Chapter 3: My World Shattered
(DAPHNE'S POV)
I felt the warmth of the sun reach my cheeks . A smile curved on my lips as I rolled to the other side of the bed while stretching to my hearts content.
God the bed feels comfortable! I wonder how long it has been ever since I have slept on an actual soft bed which doesn't creak every time you make a move. I wonder how long it has been ever since I felt comfortable while sleeping.
It's been years that somehow I forgot the feeling of rolling over the different sides of a bouncy bed!
I rose up and stretched my arms. I rubbed my eyes to double check whether or not I was dreaming.
I mean a huge room with a king size bed with a huge chandelier hanging on a ceiling just for me?! Did I mention that there's a chandelier?! Am I dreaming ? If I am then there's no way in hell I'm waking up! I stood up and skipped my way through the bathroom.
The bathroom was magnificent! The tub is filled with milk with roses floating on top of it and there were romantic red candles here and there. God what an amazing dream this is! I hurriedly stripped out my PJ's and I dipped one toe on the tub.
Just the right temperature. Not too hot ,not too cold! I dipped my whole leg and I finally dove in the tub. I rested my head and I was humming while my hands were busy pulling out the petals of the floating roses.
"It seems like you're enjoying your bath." A voice from the shadows said. I let out a startled yelp as I covered myself and dipped myself deeper into the bath tub.
"What the hell?!" I turned to look at the pervert only to see my sexy as hell Alpha Mate staring at me. His eyes traveled down the part I was desperately covering and a cloud of lust was virtual in his eyes. I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, wishing that he got the message but sadly he just continued to stare.
I cleared my throat "Err... Umm.... can you please... kindly get out? I'll be out in a bit. I just have to change..... or wear something at least."
"No."
My mouth gaped open as to what he said . What does he mean by 'no'?!
"No, meaning you don't want to get out or No, meaning you don't want me to get dressed?"
"Both." he simply said as if it was nothing. I searched his face to check if he was just joking around but sadly he was all serious.
"Uhh..... then what do I do? Do I stay and live here in the bath tub? or am I missing something ?"
He just stood there and stared at my image for a good minute or two before he spun around and went out.
Well that was.... weird. I rised up and searched my eyes for some clothes but all I saw where a well prepared lingerie and a night gown which was see through.
I don't know about you but I am feeling pretty uncomfortable right now. I wore the lingerie and decided not to touch the sensual night gown.
Well need I remind you that I'm still eighteen years of age. To some people that might be a good time to loose your virginity but for me I need to at least be 20 or maybe married before I loose it .... let's just wish that the person that I'd loose it to is 'the one' for me.
I wore the PJ's I wore before again and I went out the bathroom. Phoenix's eyes snapped to my direction as his eyes traveled down and his face contorted showing his disappointment.
"Those are not the clothes I prepared." he said.
"You were the one who prepared what I was going to where?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yes." he simply said.
" You didn't prepare proper clothes! You prepared a night gown which is usually worn during 'night time' and as far as I can see the sun is still shining."
"Oh. then you shall wear it tonight." a smirk was visible on his face making me flush red.
This-this pervert!
He strided towards my direction and in a flash he was in front of me. He looked down at me with those black mysterious eyes that captivated me at the woods . His stare was clearly a look of lust and I was pretty sure my eyes were showing that very same emotion.
My gaze trailed down to his lips and I could feel my breath hitch. He was leaning closer lessening our distance.
My lips was only an inch away from his when a knock disturbed us.
Phoenix let out a growl as he mumbled curses under his breath about how he was planning on murdering the person on the other side of the door. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"No worries we can always do it next time." I said with a smile. What I said seemed to brighten up a teeny bit of his mood since he walked and opened the door with a less grumpy face.
"This better be an emergency or else I'll strangle you."
I couldn't see the person he was talking to since his back was covering my view of him.
"Alpha I'm sorry it's just that the Alpha of the pack we attacked yesterday wants to talk to you."
My heart started hammering against my chest.
Jacob. He'll tell him. He will definitely tell him that I'm a she-wolf without a wolf!
He'll tell him just how useless I truly am!
And then Phoenix would reject me!
No!
He'll leave me!
Wait.... why should I get scared?
I mean mates are supposed to be soul-mates! He'll accept me.
He has to.
I'm his mate.
He's not like the others who just constantly bring me pain.
Right?
He'll accept me.
Yes.
For sure.
Definitely.
He loves me .
We're mates so of course he'll accept me for who I am.Weak or not a mate is a mate.
After constantly battling myself I decided to believe in the power of the moon. The power of mates.
I'll believe in Phoenix.
"Daphne!"
"Yes present sir!" I yelped in panic. As soon as the words left my mouth embarrassment swallowed me.
Argg! How embarrassing! God ! I stared at the floor wishing it would magically open up and swallow me whole.
"Uhh... I was just introducing you to my beta Fabian. Fabian my mate Daphne."
I was too stuck in my own little world that I didn't notice Fabian come up to me.
" Nice to meet you!" Fabian kneeled in front me.
"No! No! Don't kneel! It's not like I'm of a higher ranking!" I panickly said.
"You are of higher ranking. You are our future Luna."
Oh yeah. Since I am Phoenix's mate I'll have to be a Luna since he's an Alpha.
"Still. I don't want you to kneel. It's not like I'm stronger than you." I grabbed Fabians elbow and helped him rise.
"No you are. since Phoenix is our Alpha and YOU are our Luna. You have to be strong."
"Err..."
I made a big gulp as I turned my gaze to Phoenix. Phoenix walked towards me and snaked his arms on my waist as he tugged me close.
"What nonsense are you spouting? Of course she's strong! She won't be my mate if she wasn't." Phoenix said with utmost certainty.
And in a flash my world shattered.
