The day started out as any other, clear skies across the empty land with a warm gentle breeze caressing everyone's cheeks.
I, as in Adam Farlinger a successful politician with lots of money, had a good life and I made a lot of my money off feeding the people of Massachusetts(a state within the USA) with lies all though I'm sure not many liked me down there. Hell, even I didn't like myself!
I was going to turn forty two this month and my cousin, my closest friend, had said he had it all planned out.
As I got out of work, exhausted and feeling like a sac of flour that had been thrown around by a couple of kids who were to poor to have any real toys. Getting into my car I checked the back seats to see if that seat my little dog had torn up wasn't worse, when I saw a man.
This man, even while sitting, I could tell he was not to be messed with. He could have at least stood 6'5 if we were out the car having a nice chat. Now, the last thing this man was gonna do was have a nice chat with me.
"Adam?" The man bellowed, making my neck hair stand on end.
"Yes…W-whose ask-k-ing?" I nervously stuttered back.
"Good. I thought I got the wrong vehicle again. The last one didn't go well," he lead on. "Blood is so hard to clean up." He looked down dejected at his past misdoings but looked back up motivated.
"Welp. Still found you. K, so ummm… I'm gonna need you to die now... I'm like a shinigami in your religion or faith." He said with a smile.
"Sir, hate to interrupt but that's the wrong religion. Also… WHY AM I DYING?!!?"
"Ugh! Knew I forgot something! Uh, well… that's because…" he looked around scouring for an answer to his problem. "Because my boss told me to kill you." His previous smile had returned to sentence me to death.
A few moments passed in silence as I stared into the mirror, not knowing what to do with myself. The man pulled a gun out of his black trench coat and pointed it at my head.
BANG!
A gunshot rang throughout the building, although no one seemed to hear anything. Everyone continued on with their normal activities. The only difference between before Adam had died and after, is that now they no longer had remembered Adam or anything to do with him.
—————————————————
Adam felt warmth when he awoke. A gentle embrace as like a mother embracing her child. But maybe that wasn't just fantasy.
He opened his eyes and light flooded his sight, forcing him to close them again. He heard a small cry, and a mother shushing. The only weird thing was that he felt the touch, and that his voice was not listening.
"It's okay little one, just sleep, sleeping is good. Yeah?" The women comforted "him" and pulled "him" closer to her chest.
'What? What is happening?!' Thoughts swirled around his mind, think of anything that could explain his less than pleasant situation.
The only thing he could possibly think of was that this was reincarnation. Sure, it might seem weird, but when he put the facts in order he saw it explained most of them.
'The baby crying, well me crying, and the warm embrace of a mother. She also talked and held me closer, she is most definitely my mother, somehow.'
Adam was lifted into a crib by a man with a strong grip and wearing a blue top and maroon trousers.
—————————————————
I watched the people leave the room, but didn't fail to notice the medival-ish style of clothing.
'So, have I gone back in time and reincarnated, or have I travelled worlds?' I added that last ridiculous proposition because of my friend who never stopped discussing the books he called 'light novels' and the he called 'isekao' or was it 'isekai'? Either way he scolded us once and ordered us to say 'status' if we ever found ourselves reincarnated, though it was silly I did as I was told.
'Status'
Nothing happened, so I started to close my eyes, when writing appeared within my head.
'Initiating Divine Talent System…'
'1%...24%...52%...95%...100%'

Speechless, I laid for what felt like an eternity. I just stared at the screen, not knowing what to do.
[What is your first command host?]
I didn't know how to answer, so I just stayed silent.
[Since host has not answered, protocol 'assist' has been initiated]
[Stats have been added and skills upgraded. Host, this may hurt]
Jolting pain courses through my body, making me screech in pain. Once again no one seemed to hear the sound just like the gunshot in the parking lot.

After about an hour of pain, I awoke to see my status as updated.

I looked at it dazed, like I had done a lot of recently. The new status screen surprised me, but I didn't know what was high and what was low. 'System-'
[Call me Neowalt, host]
'Why,' I asked within my head.
[It means 'fate turns' in the old language. My maker called me this. Host, Would you like to see your talent?]
'Sure, but are my stats strong?' I wondered.
[As you wish. Each stat for humans is usually a few points over their age unless they had trained in an art, which in simple terms is usually with weapons, hands, or magic]
'Magic?' Possibilities of great power wizzes around my head, opening the door of imagination.
[Yes. Magic, there are many ways to use it. With the spirits, the laws of nature, mana, and even with what a race, the sils, called true magic, although no one knows what or where it is. Even if it really exists]
'Well. I'm just confused…'
[That's fine host because you don't need to understand it. Just live your life fulfilled. This is your 'life as it begins']
'Yeah, lets hope it's good.'
Well since this is my first chapter of my first story, I just felt a little nervous making it. So I would appreciate it if you people can show your appreciation by reviewing it. I would love the constructive criticism.
Well... thanks!
