Chapter 26: Good Start

The second day in Beacon, or the second day of lessons as it were, should have been another day of discovery and wonder, of marvel, and the second step of the students in becoming proper hunters and heroes of Remnant.

And now, early in the morning, somewhere in Beacon's dormatory, a certain area was quite noisy...

"You can't wear that!" Weiss yelled, "It's not a part of the uniform! So take it off!"

"No! I can't!" Ruby yelled back in defiance.

"I said take it off! You're the leader of this team and you need to set an image, be an example! You can't just run around defying the rules. If you really want to study here, you need to stop being such a child!"

Pyrrha then joined in, "You know, Ruby may be young, but I'm kinda confident in her maturity," she said, which made Weiss harrumph.

'So much for their reconciliation and coffee moment last night...'

All the commotion was coming from Jin's own dorm room. Blake, Yang, Ren and Nora were still getting ready, so they weren't with them for the moment.

The ones in the room were the remaining members of team RWBY and JNPR that already wore their uniforms, ready for the second day in Beacon.

Also, they were so noisy. Many of the other students in the neighboring rooms had to go out and check what was going on. On Jin's room of all things, much to the Elite Student's shame and embarassment.

Pyrrha glanced at Jaune, who just shrugged and shook his head. Jin was also in the room, crossing his arms as he looking at the scene with an 'I'm tired of handling this sh*t' look.

"Shouldn't we do something?" Jaune spoke up.

*Sigh* "Alright..."

"Weiss." Jin called, "We'll be heading off immediately as soon as the others are ready, ok. We wouldn't want to make it to breakfast."

Those words had Jaune's stomach growling, but it wasn't clearly heard as two certain girls were loudly bickering for control over a particular item.

They were all suppose to go and eat breakfast together, as well as attend to class together. But there was a little problem that was happening in the Elite Student's room.

You see, Weiss noticed Ruby's little red cloak, which was added as a similar feature in her uniform. Ruby also wore this in the first day, and Weiss, for some reason, ignored it.....Or, she just didn't notice it...maybe.

Anyway, Weiss had took upon herself last night to shape her still immature leader up, and slowly forge her to be a good leader.

So now, her 'Shaping-Up-This-Child-Of-A-Leader-Program' had to start off with the younger girl's uniform. The additional red hood on Ruby's uniform was a dirty sight for the heiress. She wasn't following the dress code, so Weiss had to do something about it with her own hands.

'I need to make sure that this huntress-child hasn't done anything foolish to her own uniform.' Was her general thought.

So back to the commotion...

Weiss ignored Jin's words, as she and Ruby, continued to struggle on who gets the hood. Either Weiss pulls it off her, or Ruby sucessfully safeguards her trademark red hood from the crabby girl's clutches.

"That thing isn't a part of the uniform, and as the team leader, you shouldn't have the appearance of anything other than your best!" Weiss roared in a scolding tone.

"Never! I won't, I won't, I won't, I won't, I won't, I won't, I won't, I won't!" Ruby whined out loud like a stubborn six-year old.

The male Rose just sighed at the scene, 'Well, I did tell her that she can guide Ruby on how to be a better leader, but not like this.....Hehe, this is just ridiculous.'

His thought was followed up with chuckle at their antics. Both of them were actually acting like children arguing with other on who gets to play with the toy first.

The door soon banged open, and Weiss dragged Ruby outside by her red hood. It was a hood that she'd added onto her uniform, and the younger girl clung to it grimly.

"Jin!" Weiss called out, "This chil...your sister wants to wear this on top of her uniform. I'm trying to tell her she can't, but she won't listen!"

"I have to wear it!" Ruby gasped, "I-It's…it's special to me; I can't not wear it!"

"You have an image to maintain, our image – the team's image!"

Weiss then rolled her eyes and turned to the rest of the people in the room. She only had eyes for Jin however, and it was clear the other's input was neither requested nor desired.

"Tell your sister, Jin. She can't just flout the rules like this."

Ruby's eyes went wide before she looked at her sweet brother with pleading eyes, "Jin…"

Jin just helplessly sighed, "I don't see why it's such a big deal," he said.

He then looked at Ruby, whose eyes began to turn watery, 'You faker...you really know how to get what you want do you.'

He then glared at Ruby with an 'I'm on to your sh*t' look, which made the female Rose feel slightly nervous, as she was found out in her act.

But he still sided with her nonetheless, "You know, if Ruby wants to wear it, just let her. If the teachers say anything, then she'll have to take it off. But otherwise, I don't see any harm."

Ruby and Weiss' expressions reversed with an incredible speed, and the silver-eyed girl used the moment's distraction to tug her hood free and rush over to give her taller brother a hug.

"That, that is-.." Weiss scowled. "Well, what do you think, Jaune? Pyrrha?"

"Well, she can keep it. I mean, like Jin said, it doesn't really hurt anyone." Jaune said, with Pyrrha nodding in agreement.

"Weiss, that 'thing' is Ruby's tribute to our mother. Its very important to her, so just let her go on this." Jin spoke out.

Indeed, Ruby treasures it greatly, and always prefers to add it into any kind of clothing she wears, or at least in some cases. She obviously knew on when not to wear it, but this time, with her uniform, she was kinda feeling on wearing it.

"Besides, she looks cute in it." He continued.

There was a muffled gasp from the girl herself -and up went the hood-, covering Ruby's flustered and blushing face.

Weiss looked at him, more than a little flabbergasted, "W-Well. I, uh…fine. I suppose I shall let this one go, but! The moment a teacher tells you to take it off, you have to, understood?"

Ruby mumbled something that might have contained the word yes, but probably didn't. It seemed to be enough for Weiss, who shook her head and sighed.

Ruby didn't forget stick her tongue out at Weiss as she shuffled in her brothers arms. To which, the white haired girl just rolled her eyes in response.

Until suddenly, the group then heard something falling on the other side of the room. Weiss then turned to the wall with a surprised look, and so was for Ruby.

"What was that?"

"I think it came from our room..."

While the four was still thinking on what to do, Jin already walked up to team RWBY's room in order to see what was going on.

And lo, and behold. It was...

"Nora!"

Ren wittingly yelled in a scolding tone. He was also standing besides Jin, as if he just arrived after changing to his uniform.

Looking at the fallen and messed up bookshelf, as well as books scattered in team RWBY's room, Nora looked like she was a child that was caught on doing a prank. She then sheepishly smiled at the two young men.

"He-he...Hi, Ren...Hi, Jin..."

"What are you doing?" Weiss asked, with the rest of the group arriving at the scene.

"Uhhhh...reading some books?" Nora unsurely answered.

"In our room?" Ruby questioned.

"We don't have books in ours..."

"So you went to Blake's shelf and had your hands on for her books without permission?" Jin raised an eye brow.

"I saw an interesting book.....about ninjas...I think it should be cool, so I checked it out..."

"Then what happened to the shelf?" Ren interrogated.

Nora immediately had a stiff smile, "I...tripped."

*Jiiiiiiiii~*

The five people stared at the unusually stiff smiling Nora with suspicion. They already got an idea of what really happened here.

"Yep, the shelf fell when she wildly scoured for books." Jin spoke out.

"He-he, sorry..." The bubbly girl scratched her head.

Ren just sighed at his meddling busybody friend, "At least you should clean it up, Nora."

"Huhh...that's an interesting book." Jaune blurted out as his eyes squinted at the sight of a what ca only be described as a 'bizzare book'.

"China Mieville, House of Leaves, The Devil Within, Horse Yoga?...Truth behind the Covers?! Hey guys, look at that book! The cover is so weird!" Ruby listed down the bizzare books.

Well, except for the last two mentioned, the others had some normal titles, but their covers were so weird...

"Oh! There's more! Blake has alot of these weird books, other than her ninja and assassins thingy, there's this book about some tentac-.."

"Nora, just clean the place up. Don't even tell of us about her...interests." Ren said as his eyes swiveled, looking at a particular bizzare book at his right.

Meanwhile, Ruby's eyes found herself an interesting book. She skipped towards its location and she quietly picked it up before staring at its cover - which was technically black with only the title and some few disclaimers just below it in smaller letters.

"Hey guys, what does an Ero-Novel mean? Oh, and it also says '18+ Only'."

Just as Ruby was about to open in a random page, in the next moment, Jin disappeared from its spot and immediately grabbed the book from his sister's hands, not giving her a chance to look at its contents.

"Ah, Jin! Give it back! I wanna check it out!" Ruby comically flayed her hands around, trying to get her hands back on the book.

Jin was using his superior height and was suppressing her by pressing her head down and helding the book high up in the air. She had no hope on getting it back.

"You can't read this Ruby. Trust me, its for your own good."

"Eh?? Whyyyy?"

"Lets just say that its manner of, 'What has been seen, cannot be unseen'.....You know what, lets help Nora clean all this up before Bla-.."

*Creakkk...*

Jin's dialogue was interrupted when everyone heard a door creaking. There, they saw the girl herself come out of the bathroom. She was already in her uniform, and she just seemed to have finished fixing her hair or something.

"What..."

Blake's eyes went wide at the scene and she looked at Nora's unusually stiff smile. Her books were in a mess and was scatterd everywhere, as well as her shelf being down on the floor.

Nora was the one who obviously did this, all because she was meddling with her books.

"Hi, Blake!"

"Why..." The yellow-eyed girl growled.

Nora turned to the resr her friends for help, only to see a dust cloud - they were already gone.

'Renny...even you?' She thought, clearly betrayed.
