Chapter 4: "We are not Friends!!!"

The Team Leader, Mr. James entered the room. "Everyone, we have a meeting in the hall so stop what you guys doing and save your work. We have a 15 minutes meeting." Everyone in the office save their work , shutting down their computer, leaving the room. On our way to the main hall, there were workers from other departments. It was noisy. We heard chattering, laughter filled in this quiet room. We were in a large room , filled with black chairs arranged vertically in an theatre like seating arrangement. Taking our seats based on each sector and its department. It was noisy, people were filled with concerns about why they are called in the main hall when the Team Leaders from each departments can forward whatsoever messages they received in their emails. I, on the other hand had a bad feeling about this. My stomach churned, thinking all the possibilities of why we are here? I sat beside London who was smiling at me, giving me reassuring me. Only if she knew what was I thinking about. Matter of fact, I am graceful that i am friends with the "Beauty" of the Advertising Department. When we first met, i was awkward , shy, antisocial and always have my head hanging low. She was open-minded, kind and she wont take crap from anybody. There were whispering and snickering around me. "Hey hey hey have you heard?" "Hear about what?" "This ugly plain woman is actually friends with this famous Jonathon Blake" "No way" "How that even possible!!!" "She must be enjoying this!!!" " Such an attention -seeker" "Attention - Whore you mean!!!" "Shhhh she can hear you know!!" "Let her hear Moron!!!" I sighed. Are they grown adult or they are still kids? Ahead of me there is a brown wooden stage with a brown podium on the right, filled with red stage chairs. The gentlemen entered the stage followed by the chairman, Vice President, Executives and last this man entered the stage. As usual , he look good , oozing with charisma , looking around the audience with business cold look. He was looking around in the room to look for someone. "Please dont look at me .. please dont see me.. pretend i'm invisible" I chanted inside hoping he would avoid me. Out of sudden, we made eye-contact. I felt my cheek burn in heat and my inside rise in heat. Ah that old feeling has return. Curse his Divine Greek Good-Looking-Genes-of-His. He suddenly smirked. The women in the room squealed. " Did you see him smirk" " He is so handsome!!" "He is smiling at me" "No it me " "No me" There were arguments among women. Only i knew what his smirk mean. That smirk was a warning for me.
