Chapter 41: 41 - Laura
Having understood a little about Layla's personality, I turned to look at other people and noticed a look of curiosity on their faces. Directing my gaze to where they were looking, I noticed that their vision was precisely in my hand holding the glass.
"Want a taste?" I asked him while I was delivering my glass to Danny to taste, from what I know of him, I think it would be tough for him not to ask me to taste my drink.
When he put the straw in his mouth and took a small sip, a glance of surprise was flashed on his face, and he began to drink faster and faster, almost running out of booze at once, until Jason finally took the glass out of his hand with a grumpy look seeing that there was now little booze to taste.
"Man, what a delicious drink! I could feel in my mouth a bit of Vodka, but still, the taste of the lemon with something else left in the taste of the drink, it's very sweet and tasty. If you gave me a quart of this drink, I could drink it at once like water." Danny said as he licked his lips while looking at the glass in Jason's hand.
Jason being more polite, after taking the glass from Daniel's hand gave a small sip with a doubtful look, because of the way Daniel was talking about the drink, since for them who went to many parties, it was difficult to taste a new drink, even more, when they knew it was made with Vodka. But the taste that dominated his mouth, different from what he had imagined, which would be the strong taste of vodka alcohol, was actually a very citric taste of lemon, causing his eyebrow to rise in amazement.
With a smile on his face, he passed the glass to his girlfriend to taste too and said. "I'm surprised too, I didn't think the company we hired to make the drinks would have such a hot drink on their menu."
"It's because you don't, Daniel's "master" made that drink." Layla said with a cold look enjoying the taste of Caipiroska without looking at anyone in particular.
Hearing what she said, everyone in the group turned to me with a surprised look, it was no longer enough for Danny to have talked about me losing weight in such a short time, now having tasted such a tasty drink that I made them curious about me again.
"I expected no less from you, Zy." Danny said with a smile as he passed his arm around my neck. "And you, Laura, what took you so long to get here today? Usually, you arrive early so you can pass the sound and leave everything ready." He asked while looking at the new girl who joined the group.
Hearing the girl called Laura, I find out that she is this famous Laura that people have commented on so much to me. Without trying to hide it, I open a curious look towards her and wait for the answer.
"Tell me about it, you know my sister loves to sing in the bath even though she has a horrible voice, right? Only today she was singing a song that I had never heard in my life, and incredible as it sounds, the song she chose was perfect, even with that dubious taste that she has". Laura started to explain. "I was still getting ready to come here, but when I heard the song she was listening to, I had to scream to her from inside the bathroom to send me the mp3 file of the song so I could listen to it on my iPod."
Hearing what she said, other people were curious, since for Laura to say that a song was perfect, the song would have to be really good since with what she knew of music, it was hard to satisfy her.
"When I heard the song on my computer, I couldn't help but want to remix it there on the spot, and as you can see by the time I arrived, I just finished remixing the song for now." Laura answered with a smile. "But don't worry, I added it to my playlist, and I'll use the remixed version of it to open today's show!"
"So, I think you better go fast because it looks like some of your fans are starting to get worried." Danny said as he pointed to a group of people near the stage with Laura's brand cap.
"True! I'm going, guys, I hope you enjoy the presentation!" She said as she ran to start assembling the equipment on stage.
Seeing her leave, I started to wonder what song she was going to play today that made her so excited to play, it would be even funny if it was some of my songs, but last time I saw, none of the songs had reached 50k views, that was a very low possibility of happening, I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed my glass again.
As I looked at the glass, I noticed that it was very light, the drink had run out. Looking at people's faces, everyone looked away while trying to whistle to try and disguise the guilty look. I looked at Layla's glass, and beyond the slightly pink cheeks, now because of the alcohol, I let out a slight laugh so they could see that I didn't mind and made a suggestion. "I think the alcohol in my glass has evaporated, do you believe? I think I'll have to make myself another glass of Caipiroska, it would be much more fun if everyone would go with me while I make each one a dose..."
Hearing my suggestion, the girls couldn't help but have a slight laugh on their faces with the bright idea I was making, while Danny and Jason being more shameless quickly said aloud in agreement. "We don't believe this happened, Zy! It's not possible! Don't worry, as good friends as we are from today, we're sure to accompany you to the bar while you prepare more Caipiroskas, friends are for these things, right?"
Seeing Jason act like that made even Layla open her little pink mouth in amazement, since usually, her brother was more serious, with a dubious look, she looked at me, trying to understand what I had done with him.
But not even I knew that at that moment, my CHARM statistics would be coming into effect.
