Chapter 6: Chapter 6 : The wild hunt begins.

[The brown bear is dead, you gain 70 experience point.]

Sig' didn't stop to rest, he started running again, jumping above stumps, hiding in the shadow of the trees, he was like a true assassin.

It has already been 30 minutes since the bounty announcement, the young man was now deeper in the forest, but he knew it didn't mean he was safe.

The positive point was that if people were busy hunting him, they weren't gaining any experience, so little by little he would get an advantage compared to them.

[The brown bear is dead, you gain 70 experience point.]

[Congratulations! You're now level 2! You get 5 stat point and one spell point.]

Sig' was a little bit excited, he immediately spent his stat point, 1 for stamina, 4 for agility. This gave him 80 HP, he didn't feel as weak as before.

However he wondered, should he spent his spell point in Vicious strike, or keep it for the moment?

The spell wouldn't upgrade before he spent 9 more point for it, so for the moment he choose to keep it.

If he changed his mind, he could still use it later.

Not far away there was a rustle in the bushes, Sig' raised his head before immediately hiding behind a big tree.

Just a few seconds later, two people emerged from the bushes, happily chatting.

"…Honestly this guy must be crazy, there is tones of players in the forest, he won't be able to get out of here alive!" said the first.

"Maybe, but you have to admit that it's quite courageous to dare opposing a big guild like Black Beard Company." Answered his friend.

Sig' coldly smiled, ready to fight, but choose to wait a little bit more to get more information.

Morgana would surely be proud of him.

"I heard that the Guild master himself is here too, wouldn't be cool if we could meet him?"

"From what I know, they are actually hunting per group of five, in order to get experience points while trying to find the other fool, maybe we'll run into them!"

The young man was pretty pleased with all he learned, now it was time to act!

They didn't see him coming, and when they finally noticed him, it was already too late, Sig' engaged the first, he held an axe, surely a warrior.

While he stabbed him, the young man made sure that his opponent was always between him and the other one, because this last one was a hunter and couldn't fire without injuring his friend.

Those two were easier to kill than the last group, they didn't try to flee but they weren't able to do anything.

As time goes by Sig' was getting better, he understood the mechanics of the Player versus Player system and used them to his advantage.

But it was only the beginning, from what he heard, his true enemy was there in this forest, if the young man was able to kill him, his subordinates will surely cower and flee.

If you take down the big one at first, the others will think twice before trying anything against you, it was what he learned before.

Still, there was a problem, he was still too weak. Against one or two opponents he had no problems, but if he had to face more, Sig' would be in danger.

For now, he needed better gears, or more levels.

The young man decided to continue exploring the forest, stopping only for killing bears or players if they were on his way.

Little by little rumors about a mad killer roaming in the forest started spreading among players and even if the bounty was attractive, they didn't dare trying their chance.

Soon, the only players left there were those of the Black Beard Company.

Quietly seated in a corner of an inn, Morgana was looking at the forum, smiling at the numerous complains of the unlucky players who met Sig' in the forest.

There were also players who were accusing the Black Beard Company to be in cahoots with the mad killer and using him as a bait to kill those who were fooled.

The young lady smirked, it was indeed a good plan, but did they really think that far ?

She was surprised by how good Sig' was at this, being able to kill that much people so quickly after the release of the game.

It was as if he had done this all his life.

Morgana shivered while remembering his gaze in the narrow street last time, he was so young yet so dangerous. But then she also remembered him each night, screaming his pain, like a wounded animal.

Where will all of this lead them ? The young lady didn't know it herself.

"Have mercy please, I just joined the guild to please a friend I…"

Sig' didn't let him finish his sentence and ended his life with a quick slash.

He sprawled, all of this was pretty tiring, it was the twentieth guild member he killed in the last hour.

[Congratulations! After hitting 1000 times the weak spot of an opponent, you unlock the special ability "ambidexterity".]

Curious, Sig' opened his spell book, and found something in the corner:

"Ambidexterity, passive spell, you can handle two one handed weapon."

Sig' involuntarily smiled, it was exactly what he needed!

Look like killing people all day long was finally a good idea, but now he had to find another weapon. Maybe he could find one at the town, but he couldn't leave the forest now, here he had the advantage.

Or at least not before he made them all understand he wasn't someone to mess with.

He read in the manual that players couldn't drop their gears before the level 10, or else it wouldn't have been difficult for him to find what he needed.

But he trusted his luck, the young man will land his hand on another weapon sooner or later.

For now he had another task in mind, find Black Beard and kill him, only after that will he be able to get out of this forest.

This time he chose a different strategy, if he was right all the unrelated people should have leave the forest, leaving only those of the Black Beard Company.

In that case Sig' couldn't slaughter his way until the chief, he had to be a little bit more careful, or else his opponents would be able to know where he was just by following his victims.

It means that he had to stay hidden until he finds who he wanted.

Staying low-profile before striking from the shadow, it was his specialty, and it was time for the world to know it.

Well, maybe not the world, but at least the Black Beard Company.

After spending a little bit of time in the forest Sig' had a mental map in his head, and he was able to roughly estimate the road of the people he met.

They didn't seem to have a specific formation and were wandering around, it was perfect for him.

Sig' carefully avoided two group of five players, only stopping to hear their conversation.

"This place is truly perfect to gain experience, the chief is a genius!" One of them exclaimed.

"I have to admit that using a poor single player as an excuse to take possession of an entire place without enduring the wrath of everyone was well-played." Admitted another.

Sig' frowned, so they used him?

Without knowing why this simple idea made him angry, they tarnished his name just to get an advantage?

That was even more unfair that what he thought!

Hiding inside a bush, he called Morgana.

"Yes Sig'? Do you have a problem?" She asked with a hint of worry.

"Not really, but I want you to spread something on the forum."

"Really?" She couldn't hide her surprise, it wasn't his usual method.

"I want you to denounce the fact that Black Beard Company sent others players to death in the forest just to get rid of them and take control of the area to gain more experience point."

Morgana smirked, look like rumors were indeed true.

"It's a pretty bold statement, do you have any clue?"

"Since when rumors needs clues? Just spread it, people will choose to believe it or not, we only need to sow the seed of the discord."

Morgana nodded, he was right, people loved those sort of things, even if it wasn't right.

"How is the situation in the forest?" She asked curiously.

"I'm cleaning trashes, this shouldn't be long before I'm done, don't worry." He answered with a cold tone. All this angered him and now he needed to vent his anger.

"Take care and remember to tell me when it's over."

He nodded before hanging up.

Continuing on his way, he soon heard someone screaming.

"Be careful, he's extremely powerful, try your best to avoid his strike, we don't have a healer for now!" Someone roared.

His tone was domineering, surely someone who was used to be obeyed.

Listening his instinct Sig' headed toward the voice.

In a clearing he found a group of five players fighting a big red bear, he had a scar on his muzzle and blood on his claws, this was the biggest beast Sig' had ever saw.

Against him was a brawny bare chested man with a big axe which he made swirling around him.

At his side were two other guys, a thief and a brawler, Sig' guessed from their weapons; and behind them there were a wizard and a hunter.

Taking advantage of his hideout, the young man inspected the bear.

[Big red bear, white average boss, 1150/1300 PV, level 8]

A boss! From the information this one should drop at least one white average item. The game manual said that boss were shared in the same category as the loots, meaning that a white average boss will drop a piece of gear of equal quality.

Still, for a group of players to try a boss which had 7 more level compared to them, without a healer, they were pretty ambitious.

One look at their names made Sig' frowning.

[Black Beard, warrior level 1, Black Beard Company]

So the leader was exactly the one he was looking for! This gave Sig' a good idea.

Why not using the situation at his advantage? They were busy fighting a boss, and surely in order to keep all the experience point for themselves, they didn't ask the others to come.

They also didn't have a healer, from what Sig' knew, the believers couldn't heal from the start and were obliged to wait for the same skill book he had to get their first healing spell.

It was the perfect occasion for him, but he decided to wait.

Why content yourself with just one bird, when you can use a stone to get two?

Why don't let them weakening the boss before killing them and getting all the loot and experience point for himself?

Sig' grinned, it was time for payback.
