Chapter 9: The Basic Information.

"What a drag... I don't know where to start..." Talking about a broad topic wasn't the best for Roger. He preferred to not talk at all.

"I am supposed to know? If I knew those things, I wouldn't ask you…" Aron stated a fact, trace of regret appeared on his face.

"Shit. Let's start from basics. This village is part of Blein kingdom, it's positioned at total outskirts and none cares about this region." This area was only officially part of country, still none managed it. Most people believed that Blood city is a border and those villages are made by savages.

"What about people in power?" It was interesting, he had title worthless bastard. Ordinary families didn't care much about such matters, so noble blood must flow inside his veins.

"The highest in power is the Royal Clan. They rule all other noble clans and citizens. I don't know much about relations with other clans. I can't tell you much about those things." Commoners feared the nobles, getting killed or enslaved wasn't anything unusual. It was better to avoid anything related to those clans.

"What are the noble clans?" Aron wanted to get more information, someday he will get back to his clan and properly 'thank' his father.

"There are few mayor clans, I don't know much about them. I know only two things, they have strange powers and life of people like us is nothing! I saw a man killing a person because of crooked look." Nobles had absolute control of lives commoners and wave of their hand could cause the extermination of your entire family.

"I heard someone talking about strange beasts living in the forest. Is it true?" It was a blunt lie, information was crucial for his future developments. Beasts could be domesticated and bring powerful labor force to the human world.

"Who talked about this?! I will strangle him to death! Most of the forests are safe, still there are forests with danger lurking inside. I am not talking about ordinary danger like wild animals. I am talking about bloodthirsty monsters with ability to rip you into thousand pieces in blink of an eye!" His expression changed to concerned. Roger thought that kid will recklessly rush into forest without any worry. Last weeks proved some potential in him, however people didn't change opinion about his intelligence.

"Did you ever encounter such beast?" It was simple curiosity, boy wanted to check if beasts are real or someone said they are real. There was a big difference between folk tale and the true state of the world.

"I did… I was hunting with my father and one of those things appeared from nowhere. It killed deer in a split of a second, I couldn't even react. Beast took its game and left…I won't forget this for my entire life." Recalling this memory was a terrible experience, beasts weren't legend.

'Getting such beast as a pet would be interesting! Hahaha!'

"Are people who hunt those creatures? Or at least people who can match their strength?" In theory, humans should find a solution to counter the power of monsters. There were many possible ways to resolve their advantage, for example, modern humans used technology.

"I don't know. There are legends about martial artists and mages. I don't believe in such bullshit, though." It was enough questions for today, more questions will transform the simple conversation into an interrogation. Aron didn't want to anger farmer with unnecessary questions.

"Thank you." The world was on the technological level of medieval Earth, still, there were things that couldn't be comprehended by science and rational mind.

"Whatever, don't approach the forest…Obviously, if you don't want to live, I won't stop you…" The man didn't forget to warn him again about the forest.

"Do you know how to read and write?" He stopped in the middle way of leaving to ask last question. Being illiterate was annoying and pathetic.

"Reading? Writing? Kid, you asked the wrong person. Maybe, village chief…Ok, kiddo enough questions. I need to go gather eggs from the coop." There was no need to hurry, however, Roger didn't like talking. He preferred to focus on work and stay quiet.

His knowledge about genetic engineering wasn't complete, still, it could be relearned in a short span of time with assistance of the system.

'What a shame.'

The harvest will take some days, yet he didn't complain. It was a great source of food and money if he could sell it. He approached the wheat area of the field and harvested one crop and observed it.

His title parasite disappeared and he found out that it's easier to level up skill than professions. His strength surpassed adult male human, so probability of being beaten by villagers was near 0.

Group of thugs that caused his death was living in another village. Most problematic was connections of their leader Joe. He was from blacksmith family and none offended them as it would result with cutting off your supply of tools. Aron couldn't just kill them in middle of settlement, rage of inhabitants would be too strong.

'I am waiting for you. Shitholes.'

They will eventually come to him, it was matter of time.
