Chapter 6: The POV of Yin Li
I woke up early in the morning from my cultivation, I managed to cultivate 2 extra seeds. So, in total I have 3 martial seeds which store my essence qi. Because the martial tournament in the village was beginning around noon, I had plenty of time to train in my Kun Peng martial arts. My Kun Peng martial arts exists of two punches, one hard punch and one gentle punch. One kick, which is aimed for the head, the other kick is aimed at the breast. And a superb movement technique that allows me to dodge most enemies strikes on the same cultivation stage with ease.
After training with my sister for two hours, we understood more of the techniques. Teacher said this is called the <beginner> realm for combat arts. If one's understanding of a certain technique reaches a certain threshold they can break through a new realm. Teacher explains that the realms consist of: <beginner> , <student> , < practitioner >, <teacher> , <master>, <peak master> and <absolute master>. The better the technique, the further you can advance in the realm techniques. Because if someone with a shallow understanding of martial arts creates a new technique, you can't progress further than the <student> realm. But if a master in combat arts creates a new technique, it is possible to reach the highest stage of <absolute master>.
My sister and me where sparring in the backyard, teacher didn't come out of his room so we assumed he was still cultivating. My sister focuses on long range techniques so it was challenging for me who excels in close combat to beat her.
My sister uses her <burning bow> technique to hold me of, and evades my advances with her <Firefade steps>. She creates her bow from the primordial fire she cultivates, and shoots fire arrows towards me. Luckily with my Kun Peng movement technique I can evade the arrows easy. After dodging four arrows, I decide to advance to close combat. After coming close I punch her with the hard fist of the Kun Peng fists. The hard fist is for damaging bones in the body, and the gentle fist is for damaging organs. Before I punch my sister, she evades my punch by using her Firefade steps and launches herself in the air. After she launches herself in the air she pulls her bow and shoots three consecutive homing arrows. I dodge the three homing arrows and wait until my sister is back on the ground. After dodging the homing arrows each three times, my sister lands on the ground. I know my sister's limit is firing three arrow at the same time, and launches myself at her with the three fire arrows still following after me. I coat my hand in the water essence qi, and prepare myself for using the gentle fist. The gentle fist's effect is amplified by the gentle nature of my water qi. My sister evades my first punch because of her footwork, but I try to punch her again and it will probably be successful, however three fire arrows will also hit me at the same time if I punch my sister. But then a shadow appears and grabs my sisters fire arrows, with his bare hand and stops my fist with the other hand.
"I must say, that was a good sparring session, for <martial seed> cultivators." A tall blond man appears in front of us, it was our teacher Fionn. I stare at my teacher with admiration, even for a <martial pond> cultivator, it will be hard to stop those arrows, without getting injured or hurt.
My teacher Fionn is an amazing man, I met him in a forest when he was being attacked by a gorilla. I thought I saved his life, however it turned out he was an amazing cultivator. After he heard our story he created a trial for us to become his disciple. Me and my sister will do everything to become his disciple, and I hope he won't abandon us like our father did with our mother. I once read in a book that a master is as a parent for the disciple. So if we become his disciple he will become our father, which we never had. Even tough my teacher is invincible in my eyes, I know that the Heavenly sword sect is really big with many powerful elders. So I hope teacher is powerful enough to stop them.
"Your martial techniques already reached the <beginner> stage in martial arts, that's admirable for a <martial seed> cultivator" said Fionn. 'I knew it' thought Yin Li. He could see right trough us, he already knew we reached the <beginner> stage with just watching our spar. How powerful and wise is our teacher actually?
A bunch of music was suddenly heard, when we went to look with teacher what the noise was, it turned out it was the welcoming ceremony for that scum Wu Li. I am even ashamed to have the same first name as that scum. The whole village was celebrating when he was on the podium smiling, next to him was an really old man. The man should be called elder Han, his master, from the Heavenly sword sect. After he spotted us he stared at me and my sister, we both felt that killing intent our master talked about. But his grandpa whispered something in his ear and the killing intent disappeared, and was replaced with a sinister smile.
"In honour of our village hero Wu Li, we will hold a tournament between all of the youths in the village. The tournament will take place on the village training grounds, there are 16 youths who will participate in this tournament so there will be three rounds and one final. The matches will be anonymously drawn by the village elders. A good friend of our young hero also will be participating in this tournament his name is Kong San and is an outer sect disciple of the Heavenly sword sect. The winner can have one wish be fulfilled by our village. Killing and making injuries, are allowed in this tournament." After the grandpa of Wu Li announced this the village youths, me and my sister where escorted to the training grounds. But just before we parted with teacher he whispered something towards the both of us.
"Don't be afraid , I will take care of your problems" after that he smilingly walked towards the tribunes, where the villagers were seated.
After hearing his words of encouragement me and my sister were elated. We thought that the teacher was maybe intimidated by the heavenly sword sect elder, but apparently not.
Me and my sister where pumped up to use our martial skill. But in the first and second round, the youths we were going to fight strangely gave up, before fighting in the match. The villagers were disappointed with this and started booing towards these youths.
But then I faced my greatest rival, Wu li in the half-finals, My sister faced his friend Kong San. Before the battle even started Wu li started laughing. "Fu, Fu, Fu I am going to get my revenge, Yin Li. I am a supreme talent in my sect. In six months I already broke through the body refining stage and entered the <martial seed> stage. HAHAHA, you probably don't even know what that means." After this he drew his sword and started moving towards me, he started laughing like he was crazy and tried to stab me with his sword. Fortunately I remembered the lesson of teacher to first judge the strength of the enemy before attacking, but his strength was massively underwhelming.
I started thinking that he was hiding his strength, and wanted to catch me of guard. I kept dodging for about five minutes, when Wu li started screaming: "You coward stop dodging and face me like a man." I was very confused with what he meant, but I tried to probe his real strength with my hard fist punch. So, I dodged his approaching blade sideward, and threw out my hard fist punch. When it hit him he flew out the area and became unconscious.
I became very confused, why would he throw himself out of the ring? After I looked at my sister's battle she did the same thing. She fired an arrow at this Kong San guy and he also flew out of the ring. When I looked at the audience everyone besides teacher watched us with an open mouth.
I asked the referee: "Did we win?"
After a minute of silence the elder who came with Wu li who was dumfounded started yelling at us.
"You brats what did you do to my disciple? You must have used a treasure to defeat him!" yelled elder Han.
"No sir, I just punched him once and he flew out of the area" I answered respectfully.
"Nonsense how can a brat like you win against my genius disciple with just one punch? You cheated and violated the rules!" retorted elder Han.
"But even if I did use an item, there were no rules that forbade them? Even Wu li used a sword." I said on a respectful tone, because I was afraid of angering elder Han. Even if he is unreasonable, he is from a big sect.
Elder Han was getting redder and redder, he started screaming "Even for retorting against me you already deserved to die, If you give me your treasure I will let this slide."
I was dumfounded and said: "But sir I never used a treasure, my sister used her fire qi to make a bow and I used my water qi to coat my fist?"
"Do you take me for a fool? A <martial seed> cultivator can never use external qi! Unless you have some god level cultivation technique. But how would you a beggar from this village know of it or have it, enough you spilled your chances for forgiveness junior, prepare to die." After saying this elder drew his sword and slashed at me. It was impossible to dodge because the elder was a <Martial Ocean> cultivator. I looked at the elder and prepared to die, I just hoped that teacher could at least save my little sister.
But the sword which was almost slashing me, suddenly stopped. The sword was caught between two fingers, when I looked at the person who caught it, I became happy and almost started crying. He then said: "If you try to harm me, I can forgive you. But if you try to harm my disciple, you are unforgivable."
