Chapter 3: Spying On The Spys
Day Later. Night time
On a path surrounded by forest two large green doors connected to a huge red wall can be seen. Inside the ground directly in front is Ryu was happy to have made it. He was tired and ready to sleep for the night. The problem with this though was where exactly would he sleep.
Sleeping while submerged is really weird. And as modern person he certainly cant always sleep in a tent on the ground. Thats just wrong.
Ryu: Lets just look around for now. Hopefully I can find a house that doesn't have anyone inside.
As he continued on he saw the splendid night life of the Leaf village. Marveling at the happy atmosphere even during this sensitive period. He couldn't help but sigh Konoha is really number one. In the sand village night time would sometimes have sand storms that could be dangerous for anyone.
Seeing the splendor of the village only heightened his resolve to make the hidden sand his benchmark. Make his legacy not just at the expense of peoples lives but also Village Improvement. Putting the thoughts in the back of his mind he began to search for a place to sleep for the night.
Eventually he found a pretty large apartment building. Looking around he found a complex with no one or anything that seemed to hint at someone living there. Smiling he immediately came from the ground and set up some traps just in case. Laying on the bed he immediately fell asleep.
Next Morning
Waking up he went to the bathroom and freshened up. He then proceeded to cover the windows with parts of his tent to prevent passing Ninja, Anbu or Root from seeing him. Sitting back on the bed he pulls out a scroll.
Poof
With a small cloud of smoke three folders appeared. Opening the first he sees a middle aged man with a rough beard. This man is working as a spy by being a waiter at the AkimitchI barbecue restaurant. He has really sensitive hearing and is capable of hearing far conversations without difficulty.
Reading this Ryu couldnt help but nod in approval at this spies choice. One must know that the AkimitchI aren't just the AkimitchI. The AkimitchI belong to a trio the Ino-Shika-Cho Squad isn't just for a spectacular combination. These clans are friends since the warring states period.
That means that the Nara clan who are basically the tactical mind of Konoha are more than likely to be there. This allows for more information to be gained without any risk. Out of the three this guy has the most probability to still be alive. Opening up another one he showed some surprise.
The second guy was also pretty smart. He managed to became a Chunin who works as one of the gaurds of the gate in the morning till evening. Although smart he could still be called to do mission if necessary. Opening the last folder it said that this guy is a Jonin.
However based off the information of the other two he seemed to be acting a little weird since their last contact. Seeing this situation Ryu decided to start looking for this guy first. The other two could wait until after he checked out this guy.
The problem with this is that he doesn't know where to begin looking for this guy. Sighing he decided to look at the guy working in the AkimitchI restaurant. After all he was hungry and food pills aren't exactly delicious. Speaking of food pills he should go and steal that book of the Nara clan that helped Tsunade save Choji and the others.
Ryu: Sigh its just another thing I have to steal. Konoha should just share somethings with the less fortunate.
Sinking into the bed his figure left the room as he traveled around in search of the barbecue restaurant. After searching a few he finally found the right one. Looking at the guy with a happy smile and great enthusiasm Ryu questioned if he was a spy or not.
Shaking his head he went towards the kitchen. Sadly he was reminded that at these joints they cook the meat and veggies themselves. Although rice and veggies are good its better with meat. Not discouraged he went to the other side of town.
Seeing a group of people he decided that they would become his victims. The next moment three heads appeared from his body. One on his stomach, another on his back and the last on his shoulder. This is his version of shadow clones with his Zetsu ability. He plants three spores into his own body and have them grow from his chakra.
Sadly he can only make three of them right now without affecting his Chakra to much. After a few seconds four of him appeared in the ground seemingly floating there. Each of them went under a person and a finger stretched out to touch the bottom of that persons shoe.
Then each one of them slowly turned into the person they touched. After fully transforming the four left back towards the restaurant. After finding a secluded space they each came out of the ground and walked towards the restaurant.
After getting a table and eating they each showed a smile. The next second before the waiter could come and bring the check a few smoke bombs went off. When the smoke cleared Ryu and his clones were already gone. Inside the ground Ryu watched with a smile before leaving to safe distance.
He stayed in the ground until night time. After seeing the Suna spy leave the restaurant he followed him. After arriving at a relatively nice apartment building the guy went inside. After he entered his home and began to relax. Ryu wanted to appear but he could see that someone else was there. The Spy also seemed to know that the person was there but ignored him.
Spy 1: Stop hiding in the dark like some creep Zumi. What do you want.
' Zumi. Thats the name of the Jonin spy. Oh now this is interesting. '
Zumi: Have you been in contact with the village lately Jiro:
Jiro: Sigh. I keep telling you no. I'm not stupid enough to try and contact the village in such a situation. So why keep asking? Have you betrayed Suna Zumi?
Zumi remained quiet for a while before saying.
Zumi: Inform me when you've had contact?
Jiro: Yeah. Whatever.
Zumi disappeared from his position but. Jiro never let go of his Kunai. Instead he tightened his grip and seemed to be waiting for something. Ryu seeing this eye's became cold. He had already made a clone to follow Zumi. After seeing that no one else was around Ryu spoke.
Ryu: He's gone no need to be so tense.
Jiro: Who!?
Ryu: The Sands of time show no mercy.
Jiro: Sigh. For the sands of time are without feelings.
Ryu slowly came up from the ground in his genin uniform and said.
Ryu: My name is Ryu the grandson of Elder Ebizo. I was sent here to establish contact with the three remaining spies. But from what i can see Zumi has betrayed the village.
Jiro: Most likely. Infact i dont know. He was sent on a mission about two months ago with some guy named Danzo and a few other Shinobi. I dont kn
Ryu: No need to keep explaining. I know what's happening he's being controlled by Danzo. Danzo is an elder in the village who owns Root another form of Anbu thats under his control. A group of suicidal mind slaves.
Jiros eyes shrunk as his face turned pale. His fist clenched as he trembled slightly. Ryu understood this as they are still comrades who came on this infiltration mission together.
Ryu: Don't even think about it. The Root seal is like the Hyugas Caged Bird seal. Only Danzo knows how to dispose of it. What we need to do now is to find out how far Danzo has brainwashed him. The second is to find a way to get you and the other out of here so others can come in.
Jiro: Then what about Zumi?
Ryu: He'll die a hero. My clone is following him. His destination is most likely Danzo at Roots base. After determining that the other is still trustworthy or not under any brainwashing I'll contact lord KazeKage and the Council with my own Ideas and let them determine things.
Jiro: I understand.
Ryu: Also: can you make a map of the village for me. Mark the Senju clan, Hyuga clan, Sarutobi clan, Uchiha clan, Nara Clan, Akimitchi clan, Yamanaka clan and Konohas Hospital.
Jiro: What are you planning?
Ryu: I plan to steal a few Jutsu and information on various clans abilities and studies. After all we'll be facing these people soon. With my ability unless a Hyuga is actively using their eye's no one can find me.
Jiro remembered how Ryu came in and indeed that was the case. He himself is a sensor and to not sense him scared him. Tossing this out of his thoughts he got to making a rough map of the leaf village aswell as marking the various places Ryu mentioned. Ryu received the map and then said
Ryu: After tomorrow I'll send the information of what's happened to Lord KazeKage. It should take a day or two for the information to reach them. After that it should appear after a day of them deciding. Once they've made their decisions we'll leave. So make your preparations to run when its time.
Jiro didn't say anything as he continued to look at the place that Ryu sank into. ' This must be a new bloodline limit ability. How terrifying. '
