Chapter 4: Love At First Sight
"...But I could use this job to earn extra income. So, yes, Ma'am and Sir I am accepting this additional task.", Atlantis continued.
Enrico suddenly pulled her right hand and envelope it with both of his hands while saying, "Atlantis, thank you. Thank you for accepting this special task. I am really looking forward to working with you."
Atlantis was surprised by Enrico's reaction that she couldn't utter any word and just smiled, awkwardly. And she tried to pulled out her hand since she feels like she's already burning. Moments just passed and she's already regretting her decision to accept the task. She feels like she dug her own grave. She has a gut feeling that this new "adventure" in her life will be one hell of a ride.
"Thank you, Sir. Same goes with you. I hope I can be of my best help to you.", says Atlantis.
Manager Sy is impressed with how things goes. She secretly smiled a little on how the meeting went.
"So, Atlantis that would be all for now. I'll be the one to tell you when you will start officially as EA to Enrico.", manager Sy announced.
Enrico answered abruptly, "I could use an EA now." and he stared at Atlantis again.
Atlantis eyes' nearly got out of it's socket for what she heard. "Ri-i-ight now?" She said unconfidently.
Enrico, "Yes, right now. In the meeting later with my Mom and the helpers at the house. I think, Manager Sy, there should be times that Atlantis needs to work at my office so it will be much easier for us to settle things."
Atlantis getting more shock with what she's hearing. Is this even real?! All she could do is close is left fist and pinch her thumb with her index finger. She didn't notice it that she's actually doing that. She do it when she's feeling nervous with the situation.
Manager Sy instantly agreed to Enrico, "Yes, Sir. Whatever it is that you want, we will give you. And you got a point. It is much easier to work with your EA when you see and talk to them personally."
Atlantis was even more surprised that Manager Sy easily accepted Enrico's suggestion. Well, he's one of the big boss so why should Manager Sy object.
Enrico faced Atlantis again, "Hhhmmm... Atlantis, will that be okay to you? Do you have any comments?"
Atlantis couldn't help but feel nervous and giddy at the same time. The way Enrico ask her as if every opinion of hers matters. And the way he always say her name. It's like a sweet music to her ears. So she answered, "No, Sir. I think your idea is great. It will be easier for us to work." And then she smiled a little.
Enrico, "That's good then! Manager Sy, I think this is all about it for now and we will continue later in Mom's house for another meeting."
Manager Sy was surprised, "Ah—- Yes, Sir. Let's continue later."
Enrico faced Atlantis again, "And Atlantis, I need you to come with me right now. We have errands to do." And then she turned to Manager Sy, "that is if it's okay with you, Manager Sy. I'll just snatch Atlantis for a little bit. Do some errands to start my settling here in the Philippines."
Manager Sy just nodded in agreement. Atlantis nearly choked while swallowing her own saliva with how things were done. Where was the shy Enrico that was walking in front of her earlier? What she is seeing right now is a confident man who looks so determined and organized and full of positive vibes. Atlantis wondered what happened. And when she turned to face Enrico, he suddenly winked at her.
In Atlantis mind, "What the hell is happening?!".
