Chapter 8: A new hope
Jhon didn't sleep at all that night he couldn't even if he wanted to for whenever he closed his eyes he would see flash backs of what he just saw he knew he couldn't forget that look Freya had even if he wanted to and he blamed himself for this he blamed himself, that Freya became like this but he will redeem himself he will protect her now however he can
Next morning Sofia run to Freyas room to make sure last night wasn't a dream she saw that Freya was sleeping so she went to wake her but before she could touch her Freya woke up and grabbed her hand "Freya?"
As soon as Freya heard Sofia she freed Sofias hand for her frim grip
"oh Sofia it's you"
Sofia found her behavior odd but she shrugged it of after all Freya came back after so long theres bound to be some changes in her
"wake up lets go wake Jhon up then i wanna go out you know how i'm not allowed out without Jhon but Luke told me that when you come back i can go out with you"
Freya turned stiff hearing Luks name but when she looked at those shining bright eyes and couldn't help but agree to her
"okay let me get ready yoi go wake Jhon up"
"okay!!!!!" Sofia excitedly left Freyas room
Freya knew why Sofia was only allowed out with Jhon before and with her they are confident that she couldn't escape even with Sofia because even if they did they could track Sofia back because everyone in this orphanage has a tracking device in them and she also the fact she can't just abound the other children in the orphanage so the association was sure she wouldn't do anything that was true for now...
When Sofia had gone to wake Jhon she found him looking out the window already awake it seems he didn't sleep "Jhon?.... Why Didn't you sleep? " before Jhon could answer her she spoke up "were you that happy because of Freyas return that you didn't sleep!!!!"
"ah.. That yeah" Jhon sighed he couldn't tell her the real reason so he just agreed
"Let's go we are gonna go out with Freya! She's waiting for us" after telling him that she pulled him with her
When Jhon so Freya already at the entrance he didn't know what to say to her but he didn't wanna be awkward with so he greeted her
"hi Freya l-long time no see" he wanted to bash himself up' long time no see like seriously!!? '
Freya didn't mind "yeah long time"
"Freya, Jhon c' mon i'm starving we're gonna have breakfast outside today let's go c'mon"
Sofia excitedly pulled the two with her
(oh i forgot to mention when they complete a certain task given by the association their paid a certain amount Sofia although doesn't know this she knows Jhon works for the orphanage and so has money on him)
"okay let's go its my treat" Freya wanted to do something to make her friends happy and right now food would do the job
"wow Freya where'd you get the money?" Sofia was excited about the fact Freya now was also independent
"hmmm... I got Job as well, like Jhon here," she couldn't have told her the truth so she coaxed her with this
Sofia became even more excited"so are you and Jhon like colleagues now? "
" You could say that.. Now let's go i'm starving as well" Freya urged them to go she knew Sofia was a curious kid and she didn't want get deep
Freya was acting a little like her old self even though she didn't smile much but she wasn't acting like cold ice what he had been before
he knew this was because of Sofia
He knew what Job she was talking about so he got an idea he didn't want Freya to ever act like what she had last night in the torture room so he will always accompany her in her missions so that she never has get that serious that bloodthirsty.... He made mental note to ask her about this then make an application to work as partners to association
"let's go i know a very good place here" jhon took Freya and sofia by their hands and lead them to a restaurant and then ordered pan cakes for everyone
"The pan cakes here are really good you two would love it" as he said this he was staring at Freya
Sofia and Freya both noticed this Sofia was knew about his feelings towards Freya so give them alone time she excused her self to go to toilet
"Freya how are you?" Jhon wanted to know about how she was after what they had done to her
"fine i can't be bad you know" jhon looked down after hearing that yes its true they can't easily be bad health wise but what about her emotional state
"i'm fine emotionally too you know" as if by reading his mind she answered
"five years ago i couldn't protect you i'm so sorry Freya b-but i promise i will do anything to protect you now from them" even from yourself he wanted to say but he couldn't
"heh'~ you don't have to worry Jhon they can't hurt me now" Freya chuckled because she realized that he wanted to redeem himself but she knew it wasn't his fault five years ago he couldn't have done anything even if wanted to even though tbey had trained him and experimented on him as well his was still more naive then herself
"Freya c-can we apply for joint mission you know duo partnership please i want to be by your side please Freya!!" Jhon looked up with strong determination in his eyes
Freya hesitated because she didn't want him to be her partner she didn't wanna let him see what she had become but faced with her old best friend's determined gaze she didn't want to refuse but...
" No Jhon you can't" Jhon knew this would be her response he also knew amd understood the reason be he had to be with her
"i saw you last night i know that you want to hide it from us but please i'm your best friend i know you even if it's been five years so please i can only feel relieved if i'm by side during any mission" he persisted
"o-okay" she was surprised she thought if he knew anout her other side he would feel disgusted or even be afraid but she clearly underestimated him and she knew she could trust him so there wasn't any other reason to refuse
"thank you so much Freya" Jhon was happy that she agreed
Sofia came back at this moment "what did i miss??"
"nothing much sit down our food is here" as Freya said this the waiter came with the food
Seeing her friends happily eat even if the happiness was temporary she was gaining something she lost in this five years 'hope'
A new hope fo a new beginning....
