body. This was the flame of Hades that he had used to cover up the creation of Adam's body. The underworld flame of the dead had been left behind in his body and now it was being transmitted to this package.
"Yes." Luna didn't say much and followed.
"Wait! Who are you calling a kid? I won't come to help you test out the new gear." Elaine cried out indignantly.
Seeing the two walk away pretending not to have heard her, Elaine cried out: "Wait. Wait! I'm coming too. I didn't mean it!"
"Hehe, its always like this. Why do you never learn Elaine." Luna laughed with her hand covering her mouth.
"Just watch. Someday I'll get him. Hmph!" Elaine who had caught up to them said.
"Best of luck." Adam's voice came from the front. Elaine looked up and saw a look of ridicule and a sly grin on Adam's face.
Her face went red like a tomato. 'He did it on purpose!' She realised that he walked away on purpose cause he knew she would not be able to resist the temptation of testing the new gear.
"Umumumu. Why are you so mean to me?" She mumbled.
Chop!
A light chop landed on her head. "Fool. Stop starting it and you'll stop getting the short end of the stick. it's that simple." Adam said.
Elaine stood there with her two hands raised and rubbing the top of her head. Her eyes looking at him like she had suffered injustice.
"Ugh. Maybe I indulge you too much." His hand that was still in the posture of a chop above her head turned and landed on her head lightly and gently caressed it.
"I will not be this nice the next time. This is the last time." He said in a defeated voice.
"Young master always says this but always treats her kindly at the end. This sister of mine will end up spoiled." Luna shook her head and sighed.
"So you are saying that I should stop patting her?" Adam asked.
"Yes. She has become too used to it. You are too soft with her." Luna said sternly.
"Okay. Okay." Adam retracted his hand.
"Luna! What have I ever done to you?!" Elaine looked at Luna as if she was the great Yama sentencing her to eternal damnation in hell.
"It has nothing to do with me. It has everything to do with how you behave. Ill only allow the young master to be nice to you if you promise to behave from now one." Luna was like a strict teacher. A stick in one hand and a candy dangling in the other.
"Hmph. Fine!" Elaine stamped her foot.
"I sense no sincerity in those words." Luna raised her chin and said.
The two sisters continued to bicker.

The next day, inside the dungeon, first floor.
The final corridor that leads to the final room of this floor.
Elaine stood in the front with her shield in hand. Luna was right behind her with her staff tapping on the floor as she walked and Adam right behind her walking casually in his new gear. He had pushed up his sleeves to his elbows.
The three had stopped for a short break before clearing the floor. This was something they had done quite often recently and no tension could be sensed from the three.
"These new outfits are so good. I wonder how sister fen made them!" Elaine praised.
The gear was truly magnificent for how thin its material was. In yesterday's test, they realised that any force applied on the material would be like a finger poked into layers upon layers of sponge. It was really mysterious and deceiving to the eyes.
After today's run through the first floor, they encountered 2 black goblins that happened to slash at Elaine. Not even a scratch was left on the durable gear.
Fen's gear was a hundred times better than what was sold by the local crafters, without a doubt.
"Yes, this lets you and young master focus on the attack a lot more than protecting me." Luna agreed with Elaine.
"Young master, what is your plan? You still haven't told us…" Elaine asked.
"Ah, yeah. I guess it should be fine if I told you now." Adam started recalling his plan that he devised the night before.
"I didn't want to say it in the lodge yesterday because it would be better to not let anyone know of it." He said.
"Oh, what is it that has to be so secretive," Luna said. The two girls became eager to hear more.
"There are two phases to my plan. How the first phase pans out will drastically affect the second phase."
"First what I want to do is enter the core room." Adam enunciated every word, slowly and seriously.
"The core room! No way. We were told to never step into it. Even mistress told us 'Core room's all differ from each other but they all have one thing in common: Danger. Never go into one.'. We really shouldn't young master." Luna tried to persuade him against the idea.
"I know. What other choice do we have? My hope is that a monster of a higher level resides in this final room that houses the core of a dungeon.
"My second phase would be heavily hampered if we didn't go through with the first." He said.
"What is the second phase of the plan?" Luna knew that he had already set his mind so she didn't try to persuade him anymore and asked.
"This is gonna be a bit crazier so just hear me out first…."
"Go on…" Both girls raised an eyebrow and gave him an inquisitive look. This was new to them. They had never seen him hesitate like this before.
"I want to create an experience farm!"
