Chapter 3: Discovering A Man And Weapons

Nami's POV-

It was around 6 o'clock in the afternoon and the sun was beginning to set, casting a beautiful array of colors to illuminate the sky. The various shades of pink, red, and yellow paired with a view of the endless ocean gave the scenery a picturesque scene, a sight that one couldn't truly appreciate unless they could see it from a high vantage point.

The was where a slim female with shoulder length orange hair gazing out at the sunset from a very high hill. Her brown eyes admired the vast ocean while also containing a hint of sadness in the depths.

Nami took a deep breath and let it out before turning around, once again facing the large grave with wooden cross over it. Moving in front of it, she sat down, leaning against the wood, wrapping her arms around her knees.

She had already been out here for around an hour or so, spending most of that time reminiscing over the past and debating about what to do next. She always came up here when she was doubted herself and wanted to talk to Bell-mère's grave.

Recently she had begun feeling that everything she did was just a waste of time. No matter how much she tried, no matter how much she stole, it all felt hopeless in the end. The burden she had carried for a decade now, only seemed to grow heavier over time, and now it was like a huge weight that constantly threatened to sink her to the bottom.

"Am I doing the right thing here, Bell-mère?" Nami softly asked, sadness and worry coloring her tone of voice. "What would you do in this situation? What am I supposed to do?" She let her normal strong facade drop as she silently let a few tears drop ontot he ground.

She stayed in that postion for roughly another hour before finally standing up, pushing hersefl off the ground. Tiny mosquitoes buzzing around her head as she stretched her arms and legs. She was beginning to feel better, but only a little as she was still in a pretty foul mood.

She was all set and ready to head back down the hill when a flash of red caught her eye, forcing her to do a double-take. She focused her gaze on the speck of color in the near distance, something she was sure hadn't been there an hour ago.

Instead of heading back to Arlong Park like she was intending to do, she started making her way towards the bright color, pushing through bushes, shrubs, and avoiding various patches of poison ivy.

It took her roughly 10 minutes to get there as it had been a bit farther then she had initially thought. She had originally seen the red dot from on top of the hill so it made sense if the trip was longer than expected.

When she finally arrived at the place she figured the mysterious red spot had been however, what she found was a person, an unconscious one at that.

The young man had bright red flame like hair that was so dazzling that even in the darkness it was plain to see, hence the red spot she ha seen earlier. All the other aspects of the male was obscured by his outfit which was pitch black, blending into the surrounding darkness of the night.

"Well well well," Nami said, a smirk spreading across her face. "Lets see if I can help you out stranger." She then got down onto one knee and began rummaging through the mans pockets without a hint of restraint. This incident thoroughly increased her mood for the better as she attenpted to look for something valuable.

Her expression turned to one of glee when she pulled out and expensive looking knife hidden in a belt on his waist. However that expression quickly changed into one of complete shock a few minutes later after she pulled out yet another hidden weapon.

In the end, Nami had pulled out 23 shuriken, 6 hidden blades, a vial of liquid that she couldn't identify, and a large black fruit the size of a watermelon. This was after almost stripping him almost completely to his underwear, and while he had no money on him, the man seemed to be made up of nothing but weapons and scars.

The scars was what drew Nami's attention the most aside from the weapons, because even in the dark, she could see just how deep they were, and just how much of them he had. Various marks crisscrossing one another in a permanent tattoo that only added on to the mystery of this stranger.

Originally she had planned on simply robbing the man of everything he had and then adding it to her money stash. However, between the weapons and the both old and new scars, Nami just couldn't bring herself to do it. Though she had had it rough her whole life, she still had morals and a conscious, and she would have felt guilty for stealing from someone this worse off.

She sat on the ground for a couple of minutes, wondering how she should approach the problem. Her curiosity had gotten the better of her and she wanted to bring the man in for questioning, but didnt knwo if she coukd drag him all the way back to Arlong park.

After careful thought, she finally settled on taking him back to her home, her original home. Not only could she monitor his conditions, but also find out more about this mysteruous stranger. She then began to put everything back where she found it, every single weapon returning to their proper places.

After making sure that everything was placed back where it was, Nami stood up and dusted off her hands. "Now for the difficult part." She muttered. "If it wasn't for my numerous unanswered questions, I wouldn't even bother helping you."

After firmly tying the fruit to his clothes, she squatted down and began half carrying, half dragging his body in the direction of her home.

//Hi guys, its your boi Carlos here to let you know that this story will not be rushed

If I can't think of a good plot to take my story then I simply won't write until I come up with something

I want this story to be good and I want the characters to seem realistic, none of this "falling in love with the main character after just meeting" garbage.

Each character has a story and a personality that has been shaped due to their stories. Now while I may tweak their personalities just bit for various reasons, I'll mostly always stick true to their character.

That aside, for those wondering, I have placed James Creed 2 years before Luffy set out on his journey, meaning that all characters are 2 years younger

Additionally, I have dropped him off in Cocoyasi village....as you can probably tell, Nami is still there and working for the Arlong pirates.

I just felt like clearing things up before questions started coming out 😁😁 feel free to comment and/or drop a powerstone if you like the story!!
