"Hold on!!!, Hold on!!! Sorry, I just realised, I have a few more questions. To tell you the truth, I haven't been dealing with what happened last night. I was just in shock earlier and then was presented with this opportunity or whatever this is."
"Yes I figured, I was going to set you up with someone to talk to, help you figure things out. Take things slow, don't worry about this stuff, enjoy your life, you may or may not like the Academy or what you need to do there. All these decisions you can make later."
"Uhh yes got that, you continue to underestimate me, I was going to ask who all I am allowed to tell about what I have found out till now and how much of it I can tell them?"
"Oh right that, You can't tell anyone already in the know, that's why the Academy also has a cover for your parents since you are going to be travelling abroad and will need approval from them."
"OK that's not really going to be easy, but I can deal with it. What about Nebula? She has been absorbing the exotic particles NS 243, so will you tell her?"
"No, we tested her already and it is not something she is doing but you who is controlling what that energy does. You may be doing it instinctively and when you get to the academy we will try to see if any of the scientists can help you control it to see if you can use it for something. Worst case you can at least try to use to clean up your waste food with the energy."
"HAHA very funny Doc. But alright I get it. Just to let you know I think I need to do something that I think I should do. I think I need to distance myself from my current life."
"Wait a minute you don't need to do that, actually that is the exact opposite of what is recommended by the guidelines. It's not good for your mental health to do this."
"Actually, it's time to tell you the truth, I knew about the energy. I can't control it or do anything with it but I can sense it and I didn't even know it could get out of my body since I haven't ever sensed it leaving my body. But you just told me yesterday and today that it has been leaking from my blood and with contact from lips to Nebula. If it was just as inane with everything like it was with Nebula I wouldn't care but I saw those dinner leftovers being decimated when I bled over it. I could sense the energy right up till the point that the drop of blood left my body. But as soon as I stopped sensing it, it didn't dissipate it landed on that chicken leg, as soon as it did it spread and completely disintegrated the meat and the bone, left no trace at all. Imagine if that happened to someone else"
"Yes but that doesn't affect any living tissue, we saw that when I touched your blood and nothing happened, it didn't harm me or get absorbed into my skin instead it just faded away. You don't need to worry about it."
"No, you don't get it, how can I not worry, I can't control this energy and it acts according to my instincts as you said. Next time I get into a fight it might not be with Assasins but instead, with some classmate that I got into an argument with and a drop of blood from my body could disintegrate them entirely. But that's not the nightmare scenario, the nightmare scenario is if for some reason I am angry with Nebula or with somebody else and I kiss her and the Anger makes the Energy do bad stuff. What do you think that would do for my mental health?"
"OK, that is a problem that we didn't consider. But it's not as big a deal as you think it is, you are unlikely to use it in an offensive manner as you haven't done so even under the threat of death in different attacks. But in this situation, I suppose if it brings you peace of mind, but it's not really necessary."
"It's fine, There is this saying with great power comes great responsibility, Since I have received this power, it's my responsibility to make sure it doesn't cause any harm."
"That's a nice saying who said that?"
"Really Uncle Ben ... Uhh Oh right never mind."
"Oh come on tell me."
"Just forget it alright. I have the card, I'll call you when I graduate to join Communications, I'll keep the secrets and do what's best for everyone, not just me. It's what's necessary, you don't need to worry about me. I'll take care of it. Thanks."
"Alright then be all wise, mysterious and moody. Have a nice Day."Then she left me alone with my thoughts.
I would have to break up with Nebula for her safety and make sure to not get hurt where I could bleed on someone I would miss. I would also have to start my own experiments to make sure I can detect this energy outside my body now. This was going to be a very long year. I then went back to sleep, dreading the events of the day that was to come and the things that I would have to do to make sure that everyone else around me remained safe. Everything I knew about the future was already shot to hell with this SHIELD and STAKE business except that I was going to break up with Nebula, I guess destiny really screwed with me on this one.
