Chapter 4: 3 Siblings

When Lishe woke up the next day, she felt squished and uncomfortable. Her tiny body was blocked in on all sides except where her head was resting.

Sadly, the available headspace didn't stop her mind from over reacting and she began to panic. Convincing herself that her place of death would be underneath her mother and she knew (oddly enough) that if she dies there she'd be stuck in the den the rest of her ghostly existence, never knowing the feeling of scaring anything bigger than a rabbit.

Horrified, she might also become a ghost with the lamest deadly backstory, she decided it was best to escape and find out why mother rabbit seemed to have gained a few pounds, that can kill, since she last saw her.

So, she pushed back with both her front and back paws while wiggling herself out. Once out, after a while of struggling, she was finally able to take a better look at her mother.

To her surprise, now under mother rabbit, were four fuzzy baby rabbits, two on each side of where she had slept, two had a silky black coat another had curly white fur while the last was white, with grayish black spots all around its body.

When Lishe first found she was a rabbit, she knew it was possible for mother rabbit to have had a litter. She just wasn't certain. She only had her nose to guide her to mother rabbit, making it harder for her to notice the few kits right behind her.

She knew one of them should have been her womb-mate. So, she decided that the adorable runts were her siblings.

After silently apologizing to mother rabbit, Lishe soon noticed a slight problem when she was about to hop back to her sleeping spot.

The moment she turned to the sibling sandwich, the two bunnies holding her spot open collapsed into her spot. Leaving Lishe in a den full of sleeping bunnies with nothing to do. Not wanting to stay awake or try to get her spot back and fail, she had to think of what was next.

Although still a bit mad; being the reasonable and amazing big sister she declared herself as, she stopped wasting precious sleep on the revenge forming in her mind and decided to take a nap under mother rabbits ear.

The revenge wouldn't have worked anyways. Since all of her plans required a ghost to complete them, she could only regret and remember that she has a functioning body.

It has been three months since Lishe found out about her siblings and the one thing she found difficult was that she couldn't talk to them.

Every time she tried to talk, all that came out was a shrill shriek which resulted in a questioning look from her siblings and the attention of every rabbit in the den. She would then hop behind mother rabbit who would once again sigh at her child's plight.

Since that embarrassing failure she was left with no choice but to observe her family, which had better and thankfully less embarrassing results. She found it was best to look at their body language if she wanted to know what they were getting at.

It wasn't easy but she finally found the secret to bunny language. So, she successfully mastered bunny language and was able to create a type of understanding with her family and live a normal bunnies life; for the time being.

She found it hard being in a litter;

After sleeping several nights together with them she was forced to accept that her mother's ear was the only place she can sleep. The only good thing about her situation was she was able to observe her siblings and get to know them better.

She found the two with black fur were always together and very curious so they would roam as much of the den together. While observing them she, finally, noticed the den was a mini society of rabbit families underground.

So it didn't surprise Lishe when she'd drag the boy of the two back from bothering a different rabbit family, each day. The girl was more reserved but just as curious, so she doesn't stop her brother and waited for results at a safe distance.

The one with white fur was always with mother and a little on the weaker side compared to the others and to Lishe's relief mother didn't mind much and would help him.

The one she met in her formation period, sadly turned out to be a cutie. With his white fur with grayish black spots, he would always follow her around the den like a mini bunny guard always by her side.

She found out it was him, when mother dearest decided to move them to a better place to sleep in the den. He was the only one kicking to get away and being disobedient.

Lishe sadly found it cute when he would try keeping up with her when she hopped to get the curious twins. At those times she would ask herself if she is somehow losing to the enemy everytime she calls him cute.

It took Lishe three to four months in total before she was able to leave her family den for the very first time and she was excited to finally taste freedom.

During those months she never gave up on her dreams and since the beginning, she knew that she had to leave her home to even get a glimpse of her dream afterlife.

So, she continued her wiggling exercises and added jumping to strengthen her muscles, which she happily succeeded in doing.

Her little guard was also capable of leaving the den, with him copying her every exercise, but the soonest would have to be two days later. So he would have to wait with the others before leaving with the scavenging group to gather food.

The day has come for her to see the world and make her path towards ghost-hood. Lishe can just see all the pranks she can get away with being a ghost. And she energetically hopped behind her group of rabbits out of the underground den.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

I know I haven't been updating in a while. I was really invested in a novel then another and another *sigh* I'm addicted. But that really isn't the only reason I haven't been updating. I've been debating on this chapter for a while and other chapters soon to be published. I'm still new to writing so I'm still debating on how to do things but I have a slight idea on how to do it so...I'll be updating again.I really don't like giving up on things it really hurts my nonexistent pride.
