Chapter 02 - His Smile
Kou's POV
"Asahina here, this are three days worth of notes. You're at the hospital so I copied that for you "Sakuma said while she gave me the notes.
"Thanks" I said taking it
Sakuma smiled.
"Sakura you shouldn't waste your time..." Shinjiro said while staring at me.
After the incident at Hanazawa's apartment, this is the first time I get to go school again.
Shinjiro, Hanazawa and Okazaki is always visiting me while Arai is busy in his basketball matches.
I had a very good time with them
But starting that day.
Shinjiro is always harassing me.
I never thought he is this kind of guy.
"And you think whose fault is this?" I ask to him
Shinjiro pointed at me.
Is he saying it's my fault?
He pushed me in a thirty floor building!
I can't recover with just one sleep on that!
"You, devil "I said glaring at him.
"That's enough Asahina, let's go back now" Okazaki said laughing a little.
Okazaki is also making fun of me.
"You can't win on Shinjiro, Asahina" Okazaki said with a weird smile, Hanazawa and Sakuma laugh after.
I'm actually friends with them now.
Even though I mess a up a big time they still accepted me.
But I don't think I am to Shinjiro.
I entered the classroom.
"Asahina-kun! I hope you're fine" Hinata said smiling like an idiot.
"Yeah, we are really worried about you!" Another girl said and stay still standing in front of me.
I already change a bit but, I still do thinks some girls are annoying as ever.
I sit on my place and after a few moments Kaguya-sensei enters.
He is our classroom adviser, He's a very intelligent math teacher.
"Good Morning!" Kaguya-sensei said
"Good morning, Sensei!" All the students greeted.
"Oh, I remember!" Kaguya-san said out of nowhere while writing on the board
"What is it?" Yomi asked
"The sport fest!" Kaguya-sensei said and smile
"Kaguya-sensei is sure popular with the girls" Okazaki said
"Because he's nice and handsome" Arai replied
"Class please keep in mind that the Sports fest is next week we need to practice the games and you all need to prepare. All students will be playing" Kaguya-sensei
I already try to forget that thing...
Since I'm a transferee, Kaguya-sensei forced me to play a lot of weird games.
"Um also we will pick out Ayato's partner by a draw, I know many girls wants to be his partner" Kaguya-sensei said and stare at me
"Yes we really want Ayato!" Girls said squealing.
What is he thinking provoking them?
...
A draw huh?
"Here!" Mr. Kaguya said
I draw a paper and the name written on it is------
"Why this is happening to me?" I asked to myself
.....
"Ayato your partner is Shinjiro Mizuki !" Kaguya-sensei said happily
He seems like really happy, WHY?
That's crazy
"Uh!" Girls said disappointed
"It is a guy" Another group of girls said.
*Sigh
He my partner?
Is God playing on me?
...
"Asahina what's with that face?" Arai ask staring at me.
He is my seatmate
"It's crazy, the guy who tried to kill me is my partner?" I said with a bit of sarcastic tune
It's crazy, we are always fighting, and I wonder what will happen in the sports frst
"Don't you think its fate?" Okazaki said trying to tease me
"It's an omen" I replied with a glare
"What are you saying? Shinjiro is cute" Arai said with a smile
CUTE?
"Cute? In what way?" I asked sarcastically
"I agree!" Okazaki said
They are on his side even though we are all men
"Don't talk about someone without them knowing, most of all don't talk about them when they are just in your front" Shinjiro voice said
Crap, I forgot he is sitting in my front!
" I just said what am I thinking" I said staring at him
I think he annoyed
"I said you're cute!" Arai said with a smile.
"I'm not cute, my brother said that I'm not because I'm emotionless and cold" Shinjiro said
"Huh?" Me
"So I don't really care on what you said about earlier" He said staring now to me.
He admitted it...
The classes ended.
I'm here at the school gate
We all agreed to go to the mall together to buy clothes for the sports fest but---
Hanazawa is late
"What's with her, she's late!" Arai said staring at his wrist watch
Then I notice Hanazawa running
"Hey you are late!" Okazaki said pointing to Hanazawa
"I'm sorry" Hanazawa said catching her breath
For a moment we wait until Hanazawa can speak clearly
"So why you are late?" Okazaki asked ask
"Shinjiro's shoes is lost again... I tried to help him find it" Hanazawa said with a sad face
Is he being bullied?
"Is he still there?" Arai asked
"Looks like im not a big help, he still there finding it..." Hanazawa said
"It's been days" Okazaki said
"Correct me if I'm wrong, he is getting bullied by girls because of what he did to me" I state
I'm popular for being different actually, but I'm more popular because of my looks...
They all nodded.
That guy is not saying it at all.
"But you know Shinjiro is a strong person he don't need pity" Hanazawa said
"We know that..." Arai and Okazaki said in unison
"But I won't forgive them!" Hanazawa whisper
Of course I know that he is strong
He want herself to solve his own problems
And After all he choose to do it...
But with all his friends, why he won't try on relying on them
"Let's go! We are going to be late" I said
They all nodded
We arrived at the shopping mall.
"Hey Hana can you remind me why Shinjiro isn't coming?" Okazaki ask while texting
"He says his brother will buy him some clothes, and he seem pretty happy with it "Hanazawa said while looking for some shirts
"His brother is already a high school student... "Arai said with a confused face.
"He's a brocon?" I said
Okazaki and Arai laugh
"Maybe you are right but as I remember Shinjiro is living with his brother only" Hanazawa said said
Somehow we feel bad.
"Living with his brother?" I said, brother huh?
You see I have an elder brother too but I HATE HIM
"Anyway he said he is fine so let's just buy something for us" Okazaki said keeping his phone.
"Right!" Arai said doing some kind of pose.
After two hours of walking around the mall I found good stuffs but I'm exhausted.
"Let's call it a day" I said
I noticed that they are not in my side.
Where are they?
They are eating again.
They are all a glutton.
"I agree!" Hanazawa said eating a donut
"Me too" Arai agreed
We all parted ways at the train station.
I arrived at home.
"Kou-nii!" Yui said running towards me with a smile
"Hello Yui..." I said and hug her.
Why did I try to kill myself...?
I don't want to see Yui's face sad
Yui is my 5 year old little sister.
But now that I think of it...
Why I want to die?
I cant believe I almost did something that idiotic.

.
I woke up too early, it is just 6:30am but I guess that's not a bad thing.
I can go to school early, I wonder what is the school like early in the morning.
I arrived at school at exactly 7:30 there is still 1 hour before class.
The students in clubs that have morning practice looked exhausted.
The school looks peaceful at this time.
As I head towards the room I saw Shinjiro walking around like he is looking for something.
"What you're looking?" I asked touching his shoulder.
He looked so surprised.
So he can also looked surprised.
"Did I scare you?" I ask sarcastically.
"Yes... you scared me" He said honestly, I didn't expect him to answer honestly.
Looking at him this close I noticed he is really small.
He is looking really innocent.
That's a joke... He is not in any way innocent!
What is he looking?
"I'm looking for my books I already found some but one is still missing" He said showing me his books. Am I that obvious?
I wonder if he is already being bullied before.
Is it my fault?
"Let me help" I said and I try to look around.

.
I go to school early.
I think I know the reason why now.
"Found it!" I said and he looked quite happy.
"Thanks" he said
"Can you repeat it?" I ask sarcastically.
"Die" He responded
"You need to speak more sincere, I can't see any sincerity at you" I said trying to lecture the cold guy.
"Thanks" He said and smile.
*Badump!
"Is that better?" He asked going back to his usual face teasing face.
"Yeah..." I said hiding my face.
What's with earlier?
My heart beats a little louder back then.
"Why are you here early?" He asked while he was walking towards his seat.
He walked too fast.
"I just woke up early" I whisper
He is already gone in my side by the time I get to answer.
Luckily.
Damn it, I think I'm blushing. There is something wrong with me.
I'm sitting in my seat looking at his back.
Whenever I'm staring at him
He looked like he is thinking of something different and far away.
"You should report that to our teachers" I said trying to make a conversation.
"What?" He asked as he face me
"That they are bullying you" I said
And he looked at me and smile
Is he playing on me?
"No need, I can handle this on my own" He said
"I know, but it's easier that way" I said and he looked at me like he is analyzing me.
Did I say something wrong?
"Maybe you're right" He whispered and he face in front again.
Too quiet... It's awkward
"By the way, do you already have a proper attire for the sports fest" I asked
Actually I know the answer since Hanazawa said yesterday but I'm just coming up of something to talk with her, or we will end up teasing each other again.
"Yeah, my brother bought me" he said
"The neocon" I blurted out
Why did I say that?
I think he will get mad!
I just insulted his brother.
"You think so?" He asked staring at me with a straight eye contact.
Is she really considering my opinion?
"Well it is unusual for a brother to go out of his way to just specifically but his brother clothes" I said trying to be calm.
"I'm actually thinking of the same thing" Shinjiro said
"Really?" I said, that surprised me
"Iori-nii is quite overprotective" He added
"So his name is Iori?" I said and he nodded
"How old is he?"
"20" he replied
So we can have a normal conversation after all.
Maybe, just maybe we can make the sports fest work out.
"What are you thinking, Asahina-kun?" Shinjiro said
He just called me Asahina-kun
"Nothing" I answer
This is the first time he called me with a name [Last Name to be exact]
I find it refreshing...but what's with the kun?
"Hey Asahina-kun! What are you doing with Shinjiro?" Hinata asked she enter the room with her other friends
I noticed that they are coming near me.
"Asahina-kun are you free this afternoon?" Hinata asked as she reached my table.
Then I notice Shinjiro slowly standing up on his desk
"Hey don't leave" I whisper
"It is going to be noisy here" He said
"Stay" I said and I don't know if it sound like a command or a plead
I like to be with him more than them
"I'm not free, I'm going to hang out with Shinjiro?" I said
Hinata looked shocked
"Is that so?" Hinata gave Shinjiro a displeasing and leave.
Shinjiro is looking at me.
"Why did you do that?" He asked
"I just want to" I said and gave him a smile
Shinjiro stay quiet.
"They will probably think that you are an idiot staying with someone who tried to kill you" Shinjiro said and smirked
"What's wrong with that" I replied and also smirked
He laugh a bit and he whispered "Thanks"
He thanked me.
"Can you say it louder?" I said with a teasing tune
"DIE" He replied.
