Chapter 4: CH4 ‘Oh Micah!’
I'll be switching to third person view from now on as I feel I've not fully captured the characters emotions. So until I have practiced enough on that, I feel I should keep their thoughts hidden.
Alodar entered into the hall. Acknowledging his parents, he sat down in a seat on the right side of the table. He squirmed about while silence hung, like a spider's web in a dark corner.
Note started with small talk that eventually lead to more serious topics.
"So Alodar, how was your talk with the princess? I'm really curious on what you discussed." Note kept a stern face, looking lifeless lay in Alodar's direction.
"Nothing worth mentioning. We only sustained small chat and toured my room." Alodar kept a strait face, although he was still inexperienced in maintaining it.
A knock was heard at the door and Note ordered it be open.
From behind it's closed doors lied a beauty as radiant as the stars in the night sky.
"Amy dear, come. Sit right next to me. Eugene, get my wife some food." For once, Note's face carved a smile on its sternly chiseled mask.
"Yes master! Right away," Eugene shouted. He sped out the room, heading for the kitchen. Not long after he left, the princess finally arrived.
"Ah! Princess, welcome! I hope you find our meal delightful. Sit wherever you wish. Sansr, go to the kitchen and prepare the finest meal for our dear princess," he ordered the nearest butler, a new recruit who started about a month ago.
The butler left without another word. Note turned back to the princess and said, "Sorry for the wait. It'll only be a few minutes."
"No need to rush Duke Lanett, I'm sure we can still find topics to discuss before we eat." Alexis flashed mesmerizing smile, lighting up the whole room. "I do have a question though. How did Alodar get his birthmark?" She moved her gaze from Note to Alodar, prompting him to answer.
"I've had this scar since I've been born. There was no accident, I just was born with this weird mark." Alodar sheepishly blushed and poking his head with his finger.
"That's nice," Alexis starts. "Duke, don't you have other children?"
"Yes, in fact I do. Elias, born in 1203 and is now thirteen and Leopard, born in 1205 and is now eleven. Elias is good with the halberd, our family's weapon in our coat of arms and Leopard has an unusual gift with money. While Elias plays pranks on his other brothers, and Leopard usually is distant to his brothers, there is nothing wrong with their relationship." Note showed a face of pride as he talked of his three sons.
"Well, they seem that they could be good people one day." Alexis looks around the table and speaks her mind, "But I have to ask, where exactly are they?"
"Well they are both on a little vacation in Lotto, touring the Great Cathedral of Saint Micah. Their also looking for signs of an organization I've been tracking down." He looks around and lowers his voice, "But I can't tell you which group, so no asking."
"Don't worry Duke, I have no interest on political matters as of yet. And I do believe our food is here, so no answers for me." When Alexis finished her statement, trolleys of food clampered their way into the room, filling it with sounds of jingle bells, cowbells, and regular bells.
Eugene first served to the duke, then to the princess and Amy, then finally to Alodar. everyone dug into their food, cleaning dish after dish of food.
By the time they had finished, it was time for Note's daily forest walk.
"Well, princess and son, it's time for me to get some exercise. I'll be back in about a candle stick." Note got up and was reading for the door when he is stopped by princess Alexis.
"Duke Lanett, I believe me and Alodar could use some exercise too. Would that be a problem?" She looked innocently at Note in a way he couldn't resist.
"Alright. But please do not wonder off far. If you get lost I'll get charged with treason, and I really don't need jail time." He softly hovered his eyes over her, and nodded.
"Great! Then I'll get Alodar!" Alexis jumper for joy at the prospect of adventuring in the woods, which she had never been allowed in the castle.
Alexis rushed over to Alodar nudging him. He looked up and saw a perfect face displaying a smile of unimaginable joy.
Once he learned of where she wanted to go, he immediately agreed, wishing to see more of the radiant smile.

In the forest a group of low-life bandits resides in a large clearing northeast of the mansion, about five miles away.
They were unusually close today and they were discussing a nefarious plan.
"'Re we re'lly duin' this? I thought u wer' jus' jokin'. This is suicide pepl'. A prinses' is way beyon' 'r abilities," One bandit with a sharp dagger hanging around his waist spoke.
"Don't worri'. I got us cover'd. We got urselv's a strong ba'ker. Some people called 'Hardvain?' 'Hard fang?' Na', its definitely "Diehard. Or was it 'Difang. Whatever, we still got a ba'ker."
"How we gona start 'r kid 'napping', wen? they're inside? Don't we need to lur' hr outsid?' A bandit asked cautiously searching for any sign of danger.
"Twat was the oringin'l pl'n, but I've just heard from my source inside that they willz be coming out for 'freshz air.'" The bandit stood up and posed, feeling quite proud of his self achievement and over sized ego.
They walked through the trees, bushes, and branches and finally made it to the Lanett mansion.
"Ok men, 'r mission today is to assa'sinate Princess Alexis Lotto Pendell. If we fail, we will be severely punizzed and discriminated by all of this 'higher organi'sash'on'
"Sir if we want to act, we should act now, they are already are the move," one bandit.
"It's time to battle," roared another.
"Well th'n, le'z go and collect o'r muni!!" The boss expressed throughout his ranks. "Charge!"
Most charged at Princess Alexis while some went for Alodar as to not leave any witnesses.
"Oh Micah!"
