Chapter 76: Tournament of Power Part 1
"Really?!!!" Goku seemed a little bummed out.
"Yeah, it's about time I put an end to my story," Kibo said as he looked up.
"If you need our help..." Vegeta was about to offer their aid when Kibo held his hand up and interrupted him.
"I give you a call. I didn't give you those Summoning Seals for nothing," Kibo declared as he made a hand sign, summoning the kids back from Universe 6.
The Z-Fighters' kids came back alongside Kibo's.
Vegeta and the rest joined Beerus and Whis on their celestial chariot before they all headed off to the void realm.
When they arrived, the group saw the massive ring set up floating in the endless dark smog.
Kibo and his family sat in the stone-like stands next to the other gods while the competitors took their position.
When it came time to start, chaos erupted all across the arena.
Vegeta and Goku sat on top of a hillside, looking over the battle while preserving their energy.
Gohan paired everyone up in two men teams and fanned out in an outward spiral. A perfect strategy for handling their opponents and making a net they can't escape.
Kibo spotted Jiren standing in the distance and smiled before saying, "This is going to be a hell of a fight."
Cero and Lapis teamed up and encountered Frost.
The Frost Demon didn't even get a chance to attack before the Android and Cyborg combo smashed into him and sent him flying off the edge of the arena with a single kick to the gut.
Around the same time, both Piccolo and Gohan ran across the team from Universe 9.
With some swift movements and martial skill, the two warriors knocked them all out of the ring in a few seconds.
Lazuli and Krillin came across the two invisible opponents first. Krillin
played the fool while running past them. However, once he felt their Ki waver, Krillin struck out.
With a fierce Super Solar Flare, the two insect-like creatures were blinded and forced into the open.
With their camouflage compromised and the loss of their sight, Krillin grabbed the two before chucking them off the edge with a power throw.
"Well, I guess that takes care of that," Krillin patted his hands.
"Good job, honey!" Lazuli said as she kissed his cheek before they went back to the plan.
"Got to give it to Gohan and Piccolo. This plan is actually pretty effective," Krillin said as they continued to fan out in a spiral pattern.
Raditz and Bardock beat down anything they came across, knocking them out and tossing them out of the ring.
"Universe 9 lost, erased."
"Universe 10, erased."
"Universe 2, erased."
"Universe 3, erased."
"Universe 4, erased."
Universe after Universe was wiped out from existence by Zeno. Within a few minutes, only Universes 7, 6, and 11 remained.
Bardock stood across from the Universe 6 Saiyan and said, "You must be Cabba, correct?"
Cabba nodded his head and said, "You look an awful lot like Son Goku. Are you his brother?"
Raditz laughed as he stood across from Kale and Caulifla.
"What's so funny?" Caulifla asked while tilting her head.
"I'm his brother. That's our father," Raditz said between chuckles.
Bardock slapped the back of his son's head and turned his attention back to the Saiyans of Universe 6 before saying, "Well, power up to your best, because from what we're sensing, your base forms won't be enough."
The three Saiyans looked at each other before nodding their heads.
They powered up to SS3 while Kale used her Legendary Super Saiyan 2.
Raditz let out a whistle as he sensed their energies.
However, once the two transformed into Super Oozaru's, the Universe 6 Saiyans were beaten down thoroughly.
The trio attempted to stand against the father and son assault, but it was too much for them to bear.
Kale started to grow stronger throughout the fight. Bit by bit, she was catching up to the power of the Super Oozarus.
Sensing the change in the Legendary Super Saiyan's growth, Bardock's face grew heavy and immediately focused on Kale. His barrage of punches and kicks forced Kale to slide back to the edge of the arena when she tried to use a mouth blast to take him out.
The Experienced Saiyan didn't fall for it. When Bardock dodged, he pushed to make that last step so that he could kick her off. However, Kale caught his foot and grinned, "Too late! I caught up!"
Bardock grinned and said, "No, you lost."
Suddenly powering up to True Super Saiyan God Red, Bardock pushed Kale off the ledge and left her stunned at the power of God Ki.
Caulifla's eyes widen as she watched her best friend's defeat. The rage pushed her past her limits. However, once Raditz transformed into his God state, he flung them off the edges with ease.
Vegeta sighed as he headed off to fight the Pride Troopers. He was a little disappointed in Cabba's progress.
Goku joined them as they used their base forms to dominate the arena.
Toppo was taken out by a simple Super Saiyan transformation. Goku's base form had tripled since their last meeting, so there was no need to push it too hard.
Vegeta knocked out the Kahseral, Dyspo, and the rest of the squad with ease.
Vegeta and Goku then turned to Jiren and said, "Well, then, who gets to fight the tough guy?"
At the same time, Piccolo and Gohan had encountered the Namekians from Universe 6.
The Namekians used powerful magic and strange attacks, but when the two from Universe 7 transformed into Gods, they were easily beaten.
Gohan and Piccolo stood victorious and promised to resurrect the Universes after they win.
While Vegeta and Goku were playing rock paper scissors, Jiren frowned and said, "Both of you come at me."
Ignoring Jiren's demand, Vegeta won and threw his hands into the air before saying, "Take that, Kakarot!"
Goku held the scissor hand sign up and sighed as he thought, "Darn it! Next time I'll pick paper!"
Jiren seemed rather annoyed by their attitudes and powered up a bit before saying, "You think you have the time to joke around."
He charged at Goku and Vegeta. However, Jiren was stopped by coming face to face with a True Super Saiyan God Orange.
Vegeta gripped his fist as his power radiated throughout the arena.
With a fierce uppercut to his chin, Vegeta sent Jiren into the air before teleporting behind him and kicking his neck with another powerful front-flipping blow.
As Jiren crashed into a nearby hillside, the Grand Priest wondered, "Hmm, I wonder if I made the arena tough enough for their fight?"
Vegeta then watched Jiren's power explode from a distance.
The red aura surged into the sky for miles.
Jiren cracked his knuckles and said, "Maybe this will be a bit hard. You know, if you two team up, you might just stand a chance."
"Our Saiyan Pride would never allow us to interfere in each other's personal fights."
Jiren ginned before saying, "Then that pride will be your downfall."
Vegeta laughed as he used a Kokoro-Ken times 50 and punched Jiren in the gut so hard, the giant mammoth of an alien was gasping for air.
While Jiren grabbed his stomach and fell to his knees, Vegeta looked down on him and asked, "Is this all you can do?"
Jiren puked out a mouthful of blood before growling at Vegeta and releasing his full power.
With a series of attacks, Vegeta began to dodge and weave with perfect accuracy.
Jiren's energy continued to explode as the fight grew more intense.
Vegeta then countered a punch, deflecting Jiren's fist off to the side as Vegeta punched him in the gut again.
Following up with a spinning kick to the side, Vegeta sent Jiren flying through the air.
Vegeta was about to land another punch when Jiren pushed himself to his absolute limit.
Jiren grabbed Vegeta's fist and lifted him into the air before blasting directly at his stomach.
Vegeta teleported behind Jiren and kicked his back with all of his strength.
Jiren crashed into the ground like a meteor, breaking the arena into eight pieces on impact.
The hulk of an alien then stood up from the debris, his clothes torn, and wounds covered his body.
"Your abilities are impressive. But all is for naught in the face of absolute power," Jiren declared as he started to shout and power up past his limits.
Vegeta frowned as the heat coming off of Jiren's skin erupted into flames.
Sensing Jiren's power rising to entirely new levels, even Kibo whistled in surprise.
Vegeta sensed danger and tried to move out of the way, but Jiren was just too fast.
Vegeta took a full blow to the gut and coughed up blood.
Before he could regain his composure, Jiren grabbed his face and repeatedly slammed the Saiyan King onto the ground before kicking him away like a soccer ball.
Vegeta, still struggling to recover from the beat-down Jiren gave him, wasn't fast enough to react to the following sphere of energy pink-alien tossed with both of his hands.
As the ground exploded, Jiren's Super Nova form was revealed, standing next to a near unconscious Vegeta.
Vegeta laughed as he powered up to Kokoro-Ken Times 100 and launched out a series of blows against the thin sleek-looking alien.
Over 50 punches to the torso, 40 kicks placed in vital areas, and hundreds of blows with knees and elbows.
However, it appeared that Vegeta's attacks did nothing.
Jiren raised his hand and blasted Vegeta point blank with a flaming sphere of Ki.
Vegeta grabbed hold of the massive ball of energy and tried to push it back.
However, Vegeta's feet sank into the arena grounds before his body was dragged across the floor and pushed to the ledge of the arena, leaving a trail of broken stone in his wake.
Vegeta could still feel his power growing. His Saiyan physiology was attempting to compensate for the power difference and was doing everything in its power to catch up.
However, Goku came by and teleported Vegeta out of the way.
"What the hell, Kakarot?!!! I had him!" Vegeta shouted in anger.
"I just saved your ass! The least you could do is thank me!!!" Goku responded in kind.
"I didn't need your help!" Vegeta yelled.
"Yes, you did!" Goku yelled back.
"How do you know? I could've been at the threshold to achieve a new form!" Vegeta stomped his foot.
"Su~re, you were," Goku said as he threw his arms behind his head and rolled his eyes.
The two growled and butted heads, "You wanna go right here?!"
"As if you could take me in your current condition!"
"I can heal, you moron! FULL HEAL!" Vegeta shouted as he recovered from all his inflictions.
"Thanks, you cooled down yet?" Goku said with a happy grin.
Vegeta's eye twitched as he said, "You..."
The Saiyan King then let out a sigh and said, "Thanks,"
"I thought you said that your pride wouldn't let you accept aid?" Jiren said as he approached the two.
"SHUT UP! What's wrong with relying on help every once in a while?" Vegeta shouted with an embarrassed expression.
"It's weakness," Jiren said as he appeared beside them in a blinding flash of movements.
Goku and Vegeta powered up to full strength and blocked the punch.
The two started fighting together, slowly beating back Jiren with expertly timed movements.
Jiren attempted to punch Goku in the face, but Goku weaved around his fist and hit him in the gut.
Vegeta avoided a kick by jumping and attacking Jiren's chin with a powerful kick of his own.
Jiren hands then turned into blurs as hundreds and thousands of attacks were launched in succession.
Every punch and kick was blocked or evaded by the Saiyan Duo before counterattacking with all of their strength.
Every blow was placed to do the maximum damage while expending the least amount of energy.
"Jiren is losing?" Belmond said with wide eyes and a face full of disbelief.
Jiren's power suddenly spiked as he reached out to grab the two opponents by the head. However, before he could grasp their skulls, the two Saiyans experienced something strange.
